- number| 1 replyI recieved a call and a vm from this number. A woman left a message at first saying she was from Bloomingdales, then Macy's...she stated that my order wasn't going to ship and that my acct was going to be credited. I called Macy's Cust Svc and they were not aware of any call and stated that my product is in process to ship...Very Strange!
- p-town macy's shopperIt was Macy's calling to make sure an expensive item I ordered online was to be shipped to the address I stated since it was different than my billing address they had on file. Nice to see someone checking security once in awhile.
- Caller: Macy's Consumer Protection
- JerseyShoreIt's macy's customer service...they called, did't leave a message..i called back and they were just calling to confirm they had received my payment
- Caller: Macys Customer Service
- StaceyYes, it is Macy's customer service in Mason, Ohio. They call to confirm orders placed on the internet. What a pain! Since I didn't feel comfortable giving her information over the phone, she's now cancelling my order and said I needed to call the fraud department to reinstate it.Won't be ordering from Macy's anymore! I do appreciate a fraud check, but everyeon always warns you NOT to give information over the phone!
- True numberThey really are the credit department for Macy's, Bloomingdales, and VISA though they may have the wrong number for the person they are looking for - they called for someone who lived here years ago - basically they call all known numbers for the person. Spoke with a very nice woman today (who immediately answered what company she was with when I asked) after someone called and left a message 'about a very important business matter' and she helped to figure out who they were calling about then deleted my phone number as that person's contact. Did not ask me for any account numbers, just name that they called about, phone number they called, and then street address when she couldn't find the right info with the first 2 pieces of info.

Macy's & Bloomingdales [credit accounts factored to Citicard] - They fail to take appropriate actions in verifying credit card application data so that you can have them call you claiming that you owe them - Macy's, Bloomingdale's - money on a card which may be in $1000s but it is not your card - just your phone number for an account that was opened in a totally different state from your number/home - They are terrible - absolute failure to verify data! - AngieI have not recieved any phone calls from macys but I just wanted to say as a previous employee please be respectful of the agents that are calling you. If you are being contacted by macys/bloomingdales its becuase you have either placed an order or someone used your info to placce an order and they just want to verify that its not fraud. Or you owe them money. If they call and you have not done any business with macys it could be because they have the wrong phone number for a customer. Macys does not do "cold calling" (calling random people) So instead of complaining about phone calls stop and make sure that someone hasn't placed an order under your info or tried to open a credit card with your info.

- Blowitoutyourear| 3 repliesThis number is an auto dialer that calls idiots, the lazy and deadbeats who don't pay their bills on time
- MahzSo I got the call around 8:20 AM PDT I just dialed that # and they are closed for the day as Mason OH is EDT. But their answering message clearly ID'd it as Macy's Credit. So I called a few more #'s and got bupkis, zilch, nada. No one could find a reason for me to have received such a call. No recent charges, account in good standing. My next bill has new charges of under 50 bucks. Everything seems kosher. So, what to do? Sit back and keep an eye on the situation. That and maybe call that # tomorrow. Oh, they left no message on my answering machine. As John Lennon sang, "Strange days indeed. Most peculiar mama."
- Caller: Macy's Credit Offices
- MahzGood morning one and all.. In my previous post I indicted I'd been called and no message left. I called them back and got the response I had called Macy's Credit Center but it was after normal business hours. So I made a point of getting up early and using my peachy-keen Costco calling card to call them. After being on hold for less than a minute or so I was connected to an agent who told me it was courtesy call to let me know my account was past due. I asked if he'd bet me a thousand bucks on that. He asked for my acct. # which I provided. After a moment of silence he said my balance was under fifty bucks and I wouldn't even get the bill for it until early April. He apologized and said obviously a mistake had been made. I agreed Macy's had dropped the ball on this one.So I shall sit back and wait and see if I get more calls or not. And, friends, always remember to drink Old Man Moses prune juice. That's the one with the slogan on the label which says, "Let my people go." Shalom Ya'll

- Mahz replies to BlowitoutyourearI gather you've gained this knowledge through personal experience? You know, it's better to remain silent and be thought of as a fool than to speak and remove all doubt. Thanks for proving it to be true.
- sean sit's kind off odd bc I work for macys loss prevention an I too received a call today from this number while I was working. I do not even have a macys card.. I will investigate into this...

