- JennWin1980It was the Wedding Regristry at Macy's, calling to see if we had any questions regarding our registry, and to please let them know if they could help in any way. Was quite nice of them to do this.

- A little late to the show but damn replies to Ticked Off in DelawareDude.
All that because you got one phone call from Macys?
Also, get an iPhone like the rest of the world. They're cool. - whoknowsI received a call from this number after making an "in store pick up" purchase online. They identified themselves as calling from Bloomingdales Credit Card Services and the caller also indicated they are a Macy's Credit Card Services company as well.
They wanted to verify that it was me who made the online order and confirmed a couple of details. I didn't even use a Bloomingdale's card.
The caller was perfectly polite and informative and once my information was verified he put it through so I could pick up my order later that day.
I just wanted to share this because not all calls from this number are for collection purposes.- Caller: Bloomingdales/Macys Credit Card Services

- SkepticalI got a call from this number today with "Macy s Bloomies" showing as the caller ID. I ignored it because I don't shop there and, two, I never answer unsolicited telephone calls. I did however do my usual after getting a call like this ... I Googled it here and read up on it. As I was reading everyone's comments, the number called again so I choose to answer it. They asked to speak to my daughter (she's 22 and away at college). They stumbled over the last name so I corrected them, and they assumed I was her and said they were calling about an online order 'I' just placed. Well, I never shop at Macy's, nor does my daughter, but she could have easily bought something online. I corrected them that I was not her and they gave me a number to have her call them back on, along with a reference number. I texted her and she did indeed just buy something online using a gift card my sister had given her for her birthday. My daughter also mentioned that they had emailed her using the email address she entered with her order. As I was typing this, they called again ... this woman stated that they were calling to ensure the order was not fraud, which is exactly what someone above stated as well. I asked how she got this number as this number was NOT the number my daughter provided and she stated they use public information. Well my number is not public info, it's unlisted. Still, my daughter will respond to the email per my advice, tread carefully 'just in case' it fraudulent, but it sounds more like it being this time of year (Christmas shopping time), they're being careful with online orders. SO .... Not everything is collections or billing issues. Macy's is a thriving legitimate business and if you're doing business with them, answer the phone and put down the machete ... chances are its a legit call for you. ;oP
- ConcernedJust got phone call from 513-398-5221 and did not answer. Googled the number and saw all the posts. I don't even have a Macy's Account. I never answer calls I don't recognize; especially if they're long distance. Glad I researched.
- ibqbI just received a call from this number. They didn't leave a message so I googled and got this site. However, I subsequently received an email from Macy's regarding an online gift card I ordered last night, and it said they were unable to place the order. They asked if I had received a call and I said yes, but it did not come through with a business name and no message left. In the end, it is a legit number for Macy's. And I'm glad they were thorough in checking this order as I have not placed an order with them in over a year.
- Caller: Macy's
- Tucsongal replies to Irate!| 1 replyI received a call from this number to notify me that someone was fraudulently using my credit card to make extravagant online purchases at Macys. I am very appreciative because my credit card was compromised in the HomeDepot data theft and I was able to cancel their attempted purchases before any goods changed hands. The card was immediately canceled and it also prompted me to put a security alert on my credit reports.
- SharonI received a call from this number tonight. It was Macy's and they were calling to verify that I had ordered an e-gift card on-line. They also verified the e-mail address that I was sending it to and the amount. I did order it and I'm glad they called to check it out.

- DVI received a call and voicemail from this number this morning but wasn't able to pick up. It was Macy's Consumer Protection Dept. calling to confirm that I had placed several online orders over the last week all to be shipped to my work address instead of my home/billing address. I appreciate the fact they confirmed that the orders were in fact placed by me even though they were paid for with a debit card and not a Macy's card (I don't have a Macy's account).
- Caller: Macy's Consumer Protection Dept.
- Sandy replies to JRSomeone hacked my Macy's account! They placed 3 fraudulent orders. Totaling $750.00. Call them back. You have been hacked!! Glad Macy's called, they caught the fraudster! Thanks Macy's
- EugenePhone number called me soon after an online order with Macy's.com. I did not answer but instead called 1-800-BUY-MACY, their customer service line. Macy's customer service rep told me he was trying to verify my purchase and would call me back at my phone number. When he called, it was from the 513-398-5221 number. So basically the number is actually Macy's. What an annoyance.
- Caller: Macy's
- VaSeahawkReceived a call from this number on my cellphone. It was from Macy's and it was legitimate. My wife purchased a high dollar item as a present and shipped to my daughter in another state. They wanted to verify the purchase since it was being shipped to an address not on the credit card. They explained that they went to public records to cross reference to my cellphone instead of hers since if it was fraud, then the given number would also be bogus. They did not ask for any credit card info, just verified the order and asked to repeat the shipping address.
- Caller: Macys
- JoelIt is Macy's/Bloomingdale's fraud department. I ordered a e-giftcard and they called me to confirm the email I was sending it to. They want to make sure that I didn't get hacked.
- Caller: Macy's
- JHI received a call from this number telling me a charge was made at Macy's and did I make it? I said no and asked them for more information about the transaction. They could not provide anymore than to say that it must be someone else with my name. How they got my phone number I do not know and they would not say. They were polite and the supervisor seemed to be honest and did apologize. I am quite amazed at this and pride myself with being aware of scams, but they seemed to have all my info and if they are scammers they already got me. I hope this is not the case

- SFReceived a call from this number earlier today, got a voicemail stating it was Macy's.
Gave me a call back number (which was different from the caller ID) & reference number.
It was legitimately Macy's just verifying whether I made the purchase or not!
Great customer service to phone your customers to verify their purchases!
