- JGR| 1 replyRon B: Did you get this person's name? If so then call Synovate in Fresno and they'll deal with her. If anyone ever tells you that again you demand to speak right away to her/his supervisor.
Just annoyed: if you represent a legitimate compant and have legitimate questions to ask me then you are welcome to call me and if you can reach me then i will answer your questions. However it's obvious you have no such intention. I am not pretending to be anything other than what I am and neither are the people who call for us. Legally no company can cold call beyond 9pm in any time zone (9:30 in Canada).
And for the record..no we can't. There are protocols in place designed to prevent people from being called that many times in a day for any particular study. Once in a while a client may override them however this is rare. If you are getting calls "4 times a day" from this same number (which I don't believe although it is within the realm of possibility however remote) then I suggest you call the Fresno office and speak to them directly if the people calling you are not listening.
Greg: You want to get paid to do a survey? When is the last time you got paid to vote? What do you think voting is? It is; in effect a giant public opinion survey. How else are governments and companies to gain an idea of how people think without polling them?
Cynic: Nobody cares what my function is eh? Considering how many employees this company has; how many clients we have and (int he case of some of the customer satisfaction studies we conduct) how many people's paycheques (and corporate brand images) are affected by the research we do; I would say that a great many peo;ple "care about my function". That comment of yours displays a lack of understanding on your part. I'm glad you love that my quotes reference China and India. Some are from Europe as well you know. I didn't read them, I just took a random sample after I did a Google search.- Caller: Synovate
- Greg replies to JGRto JGR:
People fought & died for the priviledge to vote, & you have the NERVE to equate it with Telemarketing!! And unless your claiming to be a "public service", you aren't likely to be helping the government.
The government doesn't need phone convassers to "gain an idea of how people think", voting tells them that.
As far as companies, if a company truely has a "customer service" function within, & actually listens to consumers & takes action, they don't need to pay a 3rd party to harrass people at home & at work, they'll get plenty of ideas & useful suggestions from consumers, customers, vendors, etc. directly volenteered to them.
You don't seem to realize that there are thousands of 'companies'like yours & they ALL call. I had 28 last week, as I look at my caller id record. Are we supposed to just quit earning our incomes so we can be readily available to support yours? And with rampant identity theft attempts, research whether your even ligitimate or a Scam, Spam, Pfisher, etc.?
As far as getting paid, my point was that I don't understand how it is that you people think you actually have a RIGHT to take people's time for you own personal gain.
And as long as your calling "Just Annoyed" a liar, you have to call me one, also, since I have had the same number of calls in ONE 24 hour period from the same source! - Tired of Washington MutualI also got calls from this number and figured that Washington Mutual gave my cell number out to a telemarketer!!! Washington Mutual IS the culprint because THEY GAVE OUT MY NUMBER!!!
- AI have also received phone calls from Synovate - 3 to be exact, each one week apart and all between the hours of 2:00 and 8:00 pm. I answered the 3rd call, was informed that it was a marketing survey, not a sales call. The caller politely asked my permission to proceed. I asked if the call could be completed in 2 minutes and, when she said it would take longer, I declined the survey. The caller was professional, respectful, and quick to end the call when asked. I have done a small amount of research here and see no evidence that Synovate is anything other than a reputable survey company - not a telemarketer.
I am also on the do not call list, but please understand that surveyors, companies with which you do business, and certain others have exemption from the do not call list. We can all get calls at inconvenient times and unsolicited calls are almost always intrusive, but this site will be most helpful when we use it to share information, not just to vent. Please only claim that a call is from a telemarketer when they actually try to sell you something, so that we can separate the violators from those that try to abide by the rules.
Here's my bottom line with this caller: Yes -this was an unsolicited call; yes - it came at an inconvenient time; no-they did not try to sell me anything; no- they did not request any personal information; no-they did not violate the dnc rules; no- they did not violate any rules or guidelines.- Caller: Synovate

- DeannaDear, dear, JGR. Oh my friend you are indeed selling something - bad will! You are being paid to do this or you wouldn't do it. You're selling your soul by bothering people who don't want you or your scummy little company in their home via electronics. So why don't you just download the do not call list and DO NOT CALL!! I urge everyone to invest in a telephone block. They are available from a variety of companies. You can send Suckovate (oh I mean synovate) and any other company to the trash bin and never hear them ring. And JGR, that's DR. Honey to you! Oh by the way, I'm a statistician and this is no way to run a survey!

