- Dodd replies to BethAre they associated with Pressler and Pressler? I just won a case against them when they tried to bully me into paying them for an account that was through credit fraud. They are scumbags! They give attorneys a very bad name! They are the worst of the worst!
- jojo replies to Mimiohjust got a call from them on my cell at 4:58 pm who is this ?? anyone know what they want oar what their deal is ?
- needaThey keep calling me from different numbers
- Call type: Debt collector
- Head ventricle| 1 replyTrying to collect on a credit card that I currently own and have been current on for 7+ years, ever since I got it.
Would not give any info on the account and wanted everything from me including my bank info. It's like they picked a random "major name" card that I just so happen to have and made it look like I forgot a payment years ago and they are trying to collect on it plus gargantuan interest and fees.
Sorry guys, I'm a bit smarter than that, nice try though. This company is clearly a scam that apparently has quite a few phone numbers!- Caller: Portfolio Recovery
- joesmo replies to harrythehatThere is a very good app for cell phones called privacy star,it automatically tells you if the caller is a scammer or debt collector,it allows you to not only block the number they just called from,it blocks all their numbers! It also allows you to make a complaint,it's great give it a try! Privacy Star!
- Tired of the BSThis is a company called Portfolio Recovery. They don't leave a message but they have many numbers, this is the 15 th number we have blocked in one year. They also use local numbers as well as several numbers from TN TX FL, we owe them nothing but they continue to call and harass. Sick of this ? Block every number they use , look it up here and then block them , one of these days we will succeed in blocking them all, dirt bags

- mimiPortfolio has been calling me for years. It might be an old debt from before the year 2000. I have no clue as they CAN'T come with anything to prove I even owe it. THEY recycle old debts and make them look like new......THERE ARE COLLECTION LAWS!!!!!!! IF YOU REPORT THEM TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE STATE THEY ARE CALLING FROM......THE CALLS WILL STOP!!!! THEY CAN LOSE THEIR LICENSE TO COLLECT FOR HARRASSMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I KNOW that Portfolio calls people about a debt that is 30 years old!!!!
TIME TO SHUT THEM DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THEY WILL CONTINUE TO BUG ALL OF US UNLESS EACH ONE OF US REPORTS THEM TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE STATE THEY ARE CALLING FROM!!!! Portofolio is the most complained about debt collection company.- Caller: Portfolio
- Call type: Debt collector
- nanaPortfolio Recovery. This company continues calling both me & my husband. He had a debt over 14 years ago, very small amount of money. Why do these people continue calling & refuse to leave a message. This debt is long past the legal statute of limitations.
- Caller: portfolio recovery
- robPortfolio collection trying to get me to pay for a credit card I paid off

- TawnieI get calls from different, random numbers all the time. And everytime I google it, it's always a collection agency. Thing is, is that I just bought a brand new car...and to buy a brand new car I had to have my credit run. I actually got to see my credit report and there is not one hiccup on it. I don't know what they are calling for but they are full of [***]. Just ignore it. Don't answer. And then block the number.
- RonNeed to remember this. If you owe a debt and these idiots spend their money to buy it is like this. You do not have to deal with them. You tell them that by right deal with the dept with original place you have the debt. And these collectors can't do a thing about. Their money lost when the bought it
- TonyCheck the statute of limitations in your state. If the debt is older then that, and you haven't made payments to them, they can't sue you (they can, but they won't win). Also, if you send them a certified letter stating you no longer wish to receive phone calls and all future corrospondance should be in writing, the calls will stop. If they don't, answer them, and get the person you talked to, time, date ...etc. Then go see a lawyer. There's plenty of info online about this company. But these are junk debt buyers, and will not stop calling you. And until it goes to court, they can't do anything to you but call.

- Kirko replies to Head ventricleI believe you! I believe that Portfolio Recovery is doing this.
Several years ago, there was a different bottom feeder doing something similar with ancient Sprint phone records. At the time, I had not used Sprint in over 18 years. There was absolutely no "forgotten" unpaid charges. Whoever this "collection agency" was (I can't recall the name their name at the moment), they sent me a collections notice for an amount that was entirely made up - they invented just any number they thought someone might pay, then offered to settle my "account" for 10% off. I laughed at the cojones it took to even think up a scam like this, and to then try and actually extort money from people.
Now, get this. This same company sent collection notices to every previous owner of my house - some of them are not even alive anymore! I opened all of them and it was the exact same scam.
I gathered up all these notices and all other evidence I had and sent it all to the Texas State Attorney General. Since then, I have not heard of that "collection agency" any more, anywhere. People on 800notes do not even complain of that company calling them. No matter what people say about Texas politicians, the AG will shut these "collection agencies" down in a minute, which makes me glad to have these kinds of big guns on my side.
Now, let's do it to Portfolio Recovery. They're not trying to recover anything. They're lying! - C CameronJust got a no voice mail call. If you have an iPhone with a newer IOS you can block phone numbers, which is what I did.
- fn replies to FrustratedI have filed a complaint against them with my State DA office. They try to collect on fake accounts as well. My attorney could not get a straight answer from them of who and how much I owed. Found nothing I owe through credit report systems. We also think they are behind calls people are receiving stating they are going to be served at a certain time and place and to have two ids ready and sign for the warrant. All fraudulent.
- Smith replies to CaseyBut did she do it or are they still calling?
- JosephAha.. So it's the Portfolio Recovery slimeball company again.. What a company of trash. Republican owned.

- JANE DOE| 1 replyGot a call today from a man. He was very rude. He didn't even verify who he was speaking with. He just assumed I was the person he was looking for...He just straight dunned me...I called Capital One. They don't even know who they are, but they are portraying another company...I advised him he should verify first before he gives out info about someone's debt. He blew off the handle. I wish I could remember what his name was. He went off on me...He hung up in my face...
