I just turn my CELL (old flip phone)"OFF" when I don't need it!  It's for "me" to use when I am away from home, and I only turn it on when I want to call someone. I only have 1000 minutes a YEAR(100 bucks a year)! Everyone else will have to leave a message on answering machine at home! I'll call them back on the home phone when I get there...

I just lie to them and tell them whatever pops in my head, why would you tell them anything truthful about yourself or your family.

Thanks! After getting their call - from 520-290-3741, I went to http://fmrassociates.com/contact.asp and called (520) 886-5548 and asked WHY I'm called. They're in Tucson! The lady said the poll for local radio stations. She took my # and took me OFF list..

Used to call several months ago; stopped after I put them on my call rejection list. Have just added them to my list again. It's free with my phone package (CenturyDinks) and I don't have to worry about confirming my number with FMR or providing them with my e-mail address. And just to reiterate what others have said, I'm sure they use Random Digit Dialing which is the standard loophole for numbers on the Do Not Call Registry. Unfortunately.

I'm listing the call type as a survey based on the other reports here; I was not home to answer the call and they left no message.

There now, has everyone gotten all of that out of their systems?  Good.  Now please read carefully. Turn off the ringers on all your phones, place them all on the counter, coffee table, whatever, and go out for a nice walk.  The phone is a tool for your convenience, not a leash to tie you to family or friends.

Thank you for this- 6 years later, and they were extremely polite, as you said. Didn't even need to transfer me- just took down the number and said they would take care of it!

I am thinking about starting a business that will use the same strategies on companies like this one that use our phones as a way to almost terrorize us. It is easy to setup systems that can be configured to barrage such company's phone systems with phone calls. Let alone their mail servers, etc. It is about time some innovative company uses their technology to proactively attack the attackers. Turn about is fair play.
