I have received 2 calls from them

This is a legit call. I changed my password on my OUTLOOK account and they called me from this number with a code number so I could complete my password change. No problem with this number.......It is NOT a scam. I was expecting the call....it was fine.

I have none of the accounts listed above. (Microsoft, Verizon,  AOL)    Our Yahoo addresses are older and were set up with a 2nd verification email,  not a phone number.  This number called my house at 10:30pm on a Sunday night.   No one was, or had been on any device, making changes to any accounts.  This is not the first time we've received this type of call.  I don't believe it is a verification number.  IF it is, it is very likely someone is spoofing a valid number to autocall numbers to verify working numbers for a 3rd party telemarketer,  who will be calling at another point in time.

This number called my husband to verify it was him logging in to his Hotmail account when he used the new browser with the VPN service.  He was  using a proxy server in Canada, so they verified he wasn't being hacked.

You need a category Call Type: Legitimate.

If you ever posted your phone number on a social site, or used it when ordering online, or typed it in an insecure computer, or gave it to a friend whose computer was attacked, or filled out an entry form at a fair or a supermarket, or used it on a contest entry form, or put it on a postcard for a magazine or purchase, or were among those whose information was hacked from some organization, or obtained a "new" phone number ... your number is probably known to the scammers.

Allow me to present another possibility in a very simple fashion ... not to insult your intelligence, but to attempt to get the idea across to even those who have difficulty understanding more complicated answers.  Click on the "Info" line, below, to learn about that possibility.


There, now you know all about how spammers can dial YOUR phone number, even if it is unlisted, and even if only relatives know it, and even if it is on or off the DNC list.

I hope that helps prove the DNC list DOES work!  It helps prevent calls from registered / legitimate telemarketers, but it is not able to stop calls from telespammers.  It is also NOT designed to stop political callers (who usually get the numbers from voter registration lists), calls from charities, or some other companies, such as debt collectors; or some companies with which you have done business in the last 18 months.

I did not verify to have any one call me to give me a code. I am not sure if someone is trying to break into one of my online accounts, or if someone erroneously used my phone number to verify one of their accounts. Either way, it is not verified by me.

Hi, I get a call from this number late at night at 3:18 AM and I don't know this country code or the phone number pls find who is the person who call me

This number called me at 2:30 am and left me a code number on voice mail.  I had no idea who this was or what the code was for.

Called twice, no message left. Phishing no doubt.

I just received a call with an automated recording saying a verification code. So I don't know if it is Microsoft or not, but you're the one who is wrong. By the way, I am an IT Certified Specialist (As if that matters)

You're correct.  I had Best Buy come to my house to fix my printer and other computer-related issues.  The worker used this number to verify something for me,a nd I received a phone number immediately from them.  The service is legitimate, but, as usual, beware of "spoofing".  If you didn't seek assistance form this company or if no computer worker did, I'd simply not answer the phone.

These [***] called us at 1:30 am. These people are the lowest of humanity, thieves who hide behind a computer to harass people.

I get a call from this # every time I log into my company's web-based payroll system. It sends verification codes, for example- when you log into a site from a new IP address or browser. I always clear my cookies and use private browsing so I have to re-authenticate with their server every time.

Bear in mind that numbers can be spoofed. If you were not expecting a code, ehh... just be careful out there.
