- RustyFrog replies to JayJust moments ago, Microsoft did use this number to verify I was the person changing my profile info on the Live.com website. I asked Microsoft to call me for the purposes of verification. I have multiple accounts with Microsoft on their Live website, Outlook website and more. To help isolate my personal Outlook email from my corporate Microsoft Developers Network (MSDN) accounts I sign in with different credentials. I have ask Microsoft to send me codes, with by TXT or phone.

- sfr| 1 replyI want to confirm to everyone that this is the number Microsoft called from to send me a verification code. It was an automated call but with a legitimate purpose. It may well be used by other companies too, to automatically create and send verification codes for purchases, sign-ins, etc.

- CassidiI just got a new phone and number and this number has called me SIX TIMES THIS MORNING. BETWEEN 8:00 am and 11:00 am pacific time, with a verification code. It's annoying as hell. I am getting SMS texts from a different number for WhatsCall with a verification code.. And other calls from a +44 7873 number that must be international because I know that their telephone numbers are set up in a different format. The last 6 digits change every time they call and hang up if I do answer whether I speak or not they've called 4 times this same morning and twice yesterday right after I activated this device.
- Caller: Unknown, WhatsCall, and another Unknown
- Jack SofolotMicroSoft also use this service as a callback, to verify a code. Codes required for Windows accounts, as I just had to reset one this morning.
- Caller: Microsoft verification code
- DeeI just booked with airbnb and wanted to use my home phone as confirmation...they call from this number to give you a 4 digit code to then enter on-line...it is all legit. If you haven't booked with airbnb then someone probably gave them your number by accident or something.
- Peggy in VegasCaller claims to be from Microsoft Technical Support saying you have a virus and will give you a code and when you use it you are opening up to Team Viewer and you are giving them access to your account and remote control.
- AmirI am not even in the US or Canada and still this number called me twice today at about 4:30 GMT. The call took about 19 sec. during which the caller (robot or whatever) did not say anything.
- Caller: Re. : 714-707-3260
- Barbara replies to JorgeJorge, your comment is absolutely RUDE and it is wrong. VERIFY is a service that sends a code when you are trying to change a password on an account. It is set to keep hackers from changing your account password. I just received about ten calls in a row. I am furiously going through accounts to see which one was being hacked.
- lola replies to AmyHow can you find out if someone made an account with your phone number
- Mel replies to Jorge| 1 replyActually, they're correct. When you request a verification code to be sent to confirm your Hotmail email address, this is the number that comes up. I had them call both my cell and my work numbers because I couldn't remember which number I had used, and this was the number that came up in both of the caller ID's. It's for Microsoft.
