Could not get past the automated voice, so called back and STILL could not get past automated voice.  (Wanted me to put in some code that was supposedly given to me during initial call, but I hadn't gotten that far with robocall.)  My pharmacy (national phone number/customer service) verified that they had no connection with CVS/Caremark.  Just a scam.  Probably not connected with CVS at all.

Unfortunately, no.  I called CVS Caremark directly (NOT the number provided in the vm) and the number they had on file for a service that my insurance provider contracts with them (not me, I do not use caremark at all or CVS pharmacies ever), was a number from 17 years prior thru a former employer.  I repeat, CVS Carmark did NOT have my cell phone number that this spoof called on.  They did not have an email, my current employer or any relevant contact information and even confirmed they had NOT MADE CONTACT, OR ATTEMPT TO CONTACT ME.  They indicated they would not call unless their was a failure with "Prior Authorization Requests", and I haven't had any PAs on my account.  SCAM, Spoof Fraud all the way.
For reference, the VM did state it was "CVS Caremark" and the call back number and long seven digit extension were not linked with the real CVS Caremark.

Robocall VM from this TN number that may appear legitimate at first.  Call back number was 844-708-9388, which if you google, immediately results in CVS Scams website.  Within the call back number was extension "4395017".  I googled this TN cell number first, because I was curious why "CVS Caremark" would be calling me.  I have never filled any prescriptions at any CVS, and did not knowingly sign up for CVS Caremark services.  To make matters more interesting, I have not swiped a credit card, debit card in my name at any CVS within the past decade!
As I did my research, I learned some insurance companies contract with CVS Caremark to provide pricing and PAs.  When I checked my insurance provider, I did not see that they used CVS Caremark.  I called CVS Caremark directly via 1-800-552-8159.  They confirmed they did NOT call me, and the number they had on file (thru an insurance provider I haven't had in seventeen years), was a phone number from seventeen years ago that belonged to my former employer.  So it was impossible for the legitimate CVS Caremark to have called my cell phone, as it wasn't information they had.
The real, legit CVS Caremark did confirm that they are aware of the robocall originating from this TN number (it's spoofed), asking people to call back.  When people do, they are asked to divulge their confirmation of identify (by saying "Yes" or "No"), their birth year.  DO NOT DO THIS.  Your responses can and will be recorded for AI generation in other scam calls.  When I called the fake 844-708-9388 number, I did not verbally respond to anything, but instead used key prompts and each variation (I tried three times) resulted in the call being disconnected.  They want you to give a verbal response, they want your personal information, and they will end up asking for a credit card number to "fulfill" some prescription.  DON'T FALL FOR IT.

Thanks. Just got a call from them about overdue prescription, but I don't use them or the mail-order service.

They called me and told me that too, but any medicine I am supposed to be taking still is getting regularly filled with no problems. They need to stop bothering me. If I need a medicine refilled, I will call my doctor; I'm not a child and don't need a medicine manager.

I have no online accounts with this place. I don't have any employers. I am on disability.  They left a message telling me one of my prescriptions is overdue. Every med I take regularly has been filled on time with no problems. The only recent one is one that was prescribed to me but it has sulfa in it and I am allergic so that is why I had the pharmacy stop that one. If my insurance is using Caremark, it is not their business that I am not refilling a prescription that I am allergic too. They must think I am some kind of a child. If I need a prescription refilled or renewed, I will ask my doctor for it. I do not need to be babysat by these people and I am not helpless, just because I am disabled.

Be cautious of this number! They called me on a Sunday with a completely automated system.  I pay to be on a "Do-Not-Solicit" list...

I don't use CVS Pharmacy, I use Walgreens. I have never used CVS pharmacy. The only info the automated system had about me was my Name. It is impossible to get in touch with a live agent.

Calling the number back leads to an automation loop with no ability to find who the company is. They just say, "Thank you for calling your Mail Service Pharmacy Provider" which is very generic and is very likely a scam as the company / entity is violating multiple FCC and FTC guidelines and regulations.

My best guess is that this is an insurance scam service in which you will get your medications, but the company / entity will be up charging your insurance. The name and lack of agent support are red flags alone.

    Beware!

Other posters here have stated that this is CVS/Caremark which is a subsidiary of CVS but has nothing to do with the actual pharmacy.  They handle claims sent in by the pharmacy that you use for your insurance company.  I'm really astonished that you did not know that since it is clearly stated in both your Evidence of Coverage and on the back of your card.

Just got a call from them today for my wife. Said they were from CVS and she had a prescription that was due to be refilled. They left a detailed message about calling them back to discuss this prescription. Neither the wife or I have EVER used CVS for prescriptions. After reading here, she will not return the call. Being elderly, we are highly suspicious of cold calls like this.
