- Marie replies to MLI have an unlisted phone number for a reason. I consider it a CRIME for anyone that I have NOT personally given my phone number to to be allowed to access my phone number and call me. I will NOT be nice if they do. I have blocked their entire area code. No one has the right to require me to answer any questions or talk to them or to enter into/bother me in my home without my consent in any way, shape, or form. I don't complain about radio stations because I don't listen to them and if I did and didn't like them I would turn them off. The radio stations don't come to my house uninvited. My electric bill is between me and the company...and they will be fired if they hire a company to call me and harrass me about anything. No company that I don't do business with has the right to call me. My phone number is unlisted and they should respect that.
- Marie replies to JulieNow that they know that your phone is "active" they will probably put it on a list and sell it to another company that will now bother you with phone calls. That's how things work.
- Marie replies to Friendly adviceI disagree with you. I will find out their name, get their home address and phone number, and call them every hour 24 hours a day until they leave me alone.
- Marie replies to RightYou are correct. That is what companies do to maximize profit.
- Marie replies to Ellery QueenIt's simple. I bought a phone where I can block entire area codes...so I block all area codes where I don't know anyone. I can also choose to block just a single phone number....or phone numbers that aren't really phone numbers..and many other options. My phone also announces who is calling so if I am watching TV and I don't want to answer I don't have to get up to get the phone. I can block it later. I can block unlimited numbers of calls. With some phone company options I can also choose to let all phone calls get a busy signal for as long as I like if I don't want to be bothered. There are a lot of options. If you answer this company they will just bother you about a different survey at a later time. Their real agenda is to get a "profile" of you by asking you to do many surveys on different subjects so that they can sell your profile to companies who want to make money off of you. They work for many companies, not just one. And if you answer one survey....they have a non-ending list of surveys they will want you to answer until the day that you die or are bankrupt and homeless on the street. They they won't want to talk to you.
- Marie replies to MLI have a business. My business is to put other businesses out of business if they call my unlisted phone number. Call me and find out that you are now boycotted. Respect my privacy and I'll consider buying from you. Tell me what businesses want you to call and bother me in my own home when I have an unlisted phone number. Then I'll boycott them and start a petition of thousands of people who want them to stop invading our privacy/homes.
- Marie replies to Unfortunately they canPoliticians that call me do not get my vote. And businesses that call me with surveys don't get my business. Instead, lets all call the company's administration at home at all hours or the day and night and picket their homes and businesses. Maybe that will get the message across.
- Marie replies to BeatdownThis is correct. Verifiying the authenticity and resale value of your phone number by calling them MIGHT get THEM to stop calling you...but then they will sell the list of "working phone numbers" to someone else so they can start calling you. It never really ends.
- Marie replies to Do Not CallLets start a petition to our politicians to change the law. And if they refuse to change the law lets let them know that we will vote them out of office....and continue to call their houses and places of business to ask them to answer OUR surveys.
- Marie replies to EllenI should be able to stay home and do as I please without being bothered by anyone. And no one should have access to my phone number since it is unlisted and I didn't give it to them. People who harrass others in their own home by constanting calling them should be hunted down like rabid dogs....and jailed.

- Slim replies to L krieghThank you for your report.
It might help other visitors get an idea how frequently the spammy caller calls, but it will not reduce the number of calls to you or to others.
Did you make your post here merely to ventilate, or do you want to help reduce such calls, or do you want to learn how to report scam phone calls to the appropriate organization?
Here are some tried and true methods for reducing or eliminating repeated spam / scam phone calls: Click on the Info link, below, to see themInfoWant to stop repeated telescam phone calls?
Try these alternatives:
1. Do not answer the phone if you see an unknown number on your Caller ID ... let it go to answering machine or voicemail. Many telescammers hang up after three or four rings.
2. If you have a smartphone, get one of the inexpensive or free phone blocker apps at your online app store, and learn how to use it.
3. If your cell is not "smart", read the manual to learn how to set up a "group". Assign the scammer's phone number to that group. Also assign a "silent ring" to that group. You will not hear your phone ring if that number calls you again.
3a. Alternately, assign a "silent ringtone" as the DEFAULT ringtone. Then, assign your favorite ringtones to friends, family, contacts, businesses, etc. That way, you will not hear your phone ring, even if the scammer changes numbers! (Disadvantage: if you forget to whitelist somebody, you won't hear their calls, either)
4. For cell phones or landlines: Contact your phone service provider. They may have a facility or method to allow you to block numbers.
5. If you buy things online, you might want to google "phone blocker" to see what devices or apps Amazon or other sites have to offer for landlines or smartphones.
6. DO NOT call unknown numbers back without checking who called (800notes is your friend)! All that does is verify your number is "live". Instead, read this:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/blog/one-ring-cel ... ing-your-wallet
7. Consider picking up the phone, then immediately hanging up. A "real" caller will usually call you again, within seconds. A robocaller will not.
If you want to report potential fraudulent or scam calls, here are two pages of links to (mostly government) sites in Canada and the USA were you can report those scams, or learn more about them.

- BigA replies to CatAs much as you would like us to believe that this is a "survey" call, we all know better. FMR is Forward Movement Recovery, a well known criminal enterprise pretending to be a debt collector. That is why I posted the information in this and many other threads.
- Pamela SokeiThanks to Caller ID, I don't answer these calls. However, they call all day! It's insane! Hopefully, my phone number will be removed from their call list. Thank you.
