- BCHChrist people, it's good to always ask questions. But I think enough people on here have vouched that this is Godaddy. I am one of them - I just ordered some hosting off of them.
- Caller: Go Daddy
- Call type: Telemarketer
- bree replies to Morf_Almightyyou are clearly incompetent. as such i hope any endeavours you may have fall through.
- Lisa Belinda replies to DougVMust be a telemarketer.
They use "my" cell minutes, even if rejected to voicemail--so yes, their attempts to contact me by phone, in spite of the fact that I opted out, to try and sell me crap I already told them I don't want costs me more than irritation--it costs me money I'd rather spend on what "I" want. - wow replies to Morf_Almightyoh my god
- Ichiban OkaasanSo...why don't they give us a 1-800 return number to dial like most legit companies?
Curios.- Caller: GoDaddy
- james replies to mrs meeeas an ex-employee of GoDaddy I can assure you that they do make outbound unsolicited sales calls from that number. You have to call in and speak with a supervisor to be removed from the list. Also that number report you show looks pretty generic and those free reports that you get are notoriously inaccurate. Also isn't it possible that a large corporation like GoDaddy may have several DBA's? As a previous poster mentioned it is possible for a scammer to spoof their caller ID, but that is not the issue here. You have the phone number and with a little research you could have verified that it was in fact a GoDaddy number, furthermore you could have called the sales and support number and verified that they were legit calls. May be a hassle getting through the queue and odds are the rep wouldn't have any idea about the sales calls, as they are made by different teams, but with some persistence you could have figured it out and asked to be removed from future sales calls at the same time.
- jamesb007 replies to mrs meee| 19 repliesNo offense but you are misinformed and paranoid. it's good that you are aware of the potential for scammers to spoof their caller ID, but this is a non-issue 99% of the time. If you doubt the callers identity or veracity ask them for their name and a call back number. Search them online and get a number that you trust and call it, verify that the number that the first rep gave you is accurate and then ask them to transfer you to that rep.
Caller ID spoofing and interception are entirely different things, the technology to spoof a caller ID is simple and effective and that's why scammers use it. The ability to intercept phone traffic to a legitimate phone number (not voip) is an entirely different technology and not something that scammers use.
Also scammers who spoof their caller ID will generally not provide you with a call back number and will seek to get your information, whether it be address, dob, or credit card info on the first call through a variety of tactics from being overly pushy to straight up threatening... - roninIt is GoDaddy. I had an expiring domain I didn't want to renew.
- Caller: GoDaddy
- MatLegit numbers leave messages. This one didn't. GoDaddy or not, it's blocked on my phone now.
- PintoponyrusThis number is definitely a godaddy.com call center. They were extremely helpful. Corrected my account in the time I was on the phone with them. If this was a scam, they would not have access to my account and would not have been able to make the account changes. They also did not ask for a credit card because I had previously selected a payment method to be used when I did the original set up.
- Caller: Godaddy.com
- ones and zerosReceived 11 calls from 1:41 PM and 1:42 PM on the same day. None of the calls get through because my phone has a blocking feature. Calls don't ring or get to go to voice mail either. They do show up in the call log. Only reason I saw them was because I was looking in the log to call back someone who had called me a few hours earlier instead using the name directory.
There has been some arguing if the number displayed is actually GoDaddy or not. I can tell you 1) the number displayed is GoDaddy and 2) the persons calling you are not from GoDaddy. The number is faked.
I have never done business with GoDaddy and never have own a domain/website.- Caller: unknown scammer
- PsyraIf you look at your GoDaddy statements, you'll see this:
Billing Questions?
(480) 505-8855
24/7 Sales & Support
(480) 505-8877
Draw your own conclusions. They called me the day of my various renewals.- Caller: Godaddy.com
- Call type: Event reminder
- Eric SThis is for sure a scam, I called the number back and an automated machine came on, it sounds exactly like Go Daddy's, Then someone came on the line, and Said they were with Go Daddy Business Support. I gave him my account number, and pin, and he must have hacked into Go Daddy's system because he was able to tell me my domain, and that my cc was expired... These Guys Are GOOD! They must be the most elaborate scammers I have ever dealt with.
- Caller: Go Daddy
- ReneeI do not have a godaddy account so why would they be calling me? I don't trust random numbers that call and don't leave VMs. Seems way too fishy
- Joe HThere is nothing fraudulent about GoDaddy calls from this number. You might want to smoke a little less crack. It's making you paranoid!
- Caller: GoDaddy
- DaisyPre-recorded message from Dannica Patrick welcoming me to the godaddy team. Another voice also encouraging me to call their customer service with any problems. Seems legit, as I purchased a domain yesterday.
- Caller: Go Daddy
- bluebonnetronThe thing is, they're not courtesy calls, they are sales calls. They feign interest in your website but their purpose is to get you to buy the additional services they promote on that call. I found it annoying, too.
Like dude, I just bought what I needed. If I needed help choosing the products and services, woulda done that when I ordered all the crap I needed to get going. And don't call pretending to be helpful when you and I both know the purpose of the call is for you to promote your additional services.
I can see companies that don't have your business trying to get it, but sales-calling customers is stupid because it annoys them.
Def not a courtesy call.- Caller: GoDaddy.com
- Call type: Telemarketer
- RabbitI have no doubt this is GoDaddy, as I just let a hosting plan expire. They've been emailing me frantically for weeks, trying to get me to renew, so it figures they'd start phoning now.
- Caller: GoDaddy
- Call type: Telemarketer
- GoDaddyUserIt's Danica Patrick calling to welcome you to the GoDaddy team!!! No need for alarm folks.. your information is still safe.Take a deep breath and learn to relax a little. Go enjoy a cold beverage or have a deep tissue message.
- Caller: GoDaddy.com
- JLWOk people... I JUST got done verifying (from GoDaddy directly) that this IS a certified outbound GoDaddy phone number from their Corporate HQ here in Scottsdale.
This is NOT a 3rd party telecommunications company or a scammer/phisher.
If you have private registration, do remember that the hosting company does have your information (otherwise how would they call you if there were problems), and the right through FCC regulations, to contact you.- Caller: GoDaddy
