Here is info about the number you saw  661 380 3000. This number is generic, belonging to the Skype Network and not assigned to any business or person. It appears after a call has been placed through Skype to another number. The Caller cannot be called back or reached by calling it.

The phone settings of the Caller and/or the person receiving the call will determine whether this number appears after the call, for example using a "Block Caller ID", will default to showing the generic Skype number 661-380-3000 instead of the actual number that call came from. If you call this number, 661-380-3000, the recording that plays explains it's use & purpose. A transcript of the message reads:

“The number you have reached (661-380-3000) is associated with a call that originated from a voice service provider (Skype) and is not associated with any specific users. Therefore the subscriber who originated the call cannot be reached at this number. Please report threatening or malicious activities to local law enforcement (and FTC) for further investigation.“

Scammers and Pranksters use Skype phone service to have anonymity because the victim believes the call originates from 661-380-3000, but victims never trace the origin of the call because it displays the Skype number instead. The best way to stop the unwanted solicitations is to register each of your phone numbers to the Do-Not-Call list with the Federal Trade Commission (www.FTC.gov). It won't stop random pranksters and children on "Phoney" calls but it will stop businesses which rely on telemarketing tactics to intimidate you.

"Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. More than 157 million phone numbers are on the National Do Not Call Registry." You can register your home or mobile phone for free. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this website, as well. www.donotcall.gov.

Called my cell using Skype to find my phone, came up this number. Googled the number just for the S & G's and this string is what I got...

This is scam, I was emailing  with a beautiful girl Named "Dina" and she was to be living in Russia, but she called from this number 1-661-380-6000 which is located in California.....and I asked her what time it was there..she said 10:30....and I was in New York, and It was 1:30 pm at the time of the call...CA is 3 hrs behind.us.That was her second mistake,1st  was calling from CA.

Ya I got the call at 230am! I do use Skype but no one would be callin me from overseas through it or let alone jus to Skype at that time. I REALLLY wish I would face answered now lol

This  is the the number that comes up on my Caller ID when my friend calls me from South Korea where he is stationed..  I almost didn't answer but remembered he told me he was going to get a Skype phone.

Just now got 2 calls from this nbr ... googled & found this site. I'm glad for the warnings given. The call came first on the landline. I didnt answer coz nbr was unknown to me. 2nd time, shortly after, my mobile # rings & it's same unknown caller. Just dont wanna answer nbrs w/ no caller ID. Even if it did, I wouldnt if I dont know them. They can just leave a message.

Just received a call informing me I had filled in a raffle.  I informed him I would never do such a thing and he was to immediately remove my number from his list.  He was persistent, even though I informed him I was going to report the number.  So irritating.

Red flag!! Appears to be phishing call. I have received calls from this number about every 3 weeks for several months, and just this week have gotten two. Every time there is a lengthy recorded message that informs me that my computer security program is not up to date and that directs me to go to sppws.com to enter more information. When I have tried to call back, I get a message that this is a routing number and that further requests for information about the origin of the call will not be honored without a recognized warrant from law enforcement. Red flag!!! Why would the number highlight needing a legal warrant from the outset?

I recieved multiple calls from this number.  they identify themselves as representing Walmart and that you have won a $500 gift card.  They scam you into giving information and say they will only charge you $4.95 shipping and handling.  

When you call the number it says
" this # is associated with a voice Service Provider and is not associated with any specfic user.   And any information required can only be provided by a local law enforecement agency.  to please report a malicious intent t law enforcement agency."

i fell for the trap and have been charged at abou $200.

DON'T FALL FOR IT.

A man from this # called just about 9pm tonight, said he had my missing dog and I should come out to his house at 11pm! Gave a legit Name and Home in a nearby town.
Because of the recording to contact the authorities- I did.
It was checked out by the Dallas police who said the homeowners constantly get prank calls and scam calls directed to them.
By the way- I have an ad LISTED ON CRAIGS LIST also, and believe this is where these jerks got my # and obviouslly, information about my dog.

Shameful. Cruel- and Not Fair for the people who have legitimate business (like real overseas calls) associated with this #-

This is a someone calling you via Skype.

I got a call from this number last night. He knew my name and said he was a secret admirer. But he was very awkward and didn't know what to say. If you get a call from this number, don't believe any of it.
As far as the Skype number and for your spouses overseas, get google voice. Research it. You'll be a lot safer.

These people have tried to reach me dozens of times... just about every day. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize. 661-380-3000 shows up as a missed call.

A couple times think I answered by their call by accident (vaguely remember the number). It was a scammer. Twice I answered calls from a "collection agency" saying they were trying to collect several hundred dollars in overdraft fees for an account at U.S. Bank... an account I closed about 7 years ago. I knew it was a scam because the first time the said I owed around $375; a couple months later they told me it was around $750. I refused to pay. They said they would file suit immediately...they never did.

I get calls from this number. They speak very broken English and say they are the police and I must call right away.

This number (661-380-3000) must be used for / by multiple uses based on this long posting.   I got a call today from this number from someone telling me he had documents for me from IDG, which is a IT service vendor.   Asked for me by name, and didn't speak very well.   When I told him I didn't want any documents, he hung up.   Must be a spammer as I have no reason to get documents from IDG.     This type of posting should list a Call Type as spammer as those are the only calls I get these days other then from people I know.
