Yes, the do-not-call list DOES apply to them.  It only doesn't if you've had contact with them before.

734-542-7758 was on caller i.d. this evening with no message left.  From what I have read here, this particular company is obviously not trustworthy.

I have, however, received many survey calls in the past that were legit.  I try to participate as often as I can for two reasons:

1. Legitimate surveys are typically part of a study, and I see it as a "voice" that I would otherwise most likely not have.  I've never been asked for money, and am happy to take a few minutes to answer questions that might possibly lead to positive changes in our lives - especially in the areas of education and health related issues.

2. The interviewers are only doing their job...why be rude to them?  They read from a scripted dialogue and input the responses they receive into a computerized system that will later be analyzed for the purpose of public opinion.  I don't understand why anyone would not want to be a part of this process.  It's a simple way to make a difference.

BTW - as long as no one asked you for money, the do-not-call lists DOES NOT apply to surveys and calls from polling institutions - e.i. Neilson Ratings.

Every freaking day I have to tolerate idiots calling my home at all hours and harassing me!  I am soooooo sick of it and can't understand why it is allowed.  I'm buying a whistle, and the very next idiot that calls my number is gonna get blasted full throttle!!!!  I don't care if it permanantly damages their freaking ears; it will serve them right!  I absolutely HATE those people.  Why they aren't behind bars is beyond my comprehension.

I've been receiving calls from the number 734-542-7758(Livonia,Michigan)for the past week or so. I've never bothered to pick up the telephone because  I didn't recognize the number and  the calls always come in after 6:00 p.m. I went on line and discovered the calls were coming from Marketing Strategies.

Got a call today. Thought it might have been my brother who may have been using a promotional phone card.

Came up as 734-542-7758 on my caller ID. For name, it came up as "MICHIGAN". I answered on the 4th ring, and it was a dial tone. The thought of getting rid of my home phone and relying on my cell is looking better all the time...

I kept getting calls.  I went to their website and told them not to call me.  Their privacy states that I would be removed in 3 business days.  Guess what?  They called again.  I called their corporate headquarters in Livonia - 734.542.7600 - and talked to someone.  They removed my number right then.  We'll see if they keep their word.

I never answer calls I don't recognize numbers for, and this was no exception.  I was called at 5:55pm on a Sunday, and immediately googled the number.  I saw all the other comments about whomever this is, and the fact that I'm not the only one they don't leave a message for.

It's annoying.  Stop calling.

This is the kind of thing you mean people brag about. I cannot believe anyone would do that to people only trying to earn a decent living and not try to sell anything or rip you off. I work in Market Research due to severe disabilities and cannot believe someone like you can look in a mirror and brag about someone taking their hearing away. How dare you! I have read other comments on other sites from evil people like you. I hope God strikes you in the arm with lightening for your evilness. Karma Breeds Karma and it always will. It will never ever change.

Keep getting calls from Market Strategies, phone number 734-542-7758.  They never leave a message.  I am on the "Do Not Call" list and want these people to STOP CALLING!  I never answer a call when I don't know who is calling, so they are just wasting their time!

I would like to say this....it is a shame that you can get over 5 calls that have been answered and then hung up on. I have gotten 9 calls today. Thank you for those whom have posted not to be contacted form. For those of you that work for this firm, I wish you the best in all you do but I don't pay every month a large bill to be called so many times for nothing. Not all of us are on the normal schedule of 9-5 and my sleep is very important to me. If I answer by God say something.

I work for MSI Research and have worked in the Telephone Call Center industry for 16 1/2 years. This month we are conducting an important study for the Federal Government that they pay us to do. I called a lady in Pennsylvania and we have to speak to the one of the heads of the household 18 years of age or older. Her son was very polite and said we cld call back in 30 min. I got the call again 30 minutes later and asked for her. She came to the phone and said "Don't you know I am mowing my lawn". I kindly said I'm sorry I did not know you were mowing your lawn". She in her very rude fashion and manner called me a SNOTTY BROAD for NO REASON. I did nothing and I was very nice to her. Lady you had no right to call me that period.Did it make you feel good or feel important to do that lady from Pennsylvania? Are you going to tell everyone at work and in stores and on busses and trains you did this. Just so you know-Nobody gives a damn about this and will laugh at you for even saying something like that. You are a rude @#$%%^. Another lady I called tonight in Michigan I called and asked her the same things. She said take me off your DAMN List. I told her I would do that very nicely but could not guarantee another survey company and not us probably would call her and to make sure that she lets them all know. She said RUDELY AND MEAN "You have no rights to say anything and shut up lady". She said how's this for ya-"I am reporting you to the ATTORNEY GENERAL"S office. Never was I allowed to say anything. She said I had no rights to say anything. First of all lady just so you know-The Federal government pays for us to do these surveys and under the DO NOT CALL LAW surveys are exempt and we can LEGALLY CALL YOU regardless of how rude,mean, and nasty you are to us. I do have rights under FREEDOM of SPEECH of the US constitution to say anything I want to and no rude selfish B@#$%% has the right to do that to people only trying to make a living.The state Attorney General's office does not even govern the Do NOT call laws anymore. It changed in June 2003 when the No Call list was passed The DO NOT CALL law will never change no matter how rude,mean,crude or nasty you are to us because the Federal Government depends on us to do these surveys. And they always will. Be rude,mean and nasty to someone who can do something about it. We can't and they can't. The American people all they have to do is read on DONOTCALL.gov on the internet and it explains all of this. Also the other lady who called me that horrible name-the SNOTTY BROAD-All I was trying to do was ask your interest in doing the survey-I said nothing rude or unprofessional.
