Phone rang once & was blocked by Nomorobo, then seconds later rang with this number. I didn’t answer but there was a message. The message was from a man with a heavy accent saying he was from the IRS. I didn’t listen to the rest of the message & deleted the call.

I got a call from 6083716666 from someone claiming to be from the University of Illinois. I told him that “you are calling me from a Wisconsin area code, therefore you are a liar and I don’t want to talk to you! “ I then hung up.

Someone claims to be from University of Illinois. I told him that based on the area code “you are not.”

Interesting dichotomy with this particular number. the 608 number left a message asking for donations for the Eldridge campaign and they gave another number to call to donate. Verizon records show 2 numbers this one and another a local number. This has to be one of the most insidious new scams out there, I think, especially hearing other reports here.

I had an AMVET spammer this morning.  Called on a landline, then on a wireless number then hit keypad to verify and ROBONobo sent it back to me, I reported both numbers to NOBORobo and told them what he did, then I blocked both his numbers my phone provider's service.

Based on what I saw as I skimmed thru about 4 years of reports on this number, someone has managed to outsmart or out maneuver the call blockers quite well.  I've had calls from this number several times over the past 6 months.  So many that the number has become lodged in my memory and will probably remain there for the rest of my life.  Which stinks!  They never leave a message when the VM picks up, and I always get a second call right away.  Nomorobo must have that second number blocked, now, 'cause it only rings once.  I'd love to see someone them down.  Probably in China or India, though.  Maybe North Korea?

First a call that got blocked, and then a few seconds later a call from 608-371-6666 that didn't get blocked and just displayed the phone number, no company. This call happens several times a week -  the one time I answered it was silent.

Unwanted scam calls

Got two calls several minutes ago, first a one-ring "unknown name/ unknown number" blocked by NOMOROBO, back to back with another that then went to voicemail. A guy with an East Indian accent went into how I had just won $30,000 from Publisher's Clearing House - and a car - a brand new Civic... white... with pearl paint! I was only surprised that these scammers were able to get through spoofing the NOMOROBO number, though the message was funny.

Called my home phone, saw caller ID and hit the big red BLOCK NOW button on my CPR V5000. No legitimate caller uses city's name and state for caller ID out of your local area. They do that because most people are blocking unknown or blocked caller ID names. After reading a majority of reviews on this number you'd have to be mental to not realize these are scammers!
They've called my number 15 times since I blocked it. My Blocker box shows the number of calls since a number was blocked. My phone never rings once I block a number. What a bunch of imbeciles...

Seems to be a large variety of opinions on who this caller is Its been going on a LONG time. You guys are reporting it to the FCC right?

Called at 3:30pm on a Sunday.  Picked up by my voicemail, but they left no message.

= here is one of my many experiences just today = 770-751-5170 = caller id = unavailable = blocked by nomorobo and then allowed thru their "fake caller" (my term) # 1-608-371-6666 = IE: live scammer calls, nomorobo picks up and say I think you are a robocaller; whereupon real caller hits the two digit code nomorobo gives them = then nomorobo allows the call to go thru with the "fake caller" ID # (above) = whereupon a female voice leaves the following cryptic message (please note there is no company info or details noted) for someone I never heard of (I don't know anyone in my entire life named Virginia Smith) = "This message requires immediate attention of Virginia Smith. Reference file number IC 1973. My name is Ann I'm calling from a private process serving division. I'm contacting you in reference to a complaint that may have been filed against you. To further discuss these pending actions in the contact the office as an control(?) this matter at 844-406-0392. Failure to respond will result in the department proceeding without your consent. Please give us this call has been logged and submitted as proof even notified of this matter."   another IRS scam?

Says this is st pete a/c (Florida) special on central a/c cleaning funny thing caller id switched from 727 area code to this number Will be passing this one on to nomorobo for sure

That didn't work out as I am getting calls from that number

I have the number blocked, but it still calls but changes number often. No messages left.

This number got through my NoMoRobo. Left a message saying the call was from Northstar and I should call back because they were debt collectors. Funny that. I have gotten other calls from this number that claimed to be many other companies. All scams. I never answer a number I don't recognize. Will let NoMoRobo know to block this number.

Call received from Coyote Logistics intercepted by NOMOROBO, then got an immediate call from 608-31-666 "unknown name".
