- GigiI received a call from this number. It was a Macy's representative letting me know that an item I had ordered was no longer available.
- Caller: Macy's
- zakNumerous unsolicited calls form this number I am on no call list
- Mike replies to BlowitoutyourearFalse ! The poster above is a liar and an idiot.
- tulip 123Actually I received a call yesterday from this number and alls it was was them verifying that I made a purchase on line at macys.com-it was to protect me-because I have an account on line but I was ordering for my mom because she doesn't have a computer-so they noticed it was a different first name and credit card number-the caller couldn't have been more polite and actually apologetic that she called me-I was glad she did because what if it wasn't a legitimate order- (I've had that happen before).
If they asked you for a name that you didn't recognize, then it could of been someone ordering merchandise giving an incorrect address, or some one that gave your number or address to get out of paying a bill. I don't think there is any malicious intent on their part. AND NO I DO NOT WORK FOR MACY's.- Caller: Macy's
- MaryPI received a call today from this number and it IS Macy's credit card fraud department. They were verifying a gift card purchase I had made earlier today. I am grateful they do this. I'd rather answer this call than get the bill with a bunch of unverified purchases. Good work Macy's.

- JSI too received a call from this number. I was instantly suspicious and was sure this supposed rep from Macy's was soon going to ask me to repeat my credit card number to him..yeah right! To my surprise, he went on to explain that a red flag had gone up because someone had placed an internet order with my card and express shipped it somewhere other than my address. He was just placing a courtesy call to let me know my account had been compromised and that I should call the credit card company. I did and he was right.
- Caller: Macy's
- gvYes- this is legitimate, Macy's just alerted me to fraudulent activity on one of my credit cards. I am thankful.

- RSThough this number is legit for Macy's credit services, it seems that Macy's is using not so legit practices to collect money. We were getting a call daily from this number and I would pick the phone up, tell the caller we have never had a Macy's card and ask to be removed from the calling list. One caller even said they would send the info to their fraud department. The calls did not stop. After months, I finally got a competent person on the phone that dug a little deeper and discovered that the person they were trying to collect money from had the same first and last name as my husband but the middle initial was different. I then told him our street name which verified that they had the wrong person. It seems that Macy's credit services will find people via public information (i.e. phone book) and if you have the same name as their delinquent customer, you will start getting harassed, even if it's not you!!! So, if this happens to you, verify the middle initial. So annoying and seems illegal!!!

- Sspencer200I just received a call from this number this afternoon. Someone had used my debit card and the person calling knew the last four digits of my card and my name. I was able to go right to the bank to cancel the account. Whoever it was won't get anything from me. I have not been to Macy's anywhere, nor online.
- Caller: MCCS Inc.
- MichelleThe voicemail said it was a customer service rep from Macy's. I didn't believe it so I didn't call back. When I tried to make online purchase a week later, my card was denied. I called card services and they connected me to someone who checks for fraud. I forgot that I tried to add my fiancé as an authorized user the day before, so they wanted to verify this. So the call from this number was legit.

- JThis is a legitimate call- it is Macy's/Bloomingdales fraud protection. I received a message to call back at 1-866-282-8977 with a reference code. There was a flag on my order because my shipping and my billing address did not match; once I called they released the order.
- Caller: Macy's/Bloomingdales fraud protection
- Joe SSeems to be legit. Didn't call that number back, but checked our visa bank statement and saw a fraudulent charge to bloomingdales.com. Promptly called the credit card company and reported the charge, canceled the card, etc. Called bloomingdales customer support and informed them as well. Definitely check your cards if you get a call from this number.

- RichardWadNUWow, paranoid much folks??? I bought a Macy's eGiftCard for someone and I was called back by this number so that I could verify I was really the person purchasing it and not a victim of a stolen credit card or something. Personally, I appreciated the effort! Relax folks! Not everything is the evil conspiracy that FoxNews wants you to believe!

- NRA replies to Irate!I got this call also. IT IS MACYS CREDIT. Pay your bills people :)
- Jess MI received a call from this same number advising me they were calling from Macy's and that there was a charge for a gift card (I do not have an account with Macy's or Bloomingdales), then I immediately received another call from same number this time identified as Bloomingdales. I am thankful I received these calls because when I accessed my debit card bank account I could see my card had been compromised. I suggest if you do get a call from this number that you take the call seriously and go through the different steps in order to protect your accounts.
