this number has called my cell three times today and two yesterday...I guess it is portfolio collections.....never leaves a message

We are not currently, nor have we ever been, past due on any debts so I know this is a scam if it's a debt collector.  They can keep calling.  I'm not answering.

Portfolio Recovery Collection Agency bottom feeders they call from so many different phone numbers.  They collect on old debt mostly out of SOL.

rec'd a call from this # on my cell which is not on posted the internet like my house is as I have a business from home. I hardly use my cell, mostly for emergencies, they left a dead air message, turned up the volume but could not hear anyone or anything. ???

These guys are trying to collect a debt from 1998 an say I still owe on it . Um the statue of limitations in the state I lived in says they have six years to collect . I'm sure that time has come and gone !!!

Hey Portfolio: Tell your Indian sweat shop employees that it violates Texas State collection law to call on Sunday. I intend to file for damages outlined in the statute & attorney fees. I am an attorney and have the right to collect fees even though I will handle my own case......Do you honestly think that you will collect on a contested debt from the early 1990's?

This person called knew my name talked southern accent was female, really nasty.  I refused to confirm my name until she said why or for who the call was for.  She then acted really nasty and hung up.  It was so out of the ordinary I typed in the number on google and got this website.  time of call was feb 3 2014 around 1 pm if any help to authorties.

Thanks everyone for the info -- these bottom feeders are just about the dregs of the dregs.  Called my phone about 6:30 pm -- needless to say, no message.  I have received several printed messages in snail mail as well as phone calls (which never ever leave voice mails thank you) and have a record of 9 different telephone numbers the a**es are using.  The written messages all deal with purported credit card debts which were dealt with during a bankruptcy over 10 years ago.  I finally quit even trying to communicate with them.  Appreciate all the posts.

Better yet, get the "aFirewall" app for Android,  then it won't even allow them to leave a voice mail - which can tie up your voice mail time and also let's them be aware that they have called a correct number. The "aFirewall" app has "several" options - one of which I use, that actually answers the phone without even ringing and then "hangs up" automatically, eliminating any possibility of them leaving a voice mail.  Try it - good luck!

Calls and never leaves a message.

This is Portfolio Recovery. My Ex-husband owed a debt on a Walmart credit card from way before him and I even got married. I called them back and asked them to remove my number, and the lady I spoke with was very nice about it.

I received a call from them Tuesday from a different number with a Miami area code. They left no message. I returned their call and told them they had the wrong number. That I did not know the person they were looking for. They apologized. Now I received a call from this tennessee #. Clearly telling them they have the wrong # does nothing. I'll just keep adding their #'s to my rejected call list so I never have to hear my phone ring. Stupid morons.

I received a call earlier today, I never answer unknowns. Looked it up here on this site.
I did have to bankrupt a couple of years back, I know they can't legally collect on that debt. They can harass the dickens out of a person though.

they called me today asking for a Man I did not know when I said they had the wrong number they asked me again if I knew the man. Idiots.

I just got a call from this number and returned the call. I told the guy to stop calling my number. Then he asked my name so he could look it up. I did not give him my name then I said to look up the name registered to my number. After that he got mad and raised his voice. Then I started yelling at him. Push comes to shove, I ended up cussing him out, then he hung up. I really hope he calls again.

This number has called my cell phone twice. No msg either time. Other posts here state it's a debt collection agency but I don't have any debts so that can't be it, but I'm not calling them back to find out.

Please do not call my number again.

I read where everyone says it's a collection agency but they call me as well and I have no debts.  I don't know what's going on.  They never leave a message.
