Pacifictel called me on 10/4/11 with the number 360-529-6163; lower interest rates called me on 3/16/12 from 503-902-8477.  reported immediately to DNC.  If I weren't looking for a job and had resumes out there, I would be changing my phone to unlisted unpublished.  As it is, my phone and answering machines are turned off.  I just check the caller ID a few times a day.

@Anderson & others.  Because these scumbags are spoofing phone numbers to hide their tracks.  Also they operate from over-seas making it much more difficult to track them down & stop them from making these silly calls.  They just move onto to using a different phone number every week or so.

They don't care about the US Do Not Call list.  If this group were in the US, I'd doubt they'd keep calling.

Best you can do is never answer a number you do not know, or employ some technology to block their number(s).

(Phone call from this number today at 1:09 pm Central, which I did not answer.)

When I press 1 to talk to a live person, I wait, grab my referees whistle, then when they answer, I let them have it.  It makes me feel good, clears out my air passages, and then I am good to go again, until they call again.

These idiots just called. Left no message. We are on the do not call list which doesn't matter anyway, obviously. Will probably report them to FCC or The Do NOT Call List. I have done this in the past with another company that kept harrassing us and I actually got a response. I used the report system from the Do NOt call list. Maybe if everyone reported to them every telemarket call they will do something about making the do not call list enforcable and with consequences. Between the telemarketers and the polictical calls, it is making me angry and tired of it. Unfortunately we have no recourse. By the way the idiots were from Pacifictel.

Received a call from this number at a little after 1:00 PM.  Apparently it wasn't important enough to leave a message on my machine.  After reading all the reports on this number, I came to the same conclusion I always do after getting calls from an unknown number....it's a SCAM!

    Narrow Minded?
I just took a call from this number.  The caller identified herself as a "qualifier" for a company called "Card Services".  They were offering a 6.9% to zero percent interest on credit card balance transfers.  When I refused to give my credit card numbers to be qualified, the caller said that I was just too narrow minded to participate.  Hummm, I think they are up to no good.

    Harassed homeowner replies to Amy
I called their number to complain, too. When it asked me to put in my number for their "do not call" list, I didn't do anything, hoping to be connected to a human so I could complain. After about 8 seconds of silence, the automated voice informed me that my number had been successfully entered into their list. TOTAL FRAUD! It's just a recording that pauses to give you the impression that your number will be removed.

They call about twice per week but I never answer a call if I don't recognize the number.  I just let the voice mail take a message.  I've never missed an "important" call yet.  If it really IS important, they would leave a message.

People please read carefully.  When you a get a call from these individuals you indirectly give them your number by pressing "1" to remove yourself from their dialer list. Unbeknownst to you when you do this you are simply acknowledging to a computer that you a in fact a live person & they will continue to call or even sell your info!  The same thing applies when asked to enter your number to be "removed," you are acknowledging that you are a LIVE person & they will continue to call.

The better solution is to log online to your phone provider & make use of the block service they provide you for free.  Simply enter the offending number from your caller I.D & the call will be blocked. Soon you will notice a cycle of foreign number & then they start to gradually stop.

    I hope this helps.

I really wish the Do Not Call Registry would work.  I get daily phone calls from lowering credit cards or go back to school type messages.

These are the same scammers from Credit Card Services that have been doing robo calls to my number for YEARS.  I file a complaint with the Federal Do Not Call Registry every time I get one of these calls but that does no good.  They keep changing phone numbers so even blocking a particular number on your phone is worthless.  Supposedly there is a court action that will put these scammers out of business, but that was over a year ago and the calls persist.  I am in favor of bringing back public hanging as a fit punishment for these idiots.  Maybe if a few of these scammers were hanged others might be discouraged from doing these calls.

just received at 2pm today.   Message said I was eligible for a lower rate....never said the company name.   Call showed up as PACIFICTEL.

I just filed an online complaint with the FCC - seems they may do more than filing the FTC Do Not Call Complaint system.   From now on, I am filing with both.   Here is the link for the FCC complaint site:

I keep getting calls from "Credit Card Services" using different phone numbers.  It starts out with a recording to lower the interest rate on my credit cards to 6.9%.  Then I'm instructed to press 1 to speak to a customer service representative to lower my rates or press 3 to be removed from their call list.  I have pressed 3 many times, but they still call me.  So now I press 1 to speak to someone to ask to be taken off their call list and every time they hang up on me.  I don't know why these phone numbers cannot be traced.  I'll bet if I made some obscene phone calls from my phone, it would be traced in a New York minute.

    Phone Fraud
The reason a large portion of the people are having trouble with this number is because this number is being "Spoofed" by Delta Outsource Group, a collection agency located in O'Fallon, MO.  They will try and gather enough information to create an account.  Many bank accounts have been drained by this establishment and many "Spoofed" phone numbers have been fraudulently used to aquire information.
This not only hurts people by the harrassment, but also hurts the establishment that the number belongs to.

Note: Insight Services is affiliated with Delta Outsource Group.
