So this company calls me up today and says that they will not take me off the list even though I'm the final say.  They are going to pay!

This is the company making the calls and this is the person who can get you off the list.

Caller said his name was Jeremy and that it was not a sales call, although my boss did not know who he was.  Told him she was not available and he said he would call back....Great.

Receptionist says the caller asked for me by my first name as though she knew me. Receptionist put her into voice mail but no message left.

Hang up when I answer

Hey tony while the low life telemarketer is on hold their company is paying for the call so I don't mind tying up one of my lines.  Also when some idiot telemarketer repeatedly calls after being told to stop calling we will also call their 800 number over and over until they agree to stop calling.  My all time favorite was a telemarketing company that called our business and cell phones daily.  I looked up their incorporation documents online and posted the owners cell phone number online.  We haven't had a call from them idiots since.

again, called and hung up!

It just keeps getting worse with these calls. I don't think the so called do not call registry works at all. More buricratic [***] coming from our gov to protect us. Like the rest of it this doesn't work either

VERY RUDE!!! a man calls early at 8am said I was very "rude" and had "sour milk in my cheerios" when I asked him not to call before 9am. Hung up on my husband when he said that he (guy who called) was speaking with his wife and not his receptionist.

I run a small business.  I am not the owner, I am not a gatekeeper, I am not a secretary.  I am the Business Manager and I make all financial decisions for the company.  The owner isn't in the office building for more than an hour every several weeks and only sees monthly reports as to what his business has been doing.   I receive calls from these people several times a week.  They've called and asked for the owner like they know him but can not pronounce his name (it's not hard, it's only 4 letters, hooked on phonics people!) I have told them that if they want to do business then they can talk to me, the Business Manager, as the owner does not work in the building and cannot be reached at this number unless they want to leave a message and wait.  I was called a liar and also told to "do my job and get *wrong name here* on the phone."  After that I hung up.
They have also tried telling me that they were just talking to *wrong name here* and need to talk to him "real quick before he leaves", to which I say that is impossible as he hasn't been here in x amount of days.  They immediately hang up.  
Now they keep calling but they hang up as soon as I say the company greeting.
I have also tried to tell people that we do not do business with cold call salespeople in the past, but it never seemed to diminish the call volume.
I'd say save yourselves the headache and just quit picking up for the calls from this number as they do not seem to want to do any business.

FYI - I have had telemarketers ask for the person responsible for decision making on certain things - as we are a small company, I AM the DM on some of the items even though I am a "Gatekeeper" and have secured contracts for items for our company - when I tell a telemarketer that I AM the person responsible and that we ARE CURRENTLY under contract with another company and the telemarketer tells me "I don't think you're qualified to make that decision."  They should be hung up on - especially considering I was THE person who secured the contract with our current supplier, and I have some phone jockey trying to tell ME what MY job responsibilites are - WHAT A JOKE!!!  As I used to work in a marketing company in operations and as I used to monitor these calls made by our telephone sales reps for quality - when a telemarketer is told that you are under contract - LEGALLY they cannot continue the sale, they however can ask when your contract is up, but that's besides the point - either way, I REFUSE to do business with a company that is telling ME what MY job responsibilities are when they know NOTHING about our company except our FORMER president's name...

We received a call today from (614) 848-1111 - they asked if main office, I told them they needed to call the Corporate office in another state, SHE then asked for the phone number, I responded " I do not have the number - you may look it up", she responded "If I was doing my job-I would have it"and hung up on me.  We do not call the main office but once every X amount of years - so I would have had to look it up and I was not going to do that for a telemarketer.

unfortunately for you and your professional language skills there is no such thing as a do not call list for businesses.  So I hope they call you more and more.  Have a good day.

They call our office number every day, five days a week and hang up when you answer.  Will not leave message if you let it go to voice mail.  And we are on the "Do not call" list and have been for over a year...

You might be on the Do Not Call list, but that ONLY applies to your home or mobile number - NOT your business line.  Sorry.

Ask how they got your number and explain that the person they are looking for is not at that number.  Be nice and they will stop calling with a good expalnation.
