- Informed individual replies to Jeff| 1 replySadly, I can say that in 2002 I worked for this company ICR "International Credit Recovery". I was brought on board by the notion that i would be dealing with customers who were "dirtbags" and didn't pay bills they knowingly accepted to take on. I worked there for a few months an noticed some shady business ethics taking place towards callers. I also noticed that the management was all Family related and had a very aggressive, pushy nature towards the ICR Staff. the premise I began to notice was that Progressive business publicaions would contact customers at random by robo caller, and get as much information from them as they could. They would ask them if they would like to receive a "Free" trial publication, but not tell them they need to cancel in order to not get stuck paying. Most of the people the contact, are at work, and are not authorized to make business purchases. When the bills finally show up, ICR call s the "customer" and in a pushy way indicates the bill is theirs to pay and that they need to speak with the "boss" when the "customer " hears this they are intimidated into paying....I was told originally that PBP write's off a certain percentage of these bills. These are the bills that are then purchased by ICR for a low fee and they attempt to collect the money for PBP however I am sure that this money is not given to PBP and is kept for ICR.....I left the company as fast as I could once I had 2 and 2 put together. This is a very BAD operation and SCAM no matter how it is explained.
- embryJust got a call today from International Credit Recovery, for collection on a subscription to a Progressive Business Publication that we never received or authorized. Same experience as that posted here by others. Their latest tactic is selecting random telephone extensions at our company and making threats to whoever answers.

- EI haven't gotten a call from them for over a year. This very rude woman calls and just states our CFO's name and says "please". Our CFO is never in the office so I never ask. I just put her right in his voice-mail. Today I asked and she said her name was "Valerie Dearlove". I'm sure it is. Also she said she was with Progressive Business. That's a name on our scam list. This company also goes by Environmental Compliance Alert, Progressive Business Pulbications and who knows what else. Some other comments from former employees say the debt collection calls are from the same place as the publication place. They also only need a birth month and date for authorization of any purchase. These people are relentless and scummy. Just hang up.
They will use the company names: ECA, PBP, Environmental Compliance, Progressive Business Publications, etc. Caller ID is usually from PA. Clarion PA was one specifically.- Caller: Progressive Business

- jpI keep getting these annoying voice mails from this company & I finally talked to Amanda. She said that we owed $299 for a publication that we never received from or ordered Progressive Business Solutions & then started threatening me when I told her that they have the wrong suite #. Her reply: "well your mailman should know where to deliver it. they know where 'company name' is. Idiots.

- Mom 01 replies to Make joke on ICR| 2 repliesWatch what u say on here! A lot of people read this stuff! I'm familiar with ICR they are a collection agency, a great one at that! And PBP they are huge! Very successful companies! People like u write blogs like this because you have nothing better to do with your time! My advice is do some more investigating, don't believe everything that you read online!!
- skamkilla replies to Mom 01First Amendment, pal.
And someone has been doing more investigating... this is from a few pages ahead:
---------
In my case I was called by telemarketer to sign up for "Quality Manager's Alert" which LOOKS and SOUNDS - on the surface - like a pretty good IDEA for a business management environment, but when you receive it, the publication looks like a high school project or newsletter, and pretty much regurgitates ideas pulled from OTHER companies. Like I said, like a high school newsletter. My staff could create a **PROFESSIONAL** publication in minutes, by comparison with this.
While not totally **USELESS** it's definitely NOT worth the publication price of $299 (that's what they're charging now). I could pay an intern a stipend of $20 to create something far, FAR superior.
Oh, there are also spelling errors and other grammatical or word usage errors, like they're instead of their, and bought instead of brought.
Perhaps they have interns putting this together.
The telemarketer reminded me of a co-worker (yes, a **SLICK** salesman type who can talk his way out of a paper bag), but he was at all times courteous and friendly. He knew the right "buttons" to hit, and all the key "buzz words" such as quality control, performance monitoring, compliance and assurance to sell the publication.
I also researched the company itself, they have a website with a photo of what could be their office staff, probably not their executives:
http://www.pbp.com/
A satisfyingly vague website, try clicking on any of the links (try the Online HR Legal Training), they are filled with stock photos pulled from various sources. My first impression, any company that uses **TONS** of photos, mostly stock photos, is just trying too hard to build credibility...or something. This won't let you actually view the training materials unless you have a membership ID and login password (assuming you've created an account and bought the program), but I'm **ASSUMING** the material is similarly regurgitated from someone else's work, or else hacked, cut & pasted from other training material.

Yep, smells like the old "Puff Sheet Racket" to me! - anon replies to Mom 01Oh so, all these pages of complaints are people who have nothing better to do with their time? Well, then cupcake, why are YOU here? Oh, right - you work for the scammers don't you?
- 4Q2 replies to Make joke on ICRThat "payment page" (http://www.intlcreditrec.com/MAKE-PAYMENT.html) is so poorly put together! The labels (for the blanks to be filled out) are inexplicably placed in a large box with a scroll-bar, so they do not precisely line up with the proper blanks! When you move the scroll-bar, the labels move but the blanks stay in place!
- heywood jablomy replies to InformationNo need to post this over and over.
- Wack & Brooke replies to InformationWe get it, we get it.
And it's "Attorney General," not "General Attorney."
