Logged in to get support from Norton via chat and filled out my contact information containing my phone #.  While waiting in queue, the phone rang claiming to be from Microsoft support.  They said that my computer was infected and when I asked how I could verify if they were indeed from Microsoft, they led me to the DOS screen which had my CLID (a bunch of #) and they read this back to me.  Then they asked me get into the EVENTVIEWER on my laptop (which disclosed a lot of errors, warnings) and to ask me to go to Teamviewer.com to set-up a remote session.  Luckily, I got an error message and couldn't proceed.  To all of you who had posted your past experience, thank you!  Hopefully, I was saved from their attempt to scam me or to install a malware on my laptop.

These people have kept calling both my house and cell phones. I haven't even registered with i-yogi. Within the last halfhour, on both phones, they have called 20 times and haven't even left a message. They are even calling again right now as I'm typing this. I'm glad they figured out what the redial button does but I wish they'd stop.

    Laplink
Received a call 12/4/2015 6:12 AM & again 1 minute later, Calif. time. from 800-237-3901. Did not answer. He left a message stating he is from the tech support for Laplink software. I called Laplink 425-952-6001 on 12/3/2015 AM for tech support. She said she will send an email for someone to call me. Well, at 6 AM??? Heavy accent from India or??
I purchased a software online from Laplink, PC mover. to move data, files & some applications from the old PC to the new windows 10 PC. For technical help to call 1-877-904-9644. I did 2x, wait time 30 - 40 minutes each time. The 1st guy hung up on me, the 2nd guy was rude, I hung up. Both heavy accents. I was finally able to xfer all the data. Nice to learn from here what other people experience. Seems this India company represents not just Norton but also Laplink & ?. BTW, the software was $29.95 from Laplink, as a download. I printed the 18 page manual. It explains the process very well. You hook up the old & new CPU with an Ethernet cable to do a PC to PC transfer. But you MUST do all the prep steps, halt auto downloads, disable firewall, Virus software etc. on both PC's. When the first 2 tries did not work, I was supposed to cancel on both PC's & restart the software on both PC's. I only restarted on the new one since that one did not do anything. After restarting on both PC,s all went well. It did explain it but I did not follow it.

At this point in time, I Yogi has changed their support number. Why? Because someone who is calling himself Sandip Mahato has been calling their customers and even those who are NOT customers, claiming ot be from I Yogi and through team viewer, skype and a few other programs he is tunneling through people's modems, gaining confidential info. and stealing money from bank accounts, debit cards and even from Ebay and Paypal. How do I know this? Because it ALMOST happened to me. The kid even wanted me to go to Western Union and commit fraud! Instead I told him to give me 40 min. to get to Western Union and since I've been a LONG TIME CUSTOMER OF I YOGI WHO HAS SAVED MY PC MULTIPLE TIMES I called I Yogi and was told he was a fraud. My hubby and I dove into the car, went straight to the bank and closed our accounts, opened a new account and got new debit cards. My the time I got home this so called Sandip Mahato whom you can find flying the I Yogi flag on facebook but with no profile picture had my bank account at over $5900 in the NEGATIVE!!! That was, luckily, the account I'd just closed out. Then he bought more than $790 worth of video game CRAP in my name by ordering it on EBAY and PAYPAL PAID FOR IT!!!! Yes, it took me a couple days to get it straightened out with Ebay and Paypal but I got it done. He did NOT GET ONE THIN DIME FROM ME!!! I know another woman he did this to and he drained her bank account dry and charged her credit cards to high heaven. At this point in time, I yogi is still an awesome support company but don't do anything at all with them unless you can do it through the support dock in the chat box. That is the ONLY way you're guaranteed to speak with an REAL I YOGI TECH.

I got a call that showed up as "private" on my caller ID. She stated that she was from "Microsoft Certified Engineers" and was calling because a computer listed at my phone # and address was "generating errors and warnings" and she wanted access to my device. I refused and requested a phone #. The # she gave me was 1-800-237-3901 ext 1. I DEMANDED that my number be removed from their list but she told me "she was not able to do that". I proceeded to hang up and call Microsoft directly. NOT at all surprised to be told this was a scam! Please do NIT allow them access to your computer!!!

Guy with heavy foreign accent calls and says he is Gary Thomas representing Microsoft. Says my computer has too many errors. I asked how does he know if my computer has errors or not. He said cuz he is from Microsoft and they got the reports. Says he will help me for free by giving instructions. But can only do so when I at my computer. I hung up cuz my computer is not having any problems. I believe it is some kind of scam. The call originated from 347-630-9625.

Just called the number back and a woman with an Indian accent told me it was a tech computer who fixed computers.  I thanked her and told her my computer was OK.  They fix Windows, Mac and I couldn't understand the rest.  Her company is in N.Y.  Didn't believe a word.  BLOCKED!

Several years ago when I called Apple support I was transferred to iYogi in India.  They fixed my problem then but now, since reading all comments,  I wouldn't trust them as far as I could spit which isn't far these days.  They called yesterday and today.  Blocked!
