Called my work line....did not answer...caller did not leave a message.

This guys said his name is Steve and he was providing a free subscription for Vision Systems design.  As a sales guys myself, I tried to politely confirm that I have no interest in the electronic or mailed subscription.  He hung-up in mid sentence.  This is why it doesn't pay to be polite to these pathetic hacks.

This caller did not leave a message.  I suspect it was a robot caller.
Annoyance.  I am looking into contacting the Federal Trade Commission.
I'm already on the Do Not Call list and I have maxxed out the number of blocked numbers that I can have on my phone, according to the service provider.

Received a call from them today, but they were trying to tell me that someone in our "shop" or "maintenance" area ordered an air hose. I told him I don't believe so (know we did not) and was told that it didn't matter what I believed, he had it sitting in front of him. Asked the company name and was told they were an authorized dealer for Goodyear. When I wouldn't cooperate he got upset and said bye and hung up.

Abandoned Call

They call but say nothing.  Is this some automated way of seeing is a phone number is real?
They have called 8 or 10 times on my cell,  so I have blocked the number.

I was not going to pick up but I saw other references here to TWICE MAGAZINE which is a free industry trade publication that I receive.

Guy (obviously on an overseas VoIP line) started out on the wrong foot by asking "How are you today?"

I asked him if he was calling to check in on my health and that flustered him.  He then went through a series of questions that would allow him to renew the free subscription.  At one point the call went haywire (love the VoIP) but eventually I could hear him again.

Took 3 minutes total.

These callers are idiots, they do not know the basic business manner, of course cannot find a real job. They just want to make some money by making unsolicited calls. Ignore these idiots!!!  

They got my voicemail...and only left a couple of random automated noises (clicking) before disconnecting....

Caller ID shows MMG. "Jen" called (very, very bad connection, by the way-had to ask her twice what her name was) and asked for one of our Engineers. I asked what company she was with and she said "Product Design and Development" magazine regarding a subscription. The Engineer in question I could hear in the office next to mine-BUSY-so no way am I going to put a silly call like this through to him. Customer, yes. Telemarketer, NO. Put her on hold until she hung up.

This is just a phony tie-line number tagged to Waxhaw, NC, used by a foreign call center to solicit trade magazine subscriptions (among other things), identified on Caller Id as "MMG," which may be a criminal telemarketing enterprise.  I put them in the usual category of animals and devil worshippers, as they don't even have the human being courtesy of leaving a message.  A pox on them.  It is suspected they also use (252) 991-5889, which is another phony tie-line number tagged to Wilson, NC.  The :"business" behind these crank calls is likely the following:

More calls grouped into the totality of nuisance calls.  It is assumed that all improperly or incompletely identified numbers are from the increasing number of scams, frauds, tie-lines, etc. This is why everyone must contact their elected reps in DC to demand that they significantly strengthen the DNC laws, providing extremely severe dollar and prison sentences for violators.  This is an opportunity for Congress to actually do something useful for the country, not just pass gas and throw spitballs at each other.  Any business must be properly identified with their legal name on Caller Id, not hide behind Not Available, Private, Unavailable, etc.  It is time to ban any kind of solicitation call, whether charitable, political, survey, opinion poll or whatever, plus use of tie lines and use of numbers not issued by a legitimate, FCC licensed common carrier (telephone company).  You can be assured that funds donated over the phone will mostly go into the pockets of the organizers, not to the charity or political campaign, along with a $10 donation showing up as $100s in charges.  Never give a credit card number or any personal data to anyone over the phone. There must be a new scam and fraud being generated every second out there.  We need call control, not gun control!

Called many times, leaves no message, during biz hours, after hours - just annoying.  

I beg to differ. I have had my phone number for 15 years. THIS IS SPAM CALLING. Nor have I opted in on receiving calls at my number.

They call repeatedly, each time leaving a 20 second VM including either heavy breathing or what sounds like pen tapping.

Always call, NEVER leave a message, calling the FCC and filing a report against them!! They are ridiculous!!!
