Scam call

Some one from this number called my late husband to talk something. I told him my husband passed away last year and hung up.

Silent call........no message/recording.  Won’t give up.

I have received missed calls from the number many times. And they do not leave a message

They are a debt collector.
They might call about husband , relatives or somebody that you might know trying to collect a debt. They call over and over ,...and over!
Today I answer the phone and let them know that their phone calls need to stop, otherwise I will file a complaint with the FTC.

They keep calling my phone but I don't answer.  They never leave a message.

Placed hang up call. No message left. If the are a collector, they are in violation of the law. By law, they are required to identify themselves, and state their business. Hang up calls are considered harrasment.  Forcefully report them to the Federal Trade Commission, and force them to do their job....regulation. All you have to provide is the number, and let them know they are placing hang up calls. Contact the US Attorney Generals office. Walk the walk, don't just talk the talk.

If they talk to you they are required to state who they are.  However, there is no law that states they have to leave a message.  I am sure the US Attorney General's Office is not taking complaints about debt collectors unless it is from the FTC or the CFPB.

Report the the to Federal Trade Commission, and the US Attorney Generals office. All you have to provide is the number. Hang up calls are harrasment. You can order them to cease and desist  from calling ALL numbers affiliated with you, and they have to abide.

You will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

11 phone calls in 2 minutes!! thank fully my AT&T Call Protect blocked them but still!! And they don't leave a message so....
