Don't ever answer a number you don't recognize.Punch your  ringer off and go back to what you were doing. You can always investigate the number later from caller ID.You will find web site on most all these calls.They finally decide you are on permanent vacation You can also tell them the person they seek is your sibling and his/her Funeral was held last month.

Use Mr. Number to block their calls.  They are under "pick up and hang up" so I'm not bothered with a ring or their crazy messages.  I agree that when you press one you only get on MORE lists because they sell your number.  The Do-Not-Call list?  They don't care.  They can't be caught.  I've reported these places time and time again.  I don't even get a response from do-not-call.  Waste of taxpayer money if you ask me.

I have received calls from PACIFICTEL, over the last few months, from several different numbers.
Also have received a call from LOWER INTEREST, at a number that was 2 digits different from this call (503 902-8477) - Coincidence? - I doubt it.

4/3/12  11am  They talk over my answering machine message stating they will lower my interest rate, blah, blah, this will be the last call blah, blah.  Lately I receive 3-4 calls per week from random unknown numbers leaving same or similar messages.  So frustrating and unable to STOP the calls because they change phone numbers as often as I change my underwear.

Recorded call from 'Rachel of Credit Memer services to 'lower your interest rate'.  Callerid said Pacifictel! Have received messages from various numbers over the years with same recording.  I always report to Do Not Call and FCC.  Today I pressed option to talk to rep.  She asked if I had credit cards and I said 'lots'.  Asked where they were located and she said Orlando Florida.  I asked if there was number to call back if we got disconnected and she hung up...  Have talke to them several times in the past and they always hang up if they think you are trying to 'catch them'.  Called the # back and it was to put on Do not Call List.  Have done this many times...they are not going to stop calling!

Name ID says PacificTel -- They say they will lower my interest rates but wants me to provide credit card numbers. As soon as I said I needed time to think - got an immediate hang-up. Anybody who just hangs up without a goodbye or we'll call back has to be on the sacm side.

I agree with the previous poster about NOT adding your number to their list. If you call them back, wait and see if the recorded message doesn't pause, then tell you your number has been removed even though you didn't do anything. It is deceptive. I tried to block the number on my phone, and it couldn't be blocked.

I feel kind of bad and I'm a little embarrassed to admit what i did.  I located the call center for this group and I accidentally killed everyone there.  I was just going to go in and scare them a little bit, but I didn't realize that my machine gun was on full-auto and loaded.  What can I say?  I'm really sorry.

Yes, I agree with you.....it is NEVER good to call a number back or to press any numbers to be Sopposibly removed from their list!

Just picked up the reciever and hung it back up!!! If I want a credit card.....I will get one! There's a reason I don't get one..........I DON'T NEED ONE!!!! STOP CALLING ALREADY!

Keeeeeeeeeeeep recieving calls from this number. Want it to stop..

Robocall from Rachel from Cardholder Services telling me there's nothing wrong but still offering to lower my credit card interest rates.  This is a scam.  Don't bother speaking to these crooks.  Hang up and immediately report them to www.donotcall.gov.  You may think it doesn't do any good, but they cannot help us if they don't know about all the scams and spoofed numbers these crooks are using.

Another popular scam occurring now is the 'take a survey, win a free cruise' robocall.  This is also a scam.  Do not give these illegal telemarketers the time of day.  Add them to your phone's address book under SCAM or block all their numbers (if you can).  Again, immediately report each and every scam call that you receive to www.donotcall.gov.

I have been receiving calls from 503-902-8479 and have repeatedly followed the directions to be removed from this list and am still getting called.  Today I waited to speak with a sales person who hung up on me when I told her why I was calling.

Same old message/recording, different phone number, caller id, but it's the same loser company. Reported to our landline carrier and www.donotcall.gov.  PacificTel sucks!

I call a call again today and everyday and today I told them that the number they called was a Sperm bank . Lol

My tel. id shows Pacifictel ...what for in AL ????? Of course they hung up on me !
If you work for one of these outfits ...I curse you ...there is no excuse for making a living like this !

I answered the call, something I don't usually do, but I felt like playing with them a little.  It was a recording and one of the options was to hit the number 3 if I didn't want to hear form them again.  Well see.

Got a call from this number about 5 minutes ago and of course left no message. These people also have used numbers of 971-217-9538 and 971-220-1118. If they ever check records of potential clients they would know I don't need need lower mortage rates.

I also did the same but I still receive calls. They have not removed my name from the list. I don't know what else to do I just pick up the receiver and put it back down.

I am going to try doing what Dewayne has suggested and see if that works. I didn't know I could do that. Thank you for the information.
