received a strange distrubing call from 760 705-8888 number  person when i answered the call said, Hi granny?( i am not a grandmother) i said who are you? then he said Joe's grandson (joe is my husband who has a 4yr old grandson) I said again, Who?, then he said, it's me Auntie kathy ? (my name is Kathy) .

Call from 760-705-8888. There was a live person on the line. It was a personal call.

This man called my job, pretended to ask about an application he had placed, then quickly changed the subject to ask about my ten year old daughter and if i would introduce him to her so that he could take her out on a date. What a sick sick individual. I am unnerved that i can not identify this creep.

Yes this person called at 2:30 in the morning say they were Trevor's mom and do I have a daughter named Caroline.
Really at 2:30 in the morning.

Over two years later and this number is still being used by some scumbag.  Male called my dad on is home phone, stating he was his oldest grandson.  My dad (retired cop) not thinking, said my son's name and the guy said yeah.  Then he told him some BS story about being in jail in Escondido, CA and needing $2,000.  Dad was close to believing it but the guy kept talking and oversold himself a bit.  Dad asked him what his parents' names are and he hung up.  Sure wish there was a way to catch people like this and hold them accountable!  Obviously it has worked enough times for them since they continue to do it.  Throw their a$$es in jail for attempted extortion.  

That's a classic grandparent scam.  They call and out of the blue say "Grandpa"! or "Grandma"!   Then if they don't hear anything for a few seconds will say "Don't your recognize me"? or something like that.   They try to get a name out of you and then go into their spiel about being in jail somewhere or in an accident and unable to leave either   Canada or Mexico unless you send  money by Western Union to some third party.  Classic scam.  Been going on for a long, long time.  Originated in Canada.    They've tried it on me a couple of times and I've played along for a while.  Then let them know I know it's a scam.  They hang up fast.

Next time I think I'll go along and  send 'em $1.00 by Western Union.  Then give them the wrong control number a few times. Make 'em work for the $1.00.  Just keep messing with them for as long as possible.

My grandmother got a call from this number this morning. They seemed to have a lot of information about my family calling my grandmother Nana which if what we call her. He kept asking if she knew who he was and kept asking until she gave him a name of who she thought he was. He said he needed bail money got pulled over in California for Marijuana in the van (we live nowhere near California). Crying and asking my grandmother for her credit card number. My grandmother, unable to get ahold of me at the time, came to my house worried about my family sense she though it was my fiancé on the phone. Thank goodness she did not give them her credit card number instead my grandfather jumped in and hung up the phone because the voice did not sound like my fiancé. This really needs to stop !! Do NOT believe anything this number says and do not answer!!!

( a male disguising his voice & in a windy area outside) Received a call from 760-705-8888 (that I ignored & a voicemail was left) stating I won $100,000 from Publishing Clearing House and for me to call 888-555-4343

we are constanting being called in the middle of the night by this number 760-705-8888. It is harassing to be called every 30 secs for hours. Please make it stop!

Where are you on this?  My 99 yr. old mother had a call from "Alex Moran" at the same number.  He said her grandson
Michael was in prison in Cuernavaca, Mexico and she should send $1100 to get him out.  I called and he said he was
with the Embassy.  I asked if he was a Consular Officer, he said he was.  And then he went on about wiring the money
via Western Union but not to say anything because of the Patriot Act.  Etc., exc.  I've talked to our police force and they
admit there is nothing they can do.  "Alex Moran" has just called back asking if I have the receipt from Western Union.
I told him my mother has it.  He has since called AGAIN, but I didn't answer.

Any ideas?

No one here is calling you so we can not help.  Consider purchasing a phone that can block calls.  This is a website for complaints  only and has nothing to do with your calls.
