I recieved a call at 11:51 am, which wouldn't be a big deal, except I'm in law school and happened to be in class.  My phone was silenced, but I saw the lights flashing which obviously caught my attention still.  How do I block this number??

I also used to get calls from a Nebraska number which I found out was the Gallup Poll...eventually they just gave up but I don't want to deal with these people calling every day and night.

Called my mother's house Monday 29 Ocotber 2007 at 11:41am and asked for me. Woman voice was very muffled and my mother had to ask her twice who she wanted. Would not tell my mom why she wanted to talk to me, the caller then got frustrated and hung up. I haven't used my mother's phone number in over 6 years.

Call went to answering machine and caller hung up w/o leaving a message. Long Island, NY. AFAIK I am on the do not call list.

Noticed missed call on cell phone. Came in Sun 11/4 at 5:10pm PST. No msg left. I never answer if I do not know who's calling so they are indeed wasting their time calling my number.

Calls daily from this # for weeks now.   As late as 10pm.   Answering machine picks up, they hang.  I paid for caller id 3 times now to trace #.

I have received several calls from this number over the last week (mostly in the late evening) and cannot get them to stop calling - even when I request to be removed from their call list.  The company calling is Universal Survey Center (212) 391-5243.  They are a sub-contracted call center for ICR Survey (800) 633-1986 - which is the company named each time I answer.  I have now called both companies and asked to be removed from their lists.  When I spoke to the representative at Universal, I told him I was receiving calls on behalf of ICR, and that info apparently helped him pinpoint my number to remove it more quickly.  When I called ICR, I spoke to Mr. Brown at extension 4431 and he very politely assured me he would research the number and remove it as soon as possible.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

After repeated requests to have my phone number removed, I filed a complaint with the FTC, then I called and left a phone message on one of the Company principal's voice mail, advising him that unless he personally gets my phone number out of their dB, I will be contacting an attorney!  You can access a list of the Company principals on their web-site (above).

If every person goes to

www.donotcall.gov

and files a complaint, they will be investigated (they only investigate large numbers of complaints). They can be fined upto $10,000 per illegal call. This list of people alone could and would put them out of business. Get the word out for all offending numbers...

You are correct, however, there are expections (exemptions) to the DNC rules:

1) Political Organizations
2) Surveys or Poll taking

... and I believe that there are others.  I have filed complaints with the FTC & FCC regarding this survey company, because after repeated requests to have my phone number removed from their call dB, I have continued to receive calls.  Even though they may be exempt from the DNC list, they must still remove a phone number when it is requested.

These idiots are also conducting a survey on behalf of cingular/att wireless on cellular phones.  I called up cingular/att and informed them I was not going to renew my contract with them due to their association with this disgusting company. (Would have cancelled if not for the penalty.)  Lets see if that gets their attention.

I got a call and didn't answer it when I did not recognize the number on caller ID.  I did call it back and a voice recording answered stating that the were a survey company not selling anything. Too bad you could not tell the to take me off their list

Have had several calls from this number.  Caller hangs up a few seconds after I say "hello" but I can hear background noise (like people talking) before they hang up.

Several calls during the day. No message, only the phone number 646-467-6665. No name available.I just don't answer. So far no other problems.

When I picked up the phone, they hung up.

GOT TWO MORE CALLS TODAY.  THE LAST CALL, MY HUSBAND TOLD THEM TO TAKE OUR NUMBER OFF THEIR LIST PER FEDERAL REGULATIONS.  HOPE IT DOES SOME GOOD!!!
