I applied to a job posted on Craigslist and received the following email requesting i get my credit report to be considered for the job. This company does not come up in any google search.

    ***copy of email received***
I appreciate you e-mailing us. In case the posting was not clear, the responsibilities of this position are as follows: you will be answering the phone and taking messages whenever necessary, you will work on scheduling our company meetings, and errand running for the company for things such as purchasing supplies and making our bank deposits (you will always be provided with a company car). While you are running errands, you will also be given one of our company credit card(s) for all business purchases.

You are very qualified for this job position, more so than the other 24 people we received e-mails from. I want to find an available time to set up the next step with you. However, before I can set up a formal meeting, our company will require that you attain a recent(past 14-21 business days) credit report. We, at Lontigo LLC, started requiring this because our company had some bad incidents with prior employees taking advantage of access to a company credit card.

Both myself and the company heavily suggest it if you use http://freekeycreditscore.com to attain your report as they are giving the report at no cost to you(unlike other places). Lontigo has also discovered that their scores always report back the most factual and accurate information.

After you have submitted all necessary information, they will show your personal credit report. Then, you will e-mail me the reported credit score, a phone number we can reach you at, and your availability times to set up an interview.

We ask that you do not email me the complete credit report, as it will most likely have private information. In the chance that you currently have a less than desirable credit score, it will never prevent you from a position with us. I had a pretty low score whenever I started.

If you do not wish to complete a recent credit check, unfortunately Lontigo will require that I contact our second choice.

Honestly, I am hoping to get this position filled with a new friendly face and looking to your quick response.

    Have a fantastic Monday,
    Stephanie Clark

I got the same letter....beware all.

Hey, it's wonderful to hear from you.

Thank you for e-mailing us. In case my posting was not extremely clear, the responsibilities of the position are as follows: you will be answering our main phone and taking messages whenever applicable, you will be scheduling the company meetings, and errand running for the company for things such as purchasing supplies and making the bank deposits (you will be provided with a company car). While you are running errands, you will also be given one of our company credit card(s) for all business purchases.

You seem definitely qualified for our job position, more so than the other 9 applicants I received emails from. I would like to find an available time to take the next step with you. However, before I am able to schedule an interview, our company will require you to attain a fairly recent(from the past 15-20 business days) credit report. We enforce this because our company unfortunately had some bad incidents with prior employees exploiting being able to access a company credit card.

Both myself and the company will prefer it that you use http://keycreditscorefree2010.com to attain your check as they are offering this currently at no cost to you(unlike other places). We have also found that their scores always report the most accurate information compared to others.

After you have submitted all of the necessary information, their company will show you your personal credit report. Then, you will e-mail me the reported credit score, a phone number that you can be easily reached, and your availability times to set up an interview.
Do not email me the complete credit report, as it will most likely have private information. If you have a low credit score, it will not prevent you from employment. Personally, I had a pretty low score whenever I started.

If you don't wish to send in a recent credit check, unfortunately we will need to contact the second choice.

Personally, I am hoping to get this position filled with a friendly face and am looking to your quick reply.

I didn't receive a call but this was in response to a job that I applied to posted on Craigslist which is the same as jerseygurl's except mine was signed by a Nicole Freeman ?? at the same company.
I searched the company and the phone and have now deleted from my e-mail

Yeah, I ended up getting the same exact e-mail, with the same exact message but from another sender at the bottom. "Stephanie Nichols"  .

I suppose it's yet another scam on craigslist.

I had one from Emily Jackson, HR @ Branton, LLC. I knew it was fishy when I was more qualified than the other 23 applicants even though I only requested an address to fwd my resume! Figured it was a scam!!!

I just got an email from them too. Sounded fishy when THEY wanted ME to get my credit score for them.If they were going to potentially hire anyone, they would be able to pull whatever info they needed themselves right? Mine came from a craigslist ad as well. Mine was addressed from Faith Holmes.

And to think, I got kinda excited when I saw a response to my resume. . .

Be careful with this.  If you go to that web site for your "free credit report", it requires you to put in your credit card number.  But the fine print at the bottom of the web page says that you'll be charged $84 for a six-month "membership".  That's hardly free.  This is a scam, there are no jobs here - it's just a trick to get people to unsuspectingly sign up for the bogus membership deal.

I got this response back after I sent an email saying I would be willing to bring my resume in during an interview, but not send it arbitrarily to a company who was ungoogleable.  I was already on my guard when they didn't bother to address the response to my resume to me, but rather to the email the resume was sent to.  I mean, if my resume was as dazzling as this woman claims, surely my name would have been easily remembered, right?  Either way, I have now had several emails, all from the same craigslist ad, but with different woman each time responding.  Here's the email.

Hey xxxx, it's fantastic to speak with you.

I appreciate you e-mailing us. In case our ad was not clear, the responsibilities of this position are as follows: you will be answering our main phone and taking messages when applicable, you will be scheduling the company meetings, and running errands for us for things such as purchasing office supplies and making the bank deposits (you will be provided with a company car). While you are running errands, you will also be given one of our company credit card(s) for all business purchases.

You are very qualified for this job position, more so than the other 17 people we received e-mails from. I would like to take the next step with you. However, before I am able to set up a formal meeting, my company will require that you obtain a recent(from the past 10-15 business days) credit report. We have made this a standard because our company have unfortunately had some bad encounters with former employees taking advantage of access to one of the company credit cards.

Both myself and the company strongly suggest it that you use http://keycreditscorefree2010.com to obtain this information as they are offering the report at zero cost to you. Branton has also discovered that their checks always report back the most accurate information compared to others.

After you have submitted all of the necessary information, they will display your personal credit report. Afterwards, you will email me your reported credit score, a daytime phone number, and your availability to schedule an interview.
Do not email me your complete credit report, as it will most likely contain private information. If you have a low credit score, it does not prevent you from a position with us. I had a fairly low score when I started here.

If you don't want to complete a recent credit check, unfortunately I will need to meet with the second choice.

Personally, I am wanting to fill this position with a friendly face and looking to your quick response.
