- Scam callI do not have a Verizon and I was offered $49.00 credit on next's bill? The rep said he needed to get some information from me to process the credit. (I never give out my information to an unknown caller!) I asked the sale's rep for the phone number and he could not remember it off the top of his head. I called the number and it's sales department. I don't even know if it's really for Verizon?
- Caller: Verizon Wireless Sale Department
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Amy HMan with very thick accent said he was from Verizon - but I really doubt he was. I could barely understand him, but I figured out that he was saying that I was going to get a discount that would show up on my next billing cycle.
He kept asking "OK?" He really wanted me to say "Yes" so I said "I'll look for it next month". I admitted that I wasn't sure it was legit, so he gave me a reference # to try to appease me. Then he wanted to verify that he was speaking to the right person. That's when I decided to hang up.- Call type: Scam suspicion

- Terri replies to Jess MThis is a scam. Verizon doesn't call, they Emil or text. They are after your password so they can wreck your account. Call 611 and report so they can change your password and protect your account.
- TammyThese scammers can change their information that shows up on caller id. So, while that could be a legitimate phone number, that doesn’t mean it is a legitimate call. I got a call but have no Verizon accounts.

- Paul S.Total scam. They had all my information and said they are Verizon giving me a credit on my bill. They will ask you info to 'verify your identity' but DON'T DO IT!!! I pretended to have another call and asked for his call back number and he hung up on me. I wish we could fly drones over these boiler room scam houses in Pakistan and bomb them.

- O'DawgI received 4 calls from this number on 12/21 between 12:30 and 2pm. I didn't answer (I wasn't home, anyway), but there was no voice mail. I checked my account online and there was a notification about my bill due date changing. They could easily have left a message if it was that important
- Caller: Unverified Verizon
- CameronGot a call earlier today from this number claiming it was Verizon...I rarely answer unknown number but today was different and I picked up I said hello twice b4 they wanted to answer and after I heard them say Verizon I thought to myself y the he** would they be calling me if they can't even tell me over the phone y my bill was so high. I suggest no-one answer a 1-800 number period unless u know the number calling you.

- JoshI missed the call the first time, then picked it up the second time after reading these notes. I told him I didn't believe him when he asked me to verify info, so he said I can either give him the info or just hang up, so I told him he can hang up, too, but he said he can't, so I told him probably 4 or 5 more times, and right before the final time I told him that I thought it was a scam, so he can hang up, he finally did. Took about 4 and a half minutes.

- A P replies to Rocky| 1 replyJust spoke with Verizon. Numbers can be spoofed. It was not them informing me if a $199,00 credit. English was almost unrecognizable and line was pure static. Not paranoid. Called Verizon and it is a scam using a spoofed number. DONT EVER GIVE OERSONAL INFO OUT. VRRIZON GAS TGEINFONTHEY NEED.
- A P replies to A PDon't ever give out personal info. VERIZON HAS THE INFORMATION THEY NEED.
- DickI get calls from this number but I have my phone blocked to receive calls only from my contact list. Works great and I checked for blocked calls once a week, then search to see who called.
- JenGot a call yesterday from this number. The caller had a very thick accent and had to ask him to repeat himself several times. He said he was from Verizon and that I was owed a credit on my account. He asked me how I would like it back: gift card, check, or account. Suspicious that it was a scam, I said just credit my account. He said he would need additional information from me first. Ummmm, he should (If legitamately Verizon) have my information already, right? I ended up hanging up without providing anything.
