- Pissed-In-Indiana replies to eq620| 4 repliesActually, they do.
Many, if not all hospitals have hired Press Ganey to do medical survey's after someone has either been hospitalized, had ER care or other care such as dialysis. They use this data to correct staffing issues, address problems and adjust how patients are cared for.
My spouse was badly injured in a car accident last year, and we received the PressGaney surveys after every single x-ray, MRI, CT scan and therapy appointment. I filled out a couple, but then just threw them away.
Before anyone thinks that I work for Press Ganey, think again. I am a retired nurse, and these surveys have hurt more nurses then I can remember. The specific unit that you are evaluating gets a copy of the survey. Unit managers make copies and put them up on the communications board, and circle "bad" evaluations in red. These surveys end up being very detrimental to staff.
The only entity that receives any positive outcome is Press Ganey. They make TONS of $$$ to distribute and "evaluate" the data they collect.
Just a note: I have never received a phone call from Press Ganey, just a survey in the mail. - Kathy| 2 repliesI get calls from this number every day
- maria replies to eq620Yes they do. Any time any of us has been in Round Rock Medical Center they have called asking how was the stay. Probably because this hospital has so many complaints.
- W| 2 repliesI received a phone call from 574-309-9553 which showed the call being from South Bend, IN. I live in Houston, TX. I did not take the call and they did not leave a message.
- Frank N Stein| 13 repliesI recently died. This was a survey call from the funeral home asking how I liked their service. Saw no harm in answering?

- Casey| 1 replyI read the above comments before responding. I was both in the hospital AND did not fill out my dialysis survey. Even if this was legit, I NEVER give out information over the phone.

- Bridgett replies to eq620| 1 replyThe hospitals in my area not only mail a survey, but will call as well if they do not receive the mailer in a timely manner.
I do wonder though why I just received a call from them if I haven't been in a hospital or doctor's office for at least 2 years? - ShikoWell, I did had an appointment with my surgeon. The thing is I rather not do it by phone Haha just personally I would fill out a short survey they have themselves.

- St. Louis Dave replies to UTEXUTEX, PUT A SOCK IN IT!
The caller is am Indiana contract company that does follow-up surveys for hospitals.
I am a recent outpatient at a St. Louis Hospital, and listened to the survey questions regarding my operation.
They're legit; but CAN be a bother! If i have a question regarding my major surgery, I will call the hospital -
not a survey caller from Indiana. - Nikki replies to Cut&RunIt is a follow up survey from my surgery.
- MelissaIt is a Health Survey. I recently got stiches at Memorial Hermann Hospital. When being discharged they asked if I could fill out a survey on their website. I presume because I never did, this company is now calling so I can do a phone survey. And no, I'm not lying. Nor was the other individual who commented. If you don't want them calling, than answer and asked to be removed from the calling list or just complete the survey. It's as simple as that.

- AC replies to Shelby| 3 repliesActually, even if they were legit, they wouldn't have access to much of anything in your records because of HIIPA laws, which forbid giving out any sort of info on a patient's medical records. The most they would have is a general idea of what hospital (because the hospital would set up the survey), maybe the dates (although I don't think they can even give that out) and of course a contact number for you which you would have provided when signing in. Anything else, and the hospital and the survey company would be in violation of federal law. (Source: Worked in a hospital environment for over 15 years, had to know HIIPA both for receiving clerk (possible handling of patient items being shipped in, etc) and switchboard (having to explain to callers why we couldn't give out info on patients, period). And yes, most hospitals will send out a survey after a stay for the reasons stated before, to make sure you were treated well, satisfied with your service, and to give you a chance to lodge any complaints (including, if you choose, the fact that you were subject to an unsolicited survey once you left!)
- AC replies to ACAlso, sorry, I got the initials for that wrong, but here's the site that explains HIPAA: http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/hipaa/understanding/
You should also have been provided a copy of these laws in your patient folder when you were admitted and/or discharged from the hospital - Alan H.I received two calls from this number, claimed to be calling to do a survey for "Alameda Alliance for Health".
The first call, they badly mispronounced my name - and I said I wasn't in, to leave a message. The caller declined to do so. I tried calling the number right back - no answer.
At that point I called Alameda Alliance for Health and they said, "No one should be calling on our (their) behalf to conduct surveys."
I got another call a few minutes ago - different person - same speech about conducting surveys. I told them of my call to the Alliance for Heath people, at which point the caller emphatically insisted that the call was legit. At that point, I insisted that they take me off their call list - permanently.- Caller: Caller declined to state.

- Long Gone replies to Cut&RunYou know what folks, anyone, legit or not, who calls you and DOES NOT leave a message, makes me think they're either scamming for my personal information or their robocallers.
