answer the phone and a computer starts talking to you.No one ever gets on the phone

I recognized number and didn't answer. last call from 434-363-4558 April 7. According to others it is a medical alert scam about a back brace order. I will again report to FTC.

Caller ID said Unknown Name.  It's a spoofed number medical scam.

Hang up call to my answering machine.  Caller ID shows Lynchburg, VA

AARP can take their back braces and stick em where the sun don't shine. Bunch of frickin morons.

Called this morning from "Unavailable." Thanks to all that post here, so we know to block the number.

Aside from answering machine, we found the best defense was our purchase of a Panasonic phone that let's us block 250 numbers. We had a Panasonic that let us block 30 numbers, but we quickly used up the 30. All our blocked numbers are robocallers.

Do you understand the concept of a robocall? A computer randomly calls everybfreaking number in an area code or just plain randomly. If you have ever answered one of these calls, your number is flagged as live and sold to other scammers. No conspiracy by big corporations. Paranoid much?

It is MEDICAL ALERT not Medic Alert calling people. Medic Alert is a legitimate non-profit co that sells medical Identification jewelry and does not call people to sell them anything.

I agree with many.... my bottom line is this... these companies do not get charged for no answer calls... just like you an me... we make a long distance call, no pickup no charge.... I think it does more good to answer the call, let then get charged and then put the phone by the TV... the voices from the TV activate the call .... seems to work fine and is fun to boot.

fraudulent call.  tried to imply (very heavy Indian accent) that call was somehow connected to Medicare.  Started asking questions about lower back pain-  hung up.  Just wondering how many seniors truly think call is connected to Medicare and are taken advantage of.  Disgusting!

These A holes have ruined my day. I blocked them, but they keep trying & my fone rings once before blocking call. I may just turn the fone off or unplug it. What a bunch of creeps that pull this cr*p   >:-(

This number was on my caller ID today among few others.There was 6 calls to my house phone on caller ID.Only one left message and that was my dentist reminding for tomorrow's visit.
The other 5 calls-who knows.

All it said was a phone number; no name; It was a recording to follow up on requesting a free item; We did NOT give permission to receive this phone call

ditto here. Switched our land line # from time warner to uverse and now get TONS of spam robo calls.

The call from this number is fraudulent because it claims I requested info about a back brace after watching a commercial. I did not.

Got a call from 434-363-4558 showing Lynchburg, VA on caller id...they did not leave message.

I too received the same message about a back brace that I called about. Only I NEVER called about a back brace. When I attempted to call the number back, I only got music on hold. The phone never rang or sounded like it was answered in any way. I have reported this number to my state's no-call, however I doubt if anything can (or will) be done.

I agree with you completely..Do Not Call Registry IS an absolute JOKE !!!!!!!!!! I  have received way more calls since signing up....I wonder what that's all about ??????  And ditto about the back brace !!!!!
