My clients just received multiple calls from this abusive company.  It indeed sounded like a boiler room operation.  I have dealt with the IRS for > 40 years, & it is very rarely verbally abusive plus they rarely call the client anyway.  I asked for the IRS badge number but they wanted to get the client's phone number, NOT SSN.  I have an authorization on file, but they did not ask about me.  Probably a strong arm "collection agency".  It's a scam.  I am reporting them to the SEC and IRS & whoever else can follow-up.

The same thing happened to me. Last week I got a phone call stating that I have to pay my back taxes to avoid any type of collections. I almost fell for it, until I called IRS directly. The NERVE of a foreigner to call and harass us!. When I asked to speak to a Director or Supervisor, I was laughed at and hung up on.... [***]!

This phone number has called me at least 10 times in the last two days. I called them back today requesting they stop harassing me. The guy insisted he was calling from the IRS. I told him what he was committing fraud, and he responded saying he will continue to harass me and kill me if I don't pay the money to him. Wow.

I also just recieved a call again from this man with a very heavy India accent saying I owed back taxes.  he then gave me this number to call and ask for Kevin Peterson 530-238-5813 so there was no Kevin there, but I was told I needed to pay back taxes.. I told them I know the IRS doesn't call anyone and that I didn't owe the goverment any money.. after not giving him any information he called me a [***]... well he just got hung up on... sorry dude you are a douchbag and don't ever call me again...  are these people so dumb that they don't think we call the FBI or the real IRS.... losers

Received phone call from this number.  Did not pick up but while they were leaving a message, picked up and told them they have the wrong no. and to take my phone no. off their call list.  The man had a heavy foreign accent.  He did not identify himself.  Mumbed the name he was asking for.  Hung up and they immediately phoned back!

My call was from Harry Morgan. He called my mother's phone# twice. When I called the number back from her landline, the phone at the other end rings 4 or 5 times and then just as it sounds the the call is being answered, there is a beep and then silence. The phone# I called was 530-238-5813.

I received a call from 530-238-5813, the guy speak heavy india accent, said he is John Watson, from IRA in CA, I have some problem with tax issue, and I need to call tax officer at IRS, either Kevin Peterson or Cris Norieaga.  After the call the first I did is to type in the phone number, sure enough I found this page.  Thank you for having this page, that helps a lot.  

The number called me 4 times today.  Either I missed it or no one was there when I picked up.  Finally, I picked up to find a very rude and aggressive person on the line who told me there was a discrepancy on my taxes and asked if I had a tax attorney or attorney.  I told him to "yes" but to give me details of the problem and I'd decide.  He asked me for their number and when I started to speak he quickly cut me off telling me he could not discuss details but I needed to contact Mr. Kevin Peterson at the IRS Investigation Department immediately 530-238-5813.  He also told me in a threatening manner not to call his number on the callerid (which was the same number...haha) because that won't reach the right department and so many people do that and it doesn't work.

I think he was annoyed when I told him I do have a tax attorney (which I don't) so he was taken off guard.  I knew it was a scam and quickly googled his number and found this post.  The IRS contacts you by mail and doesn't withhold information from you and hold out to speak with your attorney.  Honestly, no one does that!  

I've spoken since with my accountant/brother who said the IRS has posted a warning on their site about this scam.  Obviously, people are falling for it or they wouldn't still be doing it.

I had the same situation listed above....nearly identical.  After the call, I blocked my number and called the given number.  It rings a few times then disconnects.  I hope this low level sophistication level doesn't actually prove successful and end with them extracting money from someone.  It looks like these scammers, based on the beginning date of this log, have been doing this for about a week.  I hope people google the number to find this is a scam before falling for whatever is in store if you go along with the rhetoric led by these desperate scammers.

Scam artist with Indian accent threatening and asking for money today for the "irs"

Same Call, same story, same accent, different Name "Robert William." Unbelieveable.

A woman by the name of Shina Bell called me at 8 am this morning. After asking her a few questions I knew she was a fraud. She would say, "Your social security number please." Also I do not believe the IRS starts making phone calls at 6 am their time.

A man with a very strong Indian accent called. Didn't say purpose of call or name of company. My daughter answered. She couldn't understand him. I knew it was a scam. Someone with a heavy heavy Indian accent, and his name is Mark Austin??? I think not.

Call from this number indicating it was the IRS.

I too have received several calls with this #530) 238-5814....I generally ignore any call with an area code that is unfamiliar.  I figure if it's important they'll either call back or leave a message.

I listened to the voice mail recording.  Yes...it was an Indian voice by the name of "Mike Anderson"...no I could not make out the message other than the IRS and do I Have a lawyer??  I asked for his manager who of course was not available...his name was "James Miller".  I asked for his ID # and of course he gave me a long winded #....I knew something was up.  I said to him you don't even sound intelligent because my gut told me this was some sort of scam!!

I told him I Had no idea what he was talking about and why was he calling me??  Again...nothing intelligible was coming out of his mouth.  Heard several voices in the background.  I called him a "Clown" and hung up.

Glad I looked up this # online and read all the messages.

I will listen to my intuition next time and just ignore all unknown area code calls.  It's usually a telemarketer anyway.  THis one takes the cake though!!

Have gotten about 5 calls, starting this past Saturday, from a woman with a heavy accent that you can barely understand. First of all she is asking for me by my maiden name and I've been married almost 2 yrs, therefore my last income tax returns were filed jointly with my husband. Second of all, the IRS is government and I'm so sure they work on Saturday!!  Third, I am in KY and the call is coming from CA, a 3 hour time difference, the calls I am getting are as early as 7:30, therefore 4:30 Pacific. Again, so sure the IRS has agents working 24/7. After reading others' posts, I gathered that the IRS does NOT call, they send correspondence through the mail. After they left me 2-3 messages I finally answered and gave this b*tch a few choice words and told her she was a scammer and that she definitely wasn't going to receive any money from me. I told her to go back to wherever it is she came from and called her a few colorful names. We'll see if she calls me again!!
