    got a call @ 5.45 today. answering the call resulted in me reverse calling them (strange, because i opened my phone, which only answers incoming calls). what picked up was an automated menu that asked for my "account information." i gave it all false info (strangest thing, it never asked for a name), it never had a problem with anything i gave, then it transferred me to a live operator whose intro was "my name is /blank/, thank you for calling." there was no mention of the company.

    so, seems to me they are a trying to get random personal info from people. the only reason you do that is for nefarious goals.

    Hello everyone! Under HIPAA Law, it is more difficult for you to get your own health information. However, anytime you give your list of medications to doctors', hospitals, health organizations, insurers, etc., it gives those organizations and their contractors and subcontractors access to your contact information, some of your health information, and provides them with permission to contact you. I do know that MEDCO handles mail-order prescription drugs for GEHA. At one time, they did the same for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. What else they do, I do not know. Blocking number features on individual phones are easily defeated, somehow. Local phone companies probably won't block any individual numbers, unless you sign up for a service, and then it might be on a bundled plan. you can find on this website many creative ways to handle unwanted calls. My favorites are ignoring unknown or unwanted numbers and special ringtones going to voicemail or something similar.

    772-335-4498 is from Medco.

    Answered a call from 772-335-4498, no response, <b>waited for 15 seconds</b>, then heard "Richard from Medco." He asked me to verify my information with my birthdate or address. Gave him my address. We discussed about my prescriptions with my current Doctor.

    He moved my prescriptions from my local pharmacy to the Medco online system.   I have been putting off mailing my RX to medco online, and now they are doing it for me by verifying my RX with my doctor. This is great. Will save big bucks. No more co-pays!

    Medco Mail-Order Pharmacy

    They use this number for marketing, for non-customers and customers alike, despite refusal.  They call my underage child's cell phone constantly, despite having been told to stop using this as a number to conduct any household business.

    If you have Medco as a presciption plan, keep calling back and make it clear you do not want to have cold-calls conducted to your number.

    If you do not have Medco, you have a right to have you phone registered on the do not call list, and file formal and strong complains against blatant violations.

    Received a robocall, today, from 772-335-4498.  Caller i.d. shows it as Medco Pharmancy.  Looked them up and sent an e-mail asking them to remove my number from their list, that I am on the national do not call list, and that the next call would be reported to the NC Attorney General (whose office does a pretty good job at discouraging these types of calls!)  Don't know what the outcome will be, but it's worked with other calls! HA!

    Here is the information ATT gave me to go to, It is from the Federal Goverment Do not Call Registry;

    Do Not Call Registrations Permanent and Fees Telemarketers Pay to Access Registry Set
    Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. More than 157 million phone numbers are on the National Do Not Call Registry.

    Under the Act, the Federal Trade Commission will continue to remove telephone numbers that have been disconnected and reassigned to other customers. Consumers can delete their telephone numbers from the registry at any time by calling 1-888-382-1222 (TTY 1-866-290-4236) – the call must be made from the telephone number they wish to delete.

    The Do-Not-Call Fee Extension Act of 2007 also was enacted, setting the annual fees telemarketers will pay to access the registry in fiscal year 2009 at $54 for each area code of data accessed or $14,850 for access to every area code in the registry, whichever is less. Telemarketers may access the first 5 area codes of data at no charge, and certain exempt organizations will continue to access all data at no charge. For each fiscal year beginning after fiscal year 2009, the fees will be increased at the rate of change of the consumer price index, unless the change is less than 1 percent, in which case the fees will not be adjusted.

    Received a call from this number today.  Rep said she was from Medco, my prescription drug provider.  Wanted to give me information about some benefits I'm not currently using, and said the call may be recorded.  She wanted to, for my personal privacy, ensure I am who I say I am (even though she called me !?!), and wanted my date of birth or some other piece of info (I can't remember what).  I told her that since I didn't initiate the call, I couldn't be sure she was who she said she was, and hung up.
    When I rang the number back, the automated voice did identify the place as Medco, but this is the first call I've received from them.
