I have a legimate business debt to a large labatory who turned me over to these guys.  I owe them $37,000 and due to business conditions can not pay now...after paying about half of the debt $30,000.  Until reading this I thought i had been dealing wiht a true colleciton firm and have sent a promsissory note to pay AND THE FIRST PAYMENT , but they would not sign it and returned another NTOE on insisting on a 100% penalty of the orginal bill. They have been so nasty and rude and said I was rude???  It made me start looking them up!!!

Received multiple calls from this calling service (recording) saying they needed to discuss a legal matter with me. They referenced a case number and asked me to call back at (440) 735-5115.
I finally got tired of it and called the number back. I told them I was not the person they were looking for and asked them to take my number off their list. It's been a few days and no call yet.

I have gotten 4 calls today. They call my home, they call my business. They speak with my employees. I told them I prefer to deal directly with IDEARC
(verizon) directly. Ms. Mason gave personal information about my account today to my employee. My employee said I was out of town and Ms. Mason lied and said she had just gotten off the phone with my wife who stated I was in town. She did not speak with me or my wife today. She is always rude when she calls and makes threats.

She leads you to believe she is an attorney with McCarthy Burgess and Wolf most resently she threatened to bring charges against me.

They are NOT a law firm.  They are a simple collection agency called "McCarthy Burgess & Wolff."  They try to make themselves come across as attorney's to "scare" people into paying, but the simple fact is, they are nothing more than pond feeders.  

Never deal with a collection agency.  If you are in a position to make a payment arrangement, deal with the creditor.  Collection agencies have no enforcement power to do anything but send letters and make phone calls.

DID YOU REPORT THEM TO THE AG?

If not - why not ?   YOU have to report them as do all others getting these same calls.  if you do not report them - nothing can be done to stop them!  

DO YOUR PART TO PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS!

In other words, you find bully tactics acceptable.  What about the poor slobs that ask for proof?  Why not give it to them? You know that there are people out there that don't owe "you" anything.  
I know, I know.....you guys "abide" by the laws. Yeah, right.....

These people are worse than anyone I've ever dealt with. nasty, rude and not willing to work with you, you can't talk to them. I've dealt with  a Kathleen Miller - very nasty person. Their goal is to harrass not collect.

Hopefully all this info will be helpful. They are NOT lawyers, just another scumbag, bogus collection company trying to steal a persons hard earned cash. I don't owe anything to anyone & they claim that I have an outstanding debt of $3,000 with Two Guys Dept Stores. Two Guys went out of business in 1982. And I never shopped there. I was 7 years old when they went out of business!

I work for the person that owes the small debt (he is working it out with the bank) and this guy Gus Perez calls this office several times a day..so nasty, arrogant and rude. when i start to get impatient at his refusal to get off the phone he asks me if im having a bad day sarcastically. i wasnt having a bad day til he called and im not even the person hes looking for!  I am a woman and he is looking for a man that works here. He also has given me all of the personal details and amount owed for the debt, which is against the law. I cant believe how many compaints are on here and how many 1000000s more that wili be. just hang up on them!!!!!

Received 2 messages on my answering machine from "Susan" at McCarthy Burgess & Wolf meant for a "Wendy Brown" who apparently owes AT&T money.  I have no idea who this "Wendy Brown" is or how they got my phone number.  I ignored the first message figuring it was just a wrong number, but yesterday "Susan" left another message for "Wendy" and even had the nerve to diss my humorous answering machine greeting! So--I changed my greeting to include "Susan" from McDumb, McDumber, and McDumbest as a prohibited caller.  I hope AT&T is proud of being affiliated with a company like this. Makes me want to dump my landline! MB&W didn't even do the due diligence required to insure they were leaving a message (and disclosing private information)to the right party.

They are not a liggit agency . Call the better business burea on these people and the telemarketers inside will stop . If you do a reverse lookup they provide a map and zoom in on it . I have been receiving calls & letters from mb&w also.  They claim I am in violation of my contract with the Berry co.  I asked for a copy of the contract. They sent me a blank one.  I have asked repeatedly for a copy of the signed contract that I am suppose to have signed.  

I have also told them that I would not talk to them on the phone and that all communications be via the mail.  I have sent all my correspondences to them via certified mail with return receipt.  They tried to not put a date on the return form but it's stamped on the front by the post office and you can get it on line with number on your receipt.  

They aren't getting a dime until they prove that I owe what they say.
