- NJS replies to someone who knowsI cannot believe that you are preaching like that. Read the messages, you cannot call them back without searching out who they are, they do not answer their phone, if you do get someone they hang up on you, requests via fax are ignored and if you are lucky enough to have your time wasted and get your number removed they will start calling again for the same wrong person 11 months later!
Why should I have to deal with it, their system does not work and I have to waste my time trying to get it corrected and then I have to read a message from a joker like you that states what's the big deal just tell them to remove you. I hope they get your name mixed up with someone who did not pay a parking ticket so you can fully enjoy their harrasement. - MoFohmm, credit card collectors? I wonder. They just called. The phone rang like 5 times and they hung up which means they use an automatic machine to call and await your pick up. I suppose they only allow so long to avoid the machine getting the answering machine. If you picked up you would hear dead air till the machine clicks over to a live officer worker, who would then tell you to pay up. However, if all officer works busy you would just get dead air and not know what they heck they want. I for one would never pick this up.

- A Wrong NumberIn British Columbia we have the Consumer Protection Agency:
If you are not the Debtor in question and are being harrassed by a collection agency you can do the following:
Fax the offending agency the following statement (and make sure you have the fax confirmation of receipt):
"This is to advise you I am not the debtor and therefore directing you to remove this number XXX-XXX-XXXX (your tel #) from your contact list"
You do not even need to put your name on it apparrently. They (the agency) have a 7 day period to remove your number if that time period lapses and they have called again, you can file a formal complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency as you now have written proof as supportive back - up to your complaint.
This happen to me this week and I am following their instructions to the letter.- Call type: Debt collector
- Tommy Tanner| 3 repliesI had a call from these guys to collect my account, man they are good at doing their job. I didn't want to pay but. They were very help full, and made an arrangment with me to get it resloved over 2 months.
All you people on here should quit sqauwking and pay your [***] bills. No wonder collection agencies get a bad rap because of losers like you have nothing better to do then complain.
My guess is all of you are the type of people that sit back complain about all the problems in life government, economy. But do nothing to change your own situation.
Grow up and deal with your problems instead blaming a company for simply doing there job.- Caller: Wiggins Adjustments.

- wing replies to MasonSame thing with me. they called me again and again, and asked me a lot of personal questions. I asked her if i had to answered her questions. Then she was mad at me. What are they doing?????a
- random replies to Gusnot exactly! called that number and spoke with a lady who told me it was my fault for having a common last name and having the initial "A" for my first name! Then she kept me on the phone for 20 minutes while she went thru her list 1 by one asking me if i know any of the people she listed. After all that she told theres nothing we can do to prevent this in the future and when i told her this was unacceptable she said "have a good day sir" and hung up on me!! What a crap company.
- ohoh thank you so much for the phone number i don't know why they kept call my number and i was able to call the same number back. Thanks for 530-0211.
- Allan MartinMy wife and I work evenings and sleep during the day. We have had several calls for someone with the same last name as ours but completely different first name. We have no idea who they are calling. They have not responded to my responses. Is there a remedy?

- cujoflutieThey call me from 2 numbers. I stored both in my speed dial and have them set to 'send directly to voicemail' so when it calls, it just directly goes to my voicemail without even ringing. I am a first party bill collector, they are 3rd party collectors. Like us, they use automated dialers (easy to tell). Before I had it sent to voicemail, it would always be the same girl 'Frances' who called. Now I just get the automated machine since it goes to voicemail after one ring.

- samThiese guys have a machine that gives out annoying calls.
They are collectors of money owing to some idiots. - joebloe replies to John| 1 replyIf you live in British Columbia and you do not want to pay the bs fine, the following legal rights apply to you.
If you start receiving collection call from Wiggins Adjustments, there is an easy way to get these people to stop calling.
According to the BUSINESS PRACTICES AND CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT;
(4) A collector must not continue to communicate with a debtor
(a) except in writing, if the debtor
(i) has notified the collector to communicate in writing only, and
(ii) has provided a mailing address at which the debtor may be contacted,
see this link: http://www.bclaws.ca/EPLibraries/bclaws_new/document/ID/freeside/04002_09
Simply send the collections agency a fax a stating you wish to be contacted by written correspondence ONLY and state the mailing address at which they can send mail to you. Provide your full name, and be sure to clearly note what matter pertains to (i.e. parking ticket for license plate number ABC 123) the sign the fax, and record the date you sent it. Keep the fax. You also need to send the same fax to the creditor (i.e. the parking lot company).
If they are calling you about a parking ticket from Diamond Parking, in the same fax, tell them you wish to dispute the ticket and all related charges in court. They wont take you to court because it's your word against there's, they won't win. Even if they tried the cost of pursuing the matter in court far exceeds the sum they can hope to recover.
Lastly, a parking ticket and fine from a private parking lot WILL NOT and CAN NOT affect your credit rating. You did not borrow money from them and not pay it back. Parking tickets from the city or a government entity, however, is a different story. - joebloe replies to Super FlyIf you live in British Columbia the following legal rights apply to you.
