This number has been calling me at least once a week for several weeks. I came here to see what people were saying and decided to answer when they called today. He ask for me by my first and maiden name (havent used that last name since 2007). I told him he had the correct person and he wanted me to verify my address. I told him I wasnt verifying anything until he told me why he was calling. He said "I can verify with your social".. again I told him I was not verifying ANYTHING until he told me why he was calling. His response- "I'll mark our records that we have the wrong number" and he hung up on me. Has to be a scam. No legitimate bill collector would mark your number as "the wrong number" when you already confirmed you ARE who they ask for. Also, I have no bad debts for anyone to be collecting.

Got a call from these people several times! This guy name Devin, said I owe a debt, but couldn't say what debt it was! Wanted me to verify my address and social! Sorry but I'm not crazy! SCAMMERS! !!!!!!

the company name. with this number is, Contract Callers Inc.  they are nothing but a scam. they called my wife and said that  we owe for a coffin.

the guy say he was contract callers debt collection company trying to collect for a old debt on me. /from a book club!! i am not and never was in a book club!!

Sometimes when I am having a bad day and need someone to take it out on. These rotten scamming jerks are perfect.
Today an idiot called me with that trash scam. I took a deep breath and let the frustration out of me. Oh my goodness it was great. I said some really crazy stuff to that rude sow. She was nasty, I really enjoyed letting her have it. Then I promptly blocked the number and now I feel soooooo relaxed.

Another caller who didn't bother to leave a message. Seriously??

This number calls me twice a week. Never leaves a message. SCAM!

Called and no vm. Called more then one time blocked number now.

This is fake and a scam! They said I owed $55.34 for DVD's. I never order them online. I asked them to send me something regarding the charges and they said they have and they will try again. I never got anything. Also, they said I could be removed from the calling list but not from the debt collection agency. If this was real they would not tell me that,

I ignored the number the first time they called, then decided to answer after reading the comments here.

They confirmed my name, asked if my address was familiar (I'll give them points for not asking me to provide my address, and they never asked for the last four of my SSN), then told me they were attempting to collect $182 on behalf of Literary something. I said I didn't believe I owed any such debt, and asked she send written validation (per Colorado Fair Debt Collection Practices Act).

She snapped that if I didn't think I owed the debt, why didn't I dispute it? Since it doesn't show up on my credit report, I wouldn't have any reason to dispute, but I only told her that I was not going to discuss it further until I received written validation. She said if I'd let her finish talking, she was trying to help me: I told her I didn't believe she was, in fact, trying to help me, and that I know my rights under CFDCPA, and the company is required to send written validation of the debt. She said, "Thank you and have a nice day," and hung up.

After I got off the phone, I got on the Colorado Attorney General website, and found they have a list of valid, licensed collection agencies. When I looked up Contract Callers Inc., it turns out their license expired 7/2/15 due to "failure to renew or maintain a surety bond/cash assignment." I wish I'd known that before I answered - I'd have added that not only do I know my rights, I also happen to know they aren't licensed to collect debts in Colorado regardless. If you're going to talk to them, you may want to see if your state requires licensing of collectors, and if they're up-to-date on theirs.

They wouldn't tell me who they were or why they called unless I verified who I was. I wasn't about to verify who I am for someone I don't know.

They wanted personal info like my name & address. I wouldn't verify any of that and they refused to tell me who they were.

Telemarketer's. I hate them.

I just called them back again. lol And I took someone's idea of asking them to send me written validation of my debt.

He told me my debt was from BMG Music.  OMG!!!  Wasn't that a  mail order service from like 30 yrs ago where you could get a certain number of tapes or cd's for a penny? lol  I have never ordered anything from there and even if I did it was like 25 yrs ago and I have moved since then. So how did they get my new address and new number??  I told them not to call again and they said they put me on their "Do Not Call List"

If they were real collection agency, they wouldn't have a "Do Not Call List."  They have to continue to call you to collect the debt, I believe. So this to me is a direct reason that they aren't legit. If you get a call from them, please report them to Police & the Better Business Bureau  They are just calling to harass you

Asked me to verify my mailing address. Then they said I owed Columbia House DVD $75.00.  1. I don't owe them  2. I haven't had Columbia House DVD since about 18 years ago and I didn't live at that address or have this cell number at the time.  RUDE as heck and a scam!  Wouldn't offer proof at all.

Just your typical low life scum bag thief is all there is from this number.

For the record, they have now called 7/29, 8/4 and 9/23. I have reported them to the Collection Agency regulation group at Colorado's Attorney General's office.

When numbers like this come up on my TV Screen I do not answer. It is from Augusta Ga. I get calls from all over the U.S.A. with area codes no 1-800's. They are always asking for Kelly White, Judy Reno, Barbara Harris and the names go on. I answered way back last year and these same numbers and names were asked. I told them to take this number off list. I have reported these to the Bureau and all they tell me it will take long time to get them because so many scammers out there. They told me to tell them to not call anymore and I can sue them Etc. I have told them and it still keeps happening that is why I never answer call anymore unless I know them. SCAMMERS WILL PAY FOR THIS ON THERE JUDGEMENT DAY.

I forgot to mention above in my comments that back when they called last year and I told them I was not Kelly White or Judy Reno they told said to me then why is there name coming up under your phone number?
I said to them it is possible they had this number at 1 time because with so many numbers out there you CAN NOT get a number that no one has ever had anymore. I was told be telephone company, cable and all phone numbers you get now days wither cell or land line have been used before. Well after I told them this they had the gall to say you are trying to cover up you are these people. That is when I got MAD AND TOLD THEM WHERE TO GO AND HOPED THEY HAD IT ON RECORDING BECAUSE I WAS CALLING MY LAWYER AND REPORTING THEM BECAUSE THEY CALLING ME A LIAR. I HUNG UP. WELL  FOR LONG TIME THEY NEVER CALLED AGAIN  AND NOW THEY STARTING AGAIN.

Called again today, over 10 months later.  Not sure how they got through; I'd blocked them in January.  Same MO this time; NO NAME, NO MSG, Same incoming line that is NOT tied to ANY credit whatso ever, although we DO use it as the 'contact #' for several Big Chain Stores' Store Discount Cards (NOT credit) , that have been HACKED in recent years.  BLOCKED it 'again' today.

Interestingly enough, this call cam in just 90 minutes after a call from "FOUND AMER VETS" at 617-209-2020 which is a FAKE, PHONY SCAM 'charity' and has ALSO been BLOCKED since their first TWO calls on 10/17/15.  Suspect there is some kind of connection between these two SCAMMERS.
