- Rob-TexasI get a lot of calls like this. If I don't recognize the caller on my caller ID I just let it go to the answering machine. This one doesn't leave a message. Any caller who is looking for you in particular will leave a message. You don't have to pick up every call that comes in.
- Caller: Pacifictel
- JoAnnaJust got a call on my cell phone. Ignored it, they left a voicemail. Woman's voice robo-calling and in the middle of a sentence, all the voicemail said was "have a nice day." I would if these idiots would stop calling my phone number...
- DLBThanks for the heads-up. My number is now a DO NOT CALL! They have been calling me for weeks but I never answered because I didn't recognize the number. Hope this will take care of it.
- LeighI blocked one of their numbers and they called on this one today. They leave an automated message offering lower interest rates. One of many who ignores the do not call list.

- PainfulDeathToAllTelemarketers replies to pixiesmomI've had the same unlisted, unpublished number for 20 years and have been on the DNC registry since it was created (even though I think it's a big joke), and I regularly renew my number, but I still get calls from all kinds of different numbers I don't want. You can spend the money to get unlisted if you want, but it probably won't help, since it hasn't stopped them from bothering me.
- DeathToAllTelemarketers replies to Opps I did it againI think I'm in love. Will you marry me? We can kill the remaining ones together.
- Wendy CooperHere's an interesting tidbit of information -- This is what is listed when you google Pacifictel under the "privacy policy" section of their web site:

I use Amazon.com ALL THE TIME. I called them and they said they are not affiliated with Pacifictel and that they would be turning the matter over to their legal department. Then, this afternoon, I received another email from Amazon stating that while they "could not give me any information on the issue" they assure me they are working on the matter. Can't give me any information? Really? - Boston MACalled number back, recording said, "please enter the number you wish to enter into our do not call list." i did nothing. seconds later recording said, "thank you. the number has been added to our DNC list." huh? i called from Skype, so good luck to them adding a non existent number.
they call my land line all the time. no idea. no message. - Mike Davis replies to Amy| 1 replyThey will not take you off the list. You have just verified a live number and now they will sell your number to other scammers. Never respond to these calls; just ignore them. That way, they will not know if it is a good number or not.
- The WarpigIt is illegal for any company to leave a pre-recorded sales message on your phone without your written permission. http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/08/tsr.shtm. That was written into law in 2008.
They called today and I missed the call. Next time I will get the company info, I always do.- Call type: Telemarketer
- MargeI got a call today from Pacifictel 503-902-8479 and I pushed 1 just to see if anyone would answer.
A guy answered saying, "Do you want to lower your credit card rate?" I said, no, but I am on the
do not call list and I want you to take me off your list. He hung up on me. I then made a complaint
to the FTC. I'm going to try Dewayne's method now.- Caller: Pacifictel

- Jerome JohnsonMy attorney said that because I leased the subscriber line and equipment that is activated when anyone dials that I have the right to charge them a service fee for use of the line and equipment. Consequently I placed an ad in the legal section of the newspaper where my exchange is located informing all callers that they were subject to a $10 fee each time the line and equipment were activated by their call and an additional per second fee for whatever time was used to leave a message or that kept me from using the line. I recorded this legal notice on my answering machine as well.
Sometimes it tales a little work to pin down an address for the caller but once they receive a letter and bill from my attorney I rarely hear from them again.- Caller: PACIFICTEL

- LeeI have told them time and time again NOT to call and to remove my number. All they do is hang up on you and 2-3 weeks later they are calling again. I am listed on the DO NOT CALL list, but this is NOT stopping them. I consider this to be harassing calls and the company needs to be stopped!
