The number is, in fact, a calling "service" in Chattanooga, TN.  It's been around for a while, has  a BUNCH of phone numbers, mostly sequential, AND a bunch of formal complaints filed against them.  The latest problem is calls with a (011) prefix added before the area code.  This is a code used by telemarketers, scammers and outright hackers, mostly foreign, to access phone numbers in the general area of the U.S. and Canada.  You can just block all (011) calls from your phone, but calls from the (423) area will still get through.  If you have no legit contacts in that area, you can block (423) as well.  Depends on how annoying the calls get - many phone companies charge a fee to put blocks on your phone service.  If they're really annoying, you CAN file formal complaints with the FTC - contact your local phone company re: how to do this.

Called but was our. Never left a message. So it was not important. Checked the number and foind 9 pages of comments on this site. Another number to block.

Got call today, no reply from caller when I answered.. I guess the cat got their tongue.

Repeated calls from this number to my answering machine, latest call  at 1:32 PM EDT on 10/26/17, never leaves a message.

The best thing I did without spending money. Turn off answering machine. When phone rings I see who's calling. if I don't recognize the number I just don't answer. When I leave the house I turn on the answering machine.

Called my landline. Typically I don’t answer numbers I don’t know but I’m fed up with all these ridiculous numbers calling. I picked up said hello and it was silent then I heard the click as they hung up. Annoying!! Ridiculous amount of these calls from oddest numbers. Not right!

You're right Jim G - I saw this number has been complained about for over 3 years! What's the point of us reporting this when nothing gets done? They called my house last night at 8:45 p.m. I didn't answer and of course, there was no message. They've called plenty of times before.

Number is unknown to me. Did not answer, so I let it go to vmail. As soon as my gorgeous robot assistant answered, the caller hung up.

I received a call from this number at 10:15 on Saturday morning. I’d let it go to the answering machine since I don’t answer out of area calls. The  caller said hello, good morning, hello, hello good morning, good morning,,, and then hung up.  After reading all these comments I’m glad I didn’t answer. I, too am on the do not call list!!!

A new number I do not recognize, I always come here first to check these people out.  I never answer calls I do not know or not on my contact lists.  I will block them, and file a complaint with the ftc, fcc and BBB.  I have been very successful at getting people to stop calling with complaints to the BBB and I label the calls as harassing in nature.  It's my phone line.  Far as I am concerned they have no right to call, unless I give them permission which can be revoked at any time.

Call to my cell phone from an unfamiliar number and area code where I don’t know anyone. Caller ID was worthless; just was city name and state. No message left when I didn’t answer. The multiple pages of call info was helpful; will block this number.
