i got the call at 10am eastern time(i live in ohio). i didnt answer, but i got a busy signal when i called back.

I got a call from this number and my friend called it back on her phone and it said that I had to wait for assistence and started playing this freakyy music. I don't know what it was but it was weird.

These people called our house last week (937 in Ohio - Time Warner phone).  They identified themselves as Kids First and spoke (I'll use the term lightly) w/my fiance.  My fiance and the Kids First guy actually argued.  So I don't think they're all automated.  He (Kids First) said they were non-profit and could call if they wanted too.  

Today they called his cell phone (AT&T).

just got this call today did not answer it, how can they call if i am on the do not call list?

they called me earlier this morning,i dont answer numbers i dont know, so i decided to google it to see if i could find out who it was on the online phone book. Glad i decided not to answer. Im in Ohio and my number is on the not to call list.

Ditto to all the Ohio people.  I am in 947 area code and got the call at 11:55.  Did not answer and Googled and got this.  I wish I would have answered.  I would have gotten more info.

"First off, I thought this was a phone scam and I remember about a year ago i heard on the news that cell phone companies are now starting to sell our number to outside companies.  That is what has happened folks.  Upset and outraged that I got a call from outside my calling aera from New Mexico,I called 505-247-1942 that showed up on my ID and got a busy signal.   I skipped all the information I could find on phone number.  First, I found out that the phone number "505-247-1942" is throught a company called " Qwest Corporation" who is a single bell operating company leading provider of voice, video, and data services across America and set to a company called Kids first.  Second, skipped it a company called Kids First (www.kidsfirst.org) 505-989-8076 and called and talked a girl named Lori.  She explained that the company "Kids First" hired an outside company out of New Mexico (telemarkers) who are tring to get people to learn about their company and children literacy.  She advised these calls are not a SCAM and this is a realy website.  She also advised, she has also recived thousand of calls in regards to this matter as well. SO THERE YOU HAVE IT FOLKS !!!   It's not a scam.  "Kids first" is a Coalition for Quality childrens media (CQCM),film festival and the kids first program evaluate and rate the best movies, videos, DVDs.  As yes, thank your cell phone provider for selling you number off to the telemarkers....These numbers are selected at random...."

i just got this call on my alltel phone and a didnt pick it up. i googled it and got here first, but what would happen if i picked it up? how did they get my number?

I asked the guy how he got my private cell phone number and he said since he is not selling anything he has a list of numbers to call. I told him not to call my cell phone again and hung up. Oh and I'm from Ohio and have Cingular.

Also have a Montana area code, recieved call from this same number...

Just got a call from them and I listened to his spiel, but the moment I said I wasn't interested, he hung up without another word or even a good-bye.  The whole thing came across like some fringe group trying to push "safe TV for our kids by making everything we don't like illegal".

i live in Michigan and just got a call from jesse from  kids frist at(8:45pm) i just  hung up then went online to see were the number was calling from i found this page and am now i'm  reporting it. will they call back or do they only call once?

about "kids first" he didn't like the questions i was asking and hung up on me.  he wanted my address.

Got this call a couple of weeks ago and actually picked up (I was driving and didn't check the number first)  Decided to give it a try.  They did actually send the dvd's and they weren't bad to watch!  Not actually a scam though it is annoying that they would call on my cell.

I allowed them to send the dvd's, which they did, a couple of weeks ago.  I don't think it is bad and it is not a scam.  They just want you to watch the dvd's and then answer a survey about them.  I actually enjoyed the dvd's they sent and you get to keep them so I don't think it's bad.

I actually took their free DVDs.  The two movies weren't all that super professional since some of them were pretty old.  Good values though, which is probably what they are trying to promote.
I asked the guy straight up what the catch was.  The catch is that in two weeks or so, they will call you back to get your feedback on the free movies (part of the deal of getting the videos).  It is during this feedback call that they will try and sell you more of the videos.

I got a call from this number and gave them my address.
I thought it was just a simple thing that wasn't going to do no wrong.
Am I mistaken and if so should I do something about it?