I never answer the phone, and they never leave a message. I emailed them requesting they stop calling my number. Will see if it works.
They are very annoying, calling at different times of the evening, as late as 9pm. If they don't stop I will be taking legal action.- Caller: SYNOVATE

- Cascade JackReceived a call from this number tonight, and it left no message. T-Mobile is my cell provider and the company was not identified by my caller ID, only the number.
Thank goodness for this website. - GeorgeHave called 5-6 times ove this long weekend. Tonight called at 10:30 and 10:36PM.
I an on the DNC list but I am not sure what if anything they were calling me about since I was adamant they were calling so late in the evening.
This is a lame outfit, if they want opinions go satnd in the airports and
stop travellers for their opinions who are stranded waiting for flights. They have plenty of time to opine... - ness| 3 repliesYou guys are idiots. I used to work for Synovate. They dont give a [***] if they call you on Sunday, or any other day of the week. And you being on the Do Not Call List doesnt mean anything. If you're on that list, that mean people who are SELLING something cant call you. Synovate doesnt sell anything, so they're exempt from that list. They call you with surveys for company's you've done business with in order to get feedback. The companies include:
Washington Mutual or WAMU
BlueCross/Blue Shield
PizzaHut
Car dealerships that do business with Synovate's services
Mistubishi
Audi
other health-related surveys for some big company, i cant remember their name
and a few others
The best thing to do to keep them from calling you is to stop yelling, cursing, and threatening the callers, and simply tell them that you want to be put on Synovate's Do Not Call List--they have one. They may try to get you to take the survey maybe up to 3 times, they're always told by their supervisors not to pressure you too much. Synovate workers are friendly people. I worked their once. And i'll tell you that i found it really ridiculous because just because i was calling over the phone and the other person couldn't see my face, that gave them the right to be rude, mean, and just be a [***] to me. A lot of people forget that their just doing their job. - Kelly in Illinois replies to James LarsenJames-
Lawsuits in this case will only be a wate of your money. I wish this were not the case, however marketing research is exempt from the Federal "do not call" list. Check your state and local laws to see if something can be done on that venue.
Best of luck to you!
Kelly - Rob replies to ness| 1 replyNess, look like you learned your communications skills from Mike, but took it a step further. It's funny, none of your info applies because few people will read beyond your first rude sentence.
- mcbeen replies to Robwe just got a call today from there.. calling for Pizza hut. well the girl got really flusterd when i told her my inteded could not get to the phone and she can just talk to me. and she hung up. goodnes.. i hope they never call back!
- pasaintThey have called several times - this time I was unable to reach the phone before they hung up.12 February 2008 12:55
- NYC| 2 repliesI have received several calls from this number over the past few days. When I finally answered the person could barely speak English. When I told them it was not a good time the man was very polite and asked when would be a better time. I told him never. He sort of chuckled and hung up.
I just got off the phone with WaMu and I found out that they DO sell your info to other companies!!! The woman I spoke with was not sure if this company was one of them but they do give your contact information out to other companies to solicit you!!! I told the woman I spoke to I was VERY upset about this and asked for my information to be taken out the system and the ONLY company I want contacting me is WaMu and NOBODY else. She had to go through the system to take it out.- Caller: UNKNOWN
- We are not the enemy replies to NYC| 1 replyI work for a market research company, maybe even the one you are upset about. Synovate is one of the top research companies and does follow up calls for many companies in which you used daily. Due to the fact that you do business with banks, they have the right to call you and get your opinions about the services they provide. The interviewes dont have your information, just your name If you do not have time to talk , politely schedule a callback or ask not be to called back. Everyone has to make a living and although its not the easiest job in the world it helps college students get through school.
- none replies to We are not the enemyI believe that if you are not rude to someone, you will get the same treatment. I would rather have someone have a job like this than out on the street robbing us. It was well put with "Everyone has to make a living and although its not the easiest job in the world, it helps college students get through school." Everyone does need to make a living so please be respectful as you also want to be respected.
- noneRead this article on MSN.com as it does talk about Synovate conducting research and involving WaMu.
