- LeslieWell, it's peculiar. We actually had a very pleasant conversation. I thought it was a call from one of my boyfriend's friends, but when I went online to check about the area code, I stumbled upon the exact number from which a group of maybe 3 or more people called. They said they were "the Internet", so it seemed like juvenile anonymous humor (anonymous the group, of course). They said they found my number on facebook, as I'd posted it for my friends to see. They asked about my phone and I said it was a pay-as-you-go phone, and they seemed unperturbed by this fact. They even asked if they were using up my minutes. We talked about Chicago, Vermont, and California, as I've spent the last year or two jumping between place. In fact, I was surprised to see that this is a scam number, which is why I'm sharing my experience; perhaps it will provide an odd angle of information someone might need.
- AndersonincSome IDIOT keeps calling me at all hrs of the night.

- KarenEverybody please read this. The phone number, is the standard number issued by "Skype" to absolutely EVERYBODY on this planet who signs up for a Skype account and adds some money into their Skype account to make phone calls from outside the USA. (Within-USA phone calls, are totally free... but also end up using this same exact phone number). So the call you are getting, may be coming from either within the USA or outside the USA. From a valid friend (honestly trying to get in touch with you)... or from a scammer who somehow got hold of your personal home or cell phone number.
The number itself isn't "bad". If you got a scam call, that means some scammer is using his (bona-fide) Skype account to pester you. Or, perhaps he/she made a mistake and honestly meant to get in touch with somebody else.
I just signed up for a Skype account and if I try to call my own cell phone using Skype, that's the same number that appears. If you sign up for Skype, same thing will pertain to you!! (Unless you get their "voice" program, where you make your actual phone number your Skype number...something I do not care to do). And no you can never call back the (661) 380-3000 number to leave a message.
I plan to use this to make calls home to my husband in the USA, on an upcoming trip to Costa Rica. Let's try to see the positive side of the Skype program... it's a great way to make free or almost free calls from almost everywhere in the world. Although I agree would be annoyed if somebody used it to try and scam me.- Caller: Myself

- ARMYSPOUSEI am in the middle of a divorce with my husband who harasses my cell. Since I blocked his number he calls from Skype at all hours using this number. He's a soldier but not overseas now. So it's probably just Skype accessing this number randomly...
