i just recieved this call to... it worried me.dont enjoy being told that i am going to be arrested at 11 am tomorrow morning.... they rudly hung up on me and will not answer the phone when i call back..... i have a voicemail that they left on my phone the guy that called me his name was kevin

called and said that he needs to hear from me or my attorney today, said if he did not hear from anyone then all he could do was wish me good luck. Did not say what it was regarding nor who he was with.

I received a ridiculous amount of phone calls today, from this number. They called two times at my place of employment, of course during the rush!!  Thanks d-bags. I had to call back a "Eric", yet I could not understand ANYTHING they were saying. I recall them saying something about a loan. I called the number back, and got a woman, can't remember her name, and she immediately sounded official, and said she was an attorney. She started to tell me how I was going to court for ... and was VERY unclear as to what, other than I didn't pay on a loan, and how dare I not pay back on my loan, and then I was going to jail suddently at 4p.m. WHAT???!?!? I, being a single mother, immediately start panicing, because what??? I have to pick my son up. I don't understand what the goal is here, other that having ALL My information, which is frightening, and I guess you can ruin my credit even more than it already is. I guess it's not safe to buy anything online. LESSON LEARNED!!! Boo you [***] that called!! BOO!!!

Just talked to a paralegal from this number who wanted me to call and talk to a Mr. Michael in regards to a case they were going to represent me in. I had no idea, the gentleman I spoke to had an accent (India, maybe) had no information on the case but I had to call Mr. Michael back to talk about the case. I hung up on him.

I got a phone call from this number saying they was an attorney an i was going to be arrested it was everything that everyone else has said an they are still calling an leaving the same messages an theres even a female calling now i wish something would be done to these people

LaDee have also gotten the same thing since April 2012, some times calling 5-6 times a day and calls back to back, using different numbers, telling me I would have a warrant served on me and go to jail, also I would lose my social/security card for 7 years uses several numbers one is the one you were given, I also have been called from that one, another it is 717-889-9641 this one says from PA., and several more I wish I had saved but stupid me I did not. My attorney tells me this is a scam call and not to worry to just either let my answering machine get it and record it or on my Vonage voicemail which I can also get my message by audio as well as regular e mail so I will have it on a recording that way to. But as of 9/25/12 I am not going to answer these people again and I am not going to change my number, I wish you luck with these scammers but I believe they will give up someday. Good luck.

`LaDee`, I meant to ask you what is the name of the law firm that they say they are calling from and what name does the caller give you as his name. I am told STEVEN JONES ATTORNEY, AMERICAN LAW ENFORCEMENT DEPT., AND HIS NAME (AN AMERICAN NAME) SHAWN OR SEAN WITH A VERY HEAVY HINDU ACCENT.

This is a criminal extortion ring operating out of India. They are utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. ABC News released an investigative report on it in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

In the meantime, you are going to have to do whatever you can to protect yourself. That includes letting them know you are aware they are running a scam and are reporting them to the authorities.

they did me the same way. i just hung up on them. call the police dept too.
