who is on alltell or verizon?  is this a merger thing???

I got a call the other day and didnt answer because I didnt recognize the #. So I googled it and got here. These people got ahold of my husband about a month ago and did a survey then a week later they sent the movies. We did watch them trying to be true to his word. Now they call every day and won't quit. I think thats a little extensive on their half. We have been ignoring the calls the last two weeks. Yet they keep calling. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I answered the call because I thought it was a friend from New Mexico.  Then the pitch started. I asked where he got my cell number and he said that the numbers were being randomly generated.  I told him I never conduct unsolicited transactions over the phone and he persisted.  He told me he was calling from Utah, and I said, "That's funny, I thought 505 was a New Mexico area code."  Then a recording with their web address came up. I agree that if this organization is legit they are making it hard to believe with this kind of campaign.  I am going to report them in the case that they are not a legitimate non-profit.

I got this call a couple days ago. I work at Circuit City and they called me while I was in a meeting. I excused myself and answered to:

Me: Hello?

Them: Hi! This is Jesse from Kids First. How are you today?

Me: Umm, fine. Who are you?

Them: Its ok, I understand. Thank you for your time.

Yeah my mom just got this call on her AT&T cellphone. So, the first thing we did was Google the area code, which is in New Mexico (which we thought was kind of odd because we live in rural Indiana.) Then we Googled the whole phone number and found a bunch of websites like this (about complaints and reports from this number.) But it turns out, it's just a company called Kids First trying to advertise by sending random people DVDs. I don't think it's a scam, but I still wouldn't advise anybody to get involved with it.

got a call at 9am, didn't answer. I have AT&T cell phone, so this was interesting how many AT&T people got similar calls

Hey thanks guys for the details on this phone scam! I never got any calls before until this morning at exactly 10am from this phone number. I thought it might be my ex-boyfriend calling from someone else's phone, then I plugged the area code in (I live in indiana so it was odd to see -505) and found this site! Awesome site -- I love knowing who's calling without having to answer!  Thanks guys :]

I got a phone call from this number, and didn't get to the phone in time to answer it, but it is listed online as a telemarketer number from Kids First.  I don't know who they are, but I hope they don't call again!!

Got a call from 505-247-1947 but I missed it. Has anyone figured out where they get their generated list?

Ok... Let me tell you our rules... and we have them...
We have to tell you who we are... who we are with and our reason for calling... at the very beginning... Gives you the chance to decide if you want to give us the chance or not...

Then with certain states you have to have permission from the person you have called to continue...

They usually have automatic dialers... Which means you never know who you are going to be talking to... Plus... Even if you are on the DO NOT CALL list... Means nothing really... you just have to tell us that your number is on there and you will be taken off the calling list... your number my have been put on the calling list right before you went on the no call list... It takes 30 days for your number to be fully out of most systems...

Also if most of you people would learn to not be rude to telemarketer they tend to be very nice people... I know that their calls are annoying... and pesky... but that is their way of feeding their kids... I mean they didn't just wake up one morning and say "Oh well I think I am going to call this man in Ohio... and bug him" No it is what they are paid to do...

Some of us actually have gone home crying... EVERY night because of the way some of you RUDE people talked to us... We don't want to bother you... and some of us are the most shy people you would ever meet in person...

If they are starting to use recording... Well I commend them... you cannot make a computer cry...

Next time think before you start yelling at telemarketers... and just politely say "No Thanks" and just hang up...

Most places are NOT allowed to leave messages... it is against most laws... SO that is why you didn't get a message or voicemail... I mean if it were a "!!!SCAM!!!" I think they would want your money and leave you a message telling you to get in contact with you... since they did not... You are NOT being SCAMMED!!!

Then just tell them that!

I missed this phone call as well and when I called it back it kept telling me it was busy and to try again later.  Everytime I called back, that's what I got.  I get calls from this number at least once a day for the past 2 weeks.
