- LAURA replies to audie| 1 replyOMG. I have been getting these calls too and from these posts I realized it was from Macy's. I asked my husband if we are late and he says no. I think I will answer next time to just see what they say
- Renee WelchCalls 2-3 times each evening, recorded message says, "We have an important message for you, but all of our representatives are busy. Please hold.". Very disruptive. My husband has held for a person twice and told them to remove us from the list to no avail.
- Caller: MCCS
- LASNumber keeps calling and I usually don't pick up. Today they called twice - I picked up both times, said Hello and nobody responded. I said "Stop calling here" and hung up. Very annoying! What's the point of being on the Do Not Call List if these nuisance calls keep coming in?
- Caller: MCCS
- SpaI got 3 calls from them today trying to get my account information to make a payment. I told her I would pay online- she got upset and kept trying to convince me to give her my information. My payment is not due for another month.
- stretchGet a phone that you can block numbers with. I finally have a little quite around here. Phone rings once and thats it.

- annoyed by the callI have gotten 2 calls from this number today (Sunday). No message left, just a hang up.
- Caller: unknown
- LukeI don't know if it's Macy's or not, but I keep getting calls as well. They hang up as soon as I pick up and if you call them back you get an automated message that the line may be recorded and then someone picks up. They sound though as if you are on speaker phone and I can faintly here what sounds to be a woman talking but I can't tell if they are talking to me or someone else. I told them to stop calling me but I have no idea if anyone is listening, kind of strange call.

- AnnaI have been getting calls from several different numbers. How do we stop them??
- Dorothy replies to Frank| 13 repliesHere is the problem with Macy's collections (if this is legitimate). While I fully admit to missing a payment on my store card which I corrected, I continued to receive calls from both this number as well as 513-573-8031. This second number was also identified as Macy’s Collections in this website. Since I have been the recipient of a significant number harassing phone calls and robocalls, I found myself forced into researching this area quite extensively just to preserve my sanity. What I have found is that scammers generally use multiple phone numbers while legitimate attempts to collect on a past due amount usually come from one source (phone number). In addition to that, scammers get hits just by taking a shot in the dark because the odds are greater in this economy for people to miss one or two payments on a credit card which makes the person receiving the call feel like it is legitimate. At least in my experience Macy’s traditionally does not call when a payment is missed; especially when someone has a history of paying steady, paying off in full and paying more than the minimum so I am especially wary of these calls. Anyway, I try to help others by passing along whatever information I find out so here are a few tips I would like to share with both you and anyone who hits this site:
1. Only the person receiving the phone call knows if they have been tardy with a payment – if you have, contact the company using the phone number that is printed on the credit card or statement you receive and not the one on your phone
2. Find out the legitimate numbers for all the credit cards that you have and add them into your phone with an ID. I am attempting to do this right now and while it is time-consuming, I find that when you explain to these companies that you have a genuine concern over identify theft and fraud, they cooperate where they can
3. Pay your bill as soon as you are aware of the error
4. Research as best as you can all phone numbers that you receive – see what others are saying about those calls; they generally come in waves
5. Be wary of CC companies that use multiple phone numbers
6. Be wary of CC companies that are asking you for information they should already have on file
7. When you have to send a payment, do so in the same way you have done in the past. Don’t do anything over the phone etc.
8. If you get a lot of calls that are not legitimate and are genuine harassment and robocalls, invest in a “call blocker” program. I have my home phone forwarded to my cell phone for a couple of reasons:
a. I do not like to miss important calls while I am at work
b. I can screen all calls I receive on my cell phone and research them right away
c. I can send semi-legitimate/legitimate calls directly to my voice mail and I can block any calls that appear to be robocalls or scams
d. Blocking robocalls – Once a robocall has tried three consecutive times to dial your number and has been unsuccessful (the call blocker hangs up the call with no voice mail), it stops trying. While it could and sometimes tries that number again (say a month down the road) the same thing will happen until it eventually stops trying that number. Remember that a robocall is just a machine trying to connect so if you answer it and then hang up or send it to voice mail that is still a connection and it will never go away but if the connection is immediately severed, it is programmed to ignore that number.
e. I used to get unknown and private calls all the time, now I do not get any. In fact because of the phone number data base I have amassed in my call blocker program, the only time I get harassment/robocalls now is when a new number hits the streets.
I hope this post helps someone. - CarolynToday there were 5 calls from MMCS 727 556-5492. This has been going on for some time. I'll check on our Macy's card. If these calls originate from Macy's, our family will cut up our card after we tell the company.

- Parker LerewThis number keeps showing up on my Caller ID when they call several times a day. If I answer, they don't talk. If it goes to the answering machine, they don't leave a message, just hang up. I'm on the do-not-call list as well. This has been going on now for about a week. I want them to stop their annoying phone calls.
- Nyc girlThis is not only Macy's its also Bloomingdales they use the same two phone numbers this one and one starting in area code 513
- Caller: Macy's/bloomingdaies
- Call type: Debt collector
- StacyI just got a call from this number but didn't answer because I'm at work. I looked on here and it says Macy's...I do have a Macy's card but my payment's not due for a month!
- ChrisStarted receiving calls from this number yesterday. Am ignoring them. Strangely, I received a call from my local area code that asked me to hold for an important message -- operators were busy -- before the Florida calls started coming in.
One time I did answer a similar call after I had accidentally skipped a payment. I was asked to pay immediately over the phone, rather than on the website, because the website payment wouldn't be credited for 3 days! I told them that they were wrong -- the website payment WOULD be credited the same day -- although the payment would not be displayed on the website for up to three days. The "operator" just grunted -- no thank you or appreciation for the payment. I was a bit miffed at the time -- now I realize after reading all the posts here that it was likely an independent collection agency trying to scam me.
BTW -- an independent collection company with a subscription to one of the credit reporting services can obtain information such as missed payments if they've gathered other information about you. I've had credit cards for many, many years, and have rarely been called over one missed payment.- Caller: Not sure -- didn't answer calls
- PRFsfoI've gotten numerous calls from this number in the last few days, including 2 today. (Today is Sunday, 05/19/13) While I have a Macy's card, the balance is zero and I never use it. So whatever is going on is not right. No matter, I put them on the call blocker and the phone doesn't even ring. I just see their number on the log.
- Caller: Not sure. Did not answer
- JimCalls, leaves no message. What about the national "Do not Call" list. If you want something leave a message.
- PeterBeen called 10 times in the last 2 days by this number. Answered 2nd time and no one was there. There is never a message left.

- SherrieWe had an identity theft problem with our Macy's card and we got it straightened out. Only purchased 1 thing on it and then 2 months later we get a bill with over $300 worth of stuff bought on it. We had to send in our info and signatures to compare with who signed for the stuff that was bought for proof it wasn't us. We were cleared and they closed our acct. Now they say a new card was issued and more stuff was bought and bill was never paid and they keep calling us. Our acct is closed
