Yeah, I got the same call. Guy said call would only last 60 secs. I asked him how he got my cell number and he hung up.

Phoned my Alltel cell phone at 5.11pm on 5/20.
Offered to send free DVDs for me to review.
Apparently, they have discovered exchanges that belong to Alltel.
Either that, or they have a list (if out-of-date) of Alltel numbers.

i just got a call from these morons. i live  in  ohio, didnt recognize the area code so i googled the number. i didnt answer because its 8 in the morning. seems like some sort of scam to me.

First off, I thought this was a phone scam and I remember about a year ago i heard on the news that cell phone companies are now starting to sell our number to outside companies.  That is what has happened folks.  Upset and outraged that I got a call from outside my calling aera from New Mexico,I called 505-247-1942 that showed up on my ID and got a busy signal.   I skipped all the information I could find on phone number.  First, I found out that the phone number "505-247-1942" is throught a company called " Qwest Corporation" who is a single bell operating company leading provider of voice, video, and data services across America and set to a company called Kids first.  Second, skipped it a company called Kids First (www.kidsfirst.org) 505-989-8076 and called and talked a girl named Lori.  She explained that the company "Kids First" hired an outside company out of New Mexico (telemarkers) who are tring to get people to learn about their company and children literacy.  She advised these calls are not a SCAM and this is a realy website.  She also advised, she has also recived thousand of calls in regards to this matter as well. SO THERE YOU HAVE IT FOLKS !!!   It's not a scam.  "Kids first" is a Coalition for Quality childrens media (CQCM),film festival and the kids first program evaluate and rate the best movies, videos, DVDs.  As yes, thank your cell phone provider for selling you number off to the telemarkers....These numbers are selected at random....

My husband rec'd a call from 505-247-1942 yesterday on his Sprint/Nextel cell phone while he was working and the caller pissed him off.  Today I rec'd a phone call from the same number on my cell phone which was a missed call, I went in and googled the number and this is what I found.  If this is indeed a legal fund raiser then they should not be calling people on their cell phones or home phone numbers.  In this day and age people need to protect themselves and this has scam all over it.

These Scammers called my Unlisted CELL PHONE on 5/28/08 11:39 am, in Ohio.  Why this New Mexico outfit is harassing Ohio residents is unknown.

I have a real problem with this Kids First outfit.  The man said they were calling "everyone on my exchange, all 10,000 of them."   So much for "cell phone privacy"  

I plan to file a complaint against Kids First with the New Mexico Attorney General, and encourage others to do likewise.  KIds First is apparantly a sleazy rip-off organization.

Yeah, I just got a call from Jesse from Kids First... It was totally automated because there was a glitch in the audio. He went from telling me about a survey to saying "Thanks anyway", with a bunch of electronic popping and then the call ended. I guess the tape's wearing out.

I also live in Ohio with a 740 area code, only I have AT&T.

This is a scam. Do not answer. It just called me 7:32 pm (Ohio time?) I had two numbers like this one my past phone bill..two started with 937's..ended up both being from Afghanistan and costing me 30 bucks a piece..total [***] scam do noooot answer..trust me

Caller said the same to me ....that he tried random numbers.
He tried to tell me he had two free dvd movies from a nonprofit organization called Kids First. When I told him only two people have my number and I don't appreciate him calling me on it. He hung up on me.
I called him back and get nothing but busy signals!

Wanted to send 2 movies(DVDs) that would appeal to children for free
