    Can you tell us, please, for future reference, how you found him?  And, especially, how you are sure it is him?

    I am aware that at least one of the big three consumer credit bureau has been alleged to sell private information that may be useful to scammers, and that there may be other information exchanges that do the same, or worse.  But knowing how to track someone down and develop an iron-clad case against a particular scammer who may be using a spoofed number would be invaluable.  Perhaps the Holy Grail, in fact.

    This company is a fraud. They did a news report on Mr. Gambill and his entire "Collection in a box" scam. He owes out $200 million bucks to customers who obtained his services to collect for them. there is a class action lawsuit against this company and anyone that has been contact them are being urged to come forward. they get your information from all 3 credit bureaus so it is a hoax. its been a proven fact. all the information is correct for Ryon Gambill and if you google him and or the Maurauder Corp, you would be amazed at what you will find.

    >>Can you tell us, please, for future reference, how you found him?  And, especially, how you are sure it is him?

    1) Do some corporations searches, especially in California and Florida, you'll find him that way.

    2) His home address (La Sierra Drive) is public information IF you know the name, and now you do.

    3) There is a YouTube file with his voice. Compare it to the voice you hear on the phone-if nothing else, call (760) 423-1100 on a weekend and listen to the outgoing voicemail. It is him.

    4) Check out numerous court cases, many involving Experian. Experian admits that they sell him the data and that they have been taken to court over it many times.

    Fairfax County, VA, issued an arrest warrant against him for harassing calls. This has been verified.

    He has a criminal conviction in California for harassing calls.

    The State of California has sanctioned and investigated him for conducting unauthorized investigations.

    There you go-enough to sue him. He won't pay but as the lawsuits pile up, his life becomes unpleasant.

    got a missed call from this number, called back, the lady was really rude, started screaming in the phone, hung up, she blocked the number, called back, I didn't answer and left a nasty message stating that they're trying to resolve a matter when I just called to asked that I got a missed call.  what if i'm not even the person. OMG! what kind of company is this...I just looked up the number and found all of these comments.  Definitely does not deserve to do business especially if you have customer service skills.  I really don't care who you are.

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.
