    This is not a scam.
If you have ever requested a FREE trade publication, magazine subscription in a selected industry -- of which there are many through companies like Mercury Magazines, Ziff Publisherers and others -- this company has your phone number.
It is likely trying to upsell you on other magazines, or RENEW your subxription..... but it is not a scam.
If you call the number back, you can leave a message to have your number removed from the calling list.

Called the number after they left no message - tones followed by, we're sorry, all circuits are busy now...right, probably busy scamming unsuspecting folks out of their money.

They represent a bunch of different industry magazines that offer free subscriptions. You probably signed up for them at some point in the past, or someone else did and randomly used your number.  Periodically the magazines have to verify that their subscribers are still interested. If you tell them you aren't interested in renewing, they will stop calling.

I don't think it's fair to call this spam.

Still calling - 2x today, so far.  I asked them nicely not to, now I hit speakerphone twice in rapid succession and instantly disconnect them.  They don't stop.

Metal Architecture mag - free to trades
Etiquette poor training as usual for telemarketeers with no parental guidance no business schooling
Did NOT ID themselves with name, employer & what business they sought
only the personal name of the company owner
Caller ID screen reported "Caller ID" = slimey biz tactic

They were informed they were tying up a business line dedicated to incoming business, no solicitation allowed - send needs via USPS

My impression was they were training (poorly) high schoolers as summer workers

Heavily accented caller asked to update husband's subscription info for "Digital [something] magazine. I told him I had to take a message. He said "I have this [name, email etc. ]] subscription info and I just want to confirm it." When I still refused, he said he'd call back for him. Not gonna happen, buddy.
