Some guy called saying he is from MEDCO prescription company. He wanted my social security number so he could verify that I really am who he says I am. I told him he needs to verify who HE is before the conversation continues; he hung up.

By the way... "Reporting" this call from 772-335-4498 is actually doing what? Am I simply reporting to a blog? Do FBI agents read this blog? Is this just some kind of therapy? Who reads this blog, others bloggers that were attempted targets of scams?

It's not Medco.  Medco does not have any outlet in Florida, and they do not use an outside agency to call people.  They have their own team which comes from to central calling.  I just got off the telephone with the person from Florida who was trying very hard to get a credit card number from me for my Medical Insurance Plan.  I have Medco through my work.  If it is legitimate, why would someone be asking for my credit card?

I asked him to take me off of their calling list, and he said that wouldn't happen  This does not sound legitimate to me.

that is why I am done with them . Medco is my provider but that doesn't mean you can't go to the drug store for your meds. It only cost a little more a year- less than a carton of smokes. And the drug store doesn't change you brand for a cheaper one. At a drug store you get the same brand all the time.

medco call's me all the time tryying to get me to switch to there mail order service i told them i am more then happy with my local place and they just push and push if you tell then no they get rude and just call more, they just dont know how to take no for a answer. I really wish they would stop calling.

I got a call from this number, didn't answer.

My health insurance did outsource their meds to Medco so probably they want me to switch to mail order, have tried in the past.

I've had enough! The balony has got to stop. This harrassment is deliberate; Medco has nothing to gain except their joy in disturbing their clientel. Whenever I make payment, it is with a certified bank check; they aren't going to sneek into my financial private account! WISE UP Y'ALL! Medco don't git

My husband is also with BCBS/UAW and we are NOT required to use Medco.  We heard much about problems with MEDCO from another auto worker and knew we would stay with our CVS drug store.  Our preference is to stay and get our prescriptions from the drug store. We were never told that we HAD to go with MEDCO.  We had a call today and the person on the other end said "they are the prescription provider for our drugs" -- when I told her she wasn't and that we get our drugs from the drug store, she rudly hung up on me!!  Nice business-like people that work there.  I reported this call to BCBS.

They called my wife at work, and said it was MedCo, and asked for her birth date, and we got suspicious and told them No, and hung up and called MedCo directly.  They said that it WAS a legitimate call, and gave us a number to call the department that called us.  We did, and they were pitching the benefits of their mail order service, "having noticed we had gotten some meds at a local pharmacy".

Last year spoke to them and this year calling again.Name given by B.C.B.S of N.C. to sell you prescription Drugs at a discount.

I found it after getting numerous calls from the ...4498 number and now have one of their direct staff lines - and voice mail for after hours....

I agree, this should be reported. I get these calls at all hours on my cell phone even though I'm on the Do Not Call list. It's really annoying.

I get calls EVERYDAY from this number; I don't answer it because I have caller ID; it comes up as FLORIDA.  From reading what other people have said about this #, I do have Medco for my mail in prescriptions, but they have a different number, and when they do call me, they leave me messages.  They don't just hang up and not leave a message like this number does.  So I don't think it is Medco.
Thankfully with callerID I never have to take their calls but I do with they would stop calling my house.