- onedaybon replies to Irate!| 5 repliesThe number is from Macy's Department Stores. I received a call and it was so I could receive my deceased mother's death benefit. It might be in your best interest to contact them because somebody may have left you as the beneficiary on their life insurance. Also, the deceased person may have had some stock in Met Life Insurance which you would be entitled to also as the beneficiary.
Sometimes we run around so suspicious of everybody and everything that an opportunity passes by. - DGReceived a call asking if I made a purchase with Macy's. When I said no I was advised someone had made a fraudulent charge and recommend I call my credit card company and report it. I did and found that at least a dozen fraudulent charges were made in the last day. Thank you Macy's consumer protection department!!!! If it wasn't for them the fraud could have gone on for days before ever finding out.

- Frustrated VictimI recv'd a call from 513-398-5221. A lady (who wouldn't tell me her name) called and said that she was verifying an order placed under my name and number. (cell phone number which is unlisted). She said that the order was made from someone in IA and was to be delivered to OH. Confused, I asked what this was all about since I have NEVER ordered anything from Macy's. My number has never been posted to their account either has my name. I told her I wasn't from either IA or OH and when I wouldn't give her any infromation, she told me the order number and the amount ($310.64) and then said to call the CB to make sure no one was using my SSN. She gave me the number of 888-766-0009, which I have yet to call because it's obviously after hours. She also gave me the number to the Fraud Department for Macy's but when I called, they 'refused' to tell me their name. As a bill collector for 10+ years, something is VERY wrong here! I'm certain that they skiptraced my cell phone number but when they gave me someone elses bank info as well as the name of the bank ... THATS NOT RIGHT! If it was Macy's fraud department and they were giving out valid information, as they did, I would NEVER do business with them. A lot of sorting out tomrrow .... !!! As someone that's worked in the finance world for 10+ years, I dont appreciate someone 'attempting' to mess with my credit!

- Kathy| 1 replyJust got a call from this number. Since I screen all my calls, I didn't answer but immediately googled the number and found this site. They fortunately left a number. It was the credit protection office at Macy's verifying the order that I placed yesterday. It was large order and I had a different billing and shipping address (just bought a new house). They were just checking to make sure it was me.
As for the confusion people have as to whether it's Macys or Bloomingdales that's calling, in all likelihood it's the same company. When they left the voicemail, they identified themselves as "Macys". When I called them back, they identified themselves as the "credit protection office." So it's probably and office that works with both companies. - I was called replies to BlowitoutyourearI was called by this number and I neither owe them money nor am I a deadbeat. I ordered gift card online for my daughter's birthday. It was confirmed by e-mail. Then this company calls and leaves a VM telling me to call back right away. I did, and they said that since I hadn't answered the phone the first time, my order was canceled.
The only way I could reinstate it would be to give them the 3-digit security number on the back of the card. I told them absolutely no way -- that's the final 3 numbers that scammers need to steal everything from you, including your identity. She said OK, fine, my order was canceled then. What kind of a company is this? I gave my full credit card number AND 3 digits on their secure website -- why should I have to recite it over the phone to somebody that I don't know?
The kicker to this is that the reason I didn't answer the phone the first time was because I was in the middle of a presentation -- on, guess what! Identity theft and fraud, and HOW NOT TO GIVE OUT YOUR PRIVATE INFORMATION TO PEOPLE WHO CALL YOU ON THE PHONE, ESPECIALLY YOUR 3-DIGIT SECURITY CODE ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS.
Macy's should know better. They'll never get my business again. - KanThis number call 2 to 3 times a weef.
The last time they called they said that they looking for the realitiesof a diseased person with my last name. They did not give me the last name only the first and requesed information on how to reach the rezlities. I told that that I would have to check and gave them no information. I just hung up.

- Barbara| 1 replyThis is a legitimate Macy's number. Macy's also owns Bloomingdales. I just received a courtesy call from them to let me know that my employee health insurance was active. There is no scamming going on with this number. It and the people at the other end are real.
- JeffFYI, I received a call from this number, called them back and found out someone had my card number and was using it to attempt to make an order. Was being shipped to a totally different state. They cancelled the order to prevent the money from coming out of my account.
Called the bank and turned my card off, i'll get a new one in the morning. They asked for no personal information, as they already had it, including the last 4 of my card number.
Thank goodness they called and checked. I'd call them back if you get a call from them if I were you.
