No government office will call you in the evening.  If the government wants to get in touch with you they will write you a letter, they your address, they don’t need you to verify it.  If you think this is legit, you are very wrong.  It is a scam.

I receive 2 to 3 calls daily with messages that I should call. Speaking to the caller once, I was told I wuld be receiving monthly interview calls. I told them to take me off their list. I speak to a card-carrying with an ID census burough person every year, providing multiple facts. These other callers are able to continue to call and leave messages even after I block them.

This number called and wanted me to call number 866 208-6591

The number was "spoofed". You must work for the scammer scumbag.

Well since that post was made in 2008, 11 years ago, who knows, and more importantly who cares after all that time?

Received a call saying he was from the Census Bureau. I immediately hung up.

I got a call from 720-220-7615,7/12/19. Woman with heavy eastern European accent. Asks allot of odd questions. " Do you think your phone is tapped ? " "Have you been assaulted ? " Other questions are phishing for your personal info. Report scams to your local news !

Several people have claimed to be from the US Census Bureau during the last two weeks; Caller ID read LSA2 DOC BOC 99.  They requested a specific HR manager at an out-of-state location where the company does have a facility.  My back-ups answered the other enquiries; today, I gave the caller the general number there and will see what happens.

Got a call from this number and let it go to voicemail. A woman with a light Hispanic accent, stated she was with the census and asked me to call 866-208-6591 and gave me a case number. Cid read:  LSA2 DOC BOC followed by a four digit number that is very close to my street address. I’d like to think that’s coincidental.

This number has called numerous times claiming to be from us census. The questions they asked had NOTHING to do with the census.
Example:
do you crochet, sew, or do needle crafts?
Where are you employed?
What do you do for employer?
What is your net worth?
How much college do you have?

None of these questions are on the actual census form!

I did not talk to them, my husband did. They have called every month for the past few months and the questions have been getting more and more invasive. My deduction:  they’re building profiles on people!

Ok. So here’s my story.

Several months ago, a woman showed up at our house, claiming to be from the US Census. Since the 2020 census was coming up, we didn’t think to much about it. My husband met with the woman, I did not. She asked several questions then asked if the Gov could call to verify. We started getting calls not too long after that. About a month later, I ran into a neighbor who lives behind us, and she told us this woman was looking for us that she “can’t find these people!”

The phone calls start with claiming to being from the us census, but the questions were incredibly intrusive, such: asking health questions, insurance, medications, amount spent on medical bills, etc. Then went into other financial questions, including wanting to know how much overtime my husband worked! And what we did for recreation, etc.  I strongly objected to these questions and was rebuffed with, “no they’re not. I’ve been doing this for years!”  The calls kept coming, every month. I refused to answer, but occasionally my husband would pick up and answer their questions. I warned him to stop answering them after this last time.

Today I did some homework and checked into Census.gov. OMG!  The stuff they’re involved with is enough to cause anyone to become paranoid!  They’re building profiles on people!  While calmly telling people how “important” their research is and that “privacy” is carefully guarded. It’s on their website. Why is it important for the government to know what I do for crafts or leisure time?

We were singled out for a reason!  I just don’t know why yet. None of neighbors are getting these calls nor had someone show up on their doorstep. I have this horrible feeling this is heading into “1984” territory. The info they’re collecting is enough to make anyone paranoid. As I said in my last post, the actual census form has NONE of these questions on it.

I have no doubts that the calls are indeed from the government census bureau, but even government surveys can have nefarious and insidious purposes. Take it or leave it. But at least do the research yourself to look into this.

Spam called 8 times today, I'll pay the fine to ignore these people questions are invasive.

Here it is 11.25.20 (4.5 years later) and the same phone# is caliing.  This time it's targeting a non-profit business. Do not give information.

Answered the survey already. They called today. I used call screening and they hung up.

I get 3 or 4 calls from this number every day,  showing as Lsa2 Doc Boc 99 on my cell phone, in morning and up to nights. They just called me at 8:23 pm, that's why I'm here after searching what they heck they are cause I've never answered it.  Shocked it's been around this long! Going on my block list now.
