- Steve replies to a| 1 replySorry. Won't work. They keep calling me even though I "removed" my number from their list in early September.
My suggestion: use very foul language and threaten their children with abuse if they continue to call. It may seem cruel, but life's too short not to have a little payback. - Bill in Fort Collinscall to my cell phone. Not sure how they got the number
- T.Received call at 8:01 p.m. EST. Caller hung up upon reaching answering machine.
There shouldn't be a need to remove a number via the company website when the number is already on the national Do Not Call registry. - job searcher in CACalled on a Sunday afternoon but no msg left

- smokerA 'research/survey company',I was skeptical at first, but it turns out, they got my # from a coupon form i had filled out, and of course those people sold my #/info. But since i'm a smoker and this was a cigarette study, I'll now get 12 packs of free cigarettes to try and a $25 check upon completion of the trial. All spam calls aren't bad.

- Fedup replies to Employee| 1 replyHow about you get a real job and stop calling people who put themselves on the Do Not Call List?
- Steve MJust received a call from them, they asked for me by name, and when I picked up, they hung up. Morons.
- Pissed OffI've been getting multiple calls from them as well. Here's what you do: Call Barnett Research directly (617) 746-2600. Use *67 to hide you number. Since it is not a 1-800# you are calling it will work. If you call after hours you can access the company directory where you can leave as many messages as you want on Bernyce Hayes's voicemail box (She is the Founder of Bernett Research) And/or leave just as many for Matt Hayes, the President and CEO of Bernett. Each time I get a call from Barnett, they'll get a call from me. They may just delete them, but they still have to cycle through the voicemail first. heh heh heh OR, you can call during business hours and try to get through to them where you can really give them a piece you your mind

I'll be forwarding them my cell phone bill to pay if this keeps up. I agree that surveys can be done online or via the mail. Why not put your money back into the economy and use the US Mail instead of running up our bills.

- a previous BR employee replies to JThey are NOT telemarketers. Telemarketers try to SELL you something. They DO NOT SELL anything. Bernett is one of the biggest companies in America who conduct market research, and they are hired to conduct market research by THOUSANDS OF MAJOR COMPANIES. They are NOT "Scammers" (as you referred to them as). They don't care about your financial information. They are simply fulfilling their contract through whatever financial company hired them to call you. The only way to get them to stop calling is to ask them to put your name on THEIR DO NOT CALL LIST. The National do not call list is irrelevant, as it ONLY APPLIES to people who are TRYING TO SELL YOU SOMETHING (i.e. NOT Bernett Research).
- JESSICA replies to VMMALL National Do Not Call Lists only apply to companies trying to sell you something. As a company who's hired by major companies to conduct MARKET RESEARCH, they are NOT trying to sell you ANYTHING. The next time they call, ask to be put on THEIR DO NOT CALL LIST. It is the only way they will stop.
I know, I used to work for them. - Employee replies to Uncle Stan| 5 repliesWhen you register your phon with the DNC list, listen to the recording. It does not apply to market research firms or non profit organizations. I work for Bernett research and have for a couple of years. We call you, yes we do. If you don't answer we call back untill we get an answer. Only because we are trying to reach you, and have no way to know if we missed you or you were ignoring the call. We are not the only market research company that does this. there are thousands of them- all legal. If you answer and JUST HANG UP without saying anything you WILL get called back. We have no way of knowing if you hung up or if the call was disconnected somehow. If you DON'T want to do the survey, Listen to the brief intro and tell us you are not interested. We WILL NOT call you back. A lot of the surveys are " Blind ' surveys. Meaning, we do not tell you what it is about, so the survey is not biased in any way. Some of them have a reward, such as the asking above, or even better yet....FREE stuff or CASH! We do not tell you this upfront, because we want your HONEST opinions. We don't want you just to fill in the blanks so you get paid. Your opinion really does count. Market research is a vital part of the U.S. economy. Every company does it to see what their customers want, or what they might be lacking in. If you owned a company, you would have the need to do it too. It is important to get feedback from customers ONLY to provide the best products and services you can. It has been going on for many hundreds of years and will continue for many hundred more. It is one of the most important parts of economy. You probabally like to read consumer reports? Well all that was done through SURVEYS! That is what the information is used for. If you ever read a ratings on a company before you dealt with them, guess what....ANOTHER SURVEY! If you want to reap the information, but not provide any feedback yourself, then just listen to our into to see what it is about and say ' No thanks. ' and we will NOT CALL YOU BACK. But just remember, if you do not like something about a product or a service, you have the power to change it through your opinion. If you do not want to provide your opinion, thats okay too, but don't complain about it later
- hey replies to JasonThe National Do Not Call List does not apply to market research firms or non profit ( not for profit ) organizations. DO YOUR REASEARCH!!
- No NO replies to J| 1 replyYou need to do some research yourself on market research practices. If that was the case, they would not still be in business 20 years later.......Oh yeah and by the way, your opinion DOES NOT COUNT!
