Scum deadbeats ...Keep calling for somebody that isn't at this phone number.

They've been calling me for 7 years asking for a guy I've never heard of. It's my work cell phone. Guess the guy they're after had the same phone number before it was assigned to me.

They wouldn't verify whether they was a bill collector. Wanted to verify my last 4 SS.Plenty of background noise.I didn't verify and then they attempted to verify my address which was wrong.They snapped an attitude when I didn't. Very unprofessional if it was a debt collector. I hung up.

Contract Callers, Inc. was collecting a debt from 7 years ago that I wasn't even aware of. I agreed to pay and mail in a check. The lady stated that she wasn't able to accept a settlement with a mailed in check but I could give her my checking account info or credit card over the phone. I hung up and called the company which stated they hadn't hired or contracted anyone to work on their behalf, I paid the unknow debt with the real company and then received another call from the scammers. I informed the rep from the scam company that the gig was up and I knew they were fake. She told me I was an idiot and I had better pay the debt I walked out on, I told her I was filing a FCC harassment via communication warrant against the company and her personally and not to call me again. She said so more foul words (which I matched with equally as offensive words) and I hung up on her. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY INFORMATION!!!!!

 Got a call from this number stating that I owed 75.00 to Double Day Book club from back in 2004.I have never been a member of that book club,so I asked her to send me verification of the bill.She said she would send it right out.I haven't gotten anything yet.I had told her that I didn't owe it and she said maybe the letter would "jog my memory"!
 Even tho I don't owe this bill,does anyone know what the time limitations for collections are in the state of Michigan?According to her this bill occured over 10 years ago. Thank You
 

The statute in Michigan is 6 years.  Here is the specific info.  They cannot legally collect from you, but that is common with all these bottom feeder collection "agencies".  http://www.legislature.mi.gov/%28S%28isowr455 ... me=mcl-600-5807

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I got a call from this number 706-250-4367 and they said were from Verizon and that I owed them money, $95.77, well I knew I had paid my bill and have a credit on my account so I told her I wasn't paying her nothing. I called Verizon customer service at the 800 number and they didn't know anyone at that number 706-250-4367 and they had no records of anyone calling today from Verizon.

The called and said they were Contract Callers, Inc. and were contracted by Doubleday Book Club for a debt of $68 for a membership from 2001...LOL...but would settle it for $34.  What a bargain!

I asked them where the books were delivered in 2001 and they have no idea.  I lived in another state.  I hung up and blocked their number.

The called claiming to be representing the scifi book club claiming I owed them money

people are scamming all the time, they get your number from online from creditors; then they bogus so sort of
bills you owe, this is such a nunance.

They keep calling my office. Obviously this is a place of business and bottom feeders should not be looking for an individual during work hours. Idiots...

Called us on a second home line that is used strictly for business - and the occasional sweepstakes entry.  For that reason, I let it go to ans. machine, fully expecting it was a scam.  We have NO CREDIT tied to this number, so it couldn't possibly be an old bill in our name; on top of the fact that we pay all our bill on time and in full and have an excellent credit score, so know there could not possibly be any legit debt tied to this number.

Of course the scammers did not leave a message; they don't want to be caught being recorded with their scam; evidence for the COURTROOM!

Came here and saw that my suspicions are confirmed.  Now will BLOCK and REPORT.

Got the call 30 minutes ago, on my PRIVATE, UNLISTED IncomingCall-ONLY home business line.  NO CREDIT tied to this #, which I've had for OVER 10 yrs, so any 'collection' call for a former holder of this #  would be moot, anyway.  I let it go to ans. machine; no msg left.  Thanks to all the info here will now BLOCK and REPORT.

This number calls me daily. I never answer it and they never leave a message.

Said I ordered DVD in 2009 from Columbia,   and said they sent a letter last year saying I owed $ 139. PLUS,  told them I will report them to my states consumers bureau.

scam, called today on a number I have had for less than a month.  Tried to get personal info.

This # keeps calling my office, but no one says anything..

Caller called me twice back to back, I did not answer neither call nor did they leave a voicemail. Good thing I didn't I guess!
