Always Answer These Types Of Calls - They Have To Pay For Completed Call.  Keep Them Talking As Long As Possible With Fake Info So They Have To Pay More.

I called them back and told them to take my number off the list because I was not the person they were looking for (new number for me) and they said ok ... we shall see.

I received a call and partial voice mail.  It was cut off and started "if you are this person, etc."  It did give a call back number of 800-824-6191.  If you google that number is shows First National Collections in Sparks NV

They just called me, so I decided what to see what this was about. The [***] on the phone went thru the same spiel that the call was being recorded, I told her I was recording the call as well and she said that was fine, wanted me to give her personal info. I refused and told her you called and so I'm sure you have it. I repeatedly asked her to stop going around in circles and tell me what this was about and she said she couldn't until I would verify the info. I told her to blow me and hung up.

What you can do after answering, if you notice there is no one there, is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6 or 7 times as quickly as possible. This confuses the machine that dialed the call, and it kicks your number out of their system.

Robocalls from this company for the past couple of weeks. I was home today when they called, and I returned the call to 800-824-6191. Today they asked for someone whose name sounded like Sisk Krista. (I've never heard of this person before. It's not the guy these companies often ask for who had my number 2 years ago.) This call was different from earlier calls because it invited a return call if they were calling a number by mistake. The representative named Elvis was polite and said he would remove my number from the list. He apologized for the inconvenient calls, but noted that I might have to make the same request of other companies who might be calling. (Been there, done that.) Let's hope my number actually is removed and that I don't have to make the same request to the many other numbers this company calls from.

You are correct. This debt is well over 7 years old. I am going to have them remove it from my credit report, You can do the same. It is, indeed First National Collection Bureau.

This number 775-412-4499 which my phone says is from Nevada has been calling but whenever I answer I get no reply. Also have had calls from 757-990-8973 (Virginia) with no reply as well as 714-495-4807 (California), 301-882-9950 (Maryland), 314-627-5652 (Missouri). Not sure who they are or why they are calling but it is extremely annoying. One was an automoted call asking for some business I had never heard of.

*sigh* Here we go again. FNCB is calling for Sherry Llewellyn from Austin, TX because she owes a debt. And I'm the unlucky person who ended up with her phone number when I got a new phone almost two years ago. Every 6-8 months they stop calling, then the cycle starts up all over again. I'm really sick of it.

You're good until they sell the debt to another company, in 6-8 months. Then the calls will start again. I've been doing this for almost two years now.

Found information about this number (which calls me at LEAST 3 to 4 times per day and does not leave a message) above - great info on FDCPA and what the law protects you from.
