I answer phone but don't say a word - they hang up!

The DNC list is not a joke. It has stopped all the honest, bothersome calls. That leaves the crooks. Unfortunately, the FCC and the FTC have been hamstrung by the Republicans, especially during the George Bush administration.

As for Homeland Security, that is another George Bush fiasco.

The phone that I pay a pretty price for has become my nightmare.  I can no longer answer my phone when it rings...unless of course I know who the caller is.  This number called me at 8:35 PM so they are not even respecting the 8 PM limit on telemarketers.  I am so sick of them.  I am saving my pennies to buy a telephone that allows me to block as many numbers as necessary - at least 100 or more.  Verizon has a feature called "do not disturb".  It's great except none of my friends can reach me.  Verizon puts a limit of only 10 numbers that can be blocked.  We all know that's not enough.  The DO NOT CALL registry is a joke.  I suggest everyone call the FCC and do whatever it takes to speak to a live agent and report all the abusive calls you are getting.  Maybe if they are inundated with complaints, they will do something.  NJ where I live is considering a law with penalties for these moron callers but that's not enough.  They are stealing my time and my telephone number and I believe they should be in jail.

Called my cell.  Number is now blocked.

How many times do you have to ignore the call before they give up.  So much for the Do Not Call list.

Received and answered call at 9:45 a.m.   No one replied.

Robo call offering me a free cruise if I take a short survey.  I hung up.  I guess the pretense of a "survey" is their attempt to circumvent a violation of the do-not-call list.  I can only imagine the strings attached or credit-card scams people could get themselves into if they were duped by this offer.  Stay away from these things!

Dear people: the do not call registry does not prevent people from calling you. IF people actually file a complaint with https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
then they can investigate and dole out fines....which increase with each violation. Legitimate companies subscribe to the Do Not Call list and enforce the rules on their employees. (I worked for a company that passed along any fine to the employee violator). If everyone would stop whining on these boards and actually report it, MAYBE, some of these scammers would go away.

Phone all from 414-232-5011 April 2014 at 1044 Am. Please do something to stop this type of calls. I do not pick up if I do not know the number.

No one ever answers when you say hello

Ask the phone company to block future calls from this number - yes, it will add a nominal cost to your bill, but if the calls are really bothering you that much this is an option.

I am on the dnc list and it gets worse each day. I block all these numbers and more call. I have no more room for blocking on my computer or phone. The dnc list is a joke. I have filed complaints on the dnc website and nothing ever happens. I could have them on speed dial and another annoying number would come up while I am reporting the 1. I am happy you have had success with the list.

I have had calls the last 2 days.This morning at approx.9 am.Idid not answer either call.And no message was left....

Just rec'd call from this number and did not leave any message.  The caller ID showed as a big fat "0" (zero).

Free cruise mention.  SPAM.  

Left no voice message.

These are people doing illgeal things that do not follow the rules put in place by the Do Not Call policy. The best thing to do is not answer a call from a number you do not recognize. You can always research the number later and block them from contacting you again on your smart phone if they turn out to be scammers. The FCC likely has systems in place to monitor these types of forums; just keep posting when you recieve one of these calls.

If you  have an iPhone:

1. Press the little "i" with a circle around it on calls like this that you know are scams
2. Scroll down
3. Press Block this caller

Called - Left no message - My return call went to a disconnect Verizon message. Another call added to my block list.
