- GiG| 5 repliesSince when do debt collectors have such authority to suspend your license??
Here's what happened to me in Georgia, twice!
Caught driving without insurance, state law btw, registration suspended, license suspended for 120 days.
Went to local court, paid fines, went thru driving school, paid for that, paid to have registration and insurance and license reinstated.
Still have all notices and receipts.
Only a judge can order your license suspended, not a freaking debt collector, and you would get an offical notice from the DMV.- Caller: Unknown

- DonnaMy business has had numerous calls from this company, the most recent caller identified himself as "Ray Outlaw" and said he was at extention 1215. Supposedly, he said he was following up with a claim from Sept 2010 involving State Farm Insurance payout to a boat customer of ours. He said the customer claimed we damaged the boat and they paid the claim to the boat owner, now we owe them. Problem is, we do not now, nor have ever had a customer by that name and we have NEVER damaged a customer's boat beyond a seat tear or possibly causing a flat tire from something on our lot. We have been in business since 1983 and have NEVER caused damages like they are claiming we did here. They are harassing us for over $3,000! These calls have been coming in since October 2010 and they have sent one letter, but do not have a repair order or anything generated by our company for the supposed boat owner. (I wonder if someone just pulled our name out of the phone book or?????)

- MS. SMITH| 2 repliesI was called by a very nice person at Bell LLC. I had a claim that needed to be paid but couldn't afford the 3,475.00. I thought I was going to die and the stress was bad. This young man named Lloyd told me to calm down it's not the end of the world. After speaking with Lloyd for a while and being talked to by someone who cares, I know have faith that life goes on because of him. I now feel like I can deal with this claim that I owe. All because of a person that cares about me. Thank God Lloyd works for Bell LLC in Tampa Florida.
PS Bless you Lloyd- Call type: Debt collector

- ColinI had an accident three months ago in which my insurance reused to pay. the other persons company State Farm send the debt to Bell LLC who first contacted me by phone 8 days ago demanding the debt be paid right away I refused to pay till I had something in writing stating that they were the debt holder and til I saw documentation of the repairs I was paying for. I got both yesterday and contacted them again saying I was willing to pay and wanted to see about making arrangements I was told I had to pay in full by Monday or they would have the State suspend my licence I TRIED explaining that I was moving the money around to get into an account from which I could pay them out off but that I was not sure I could have it ready by Monday as it was Saturday morning but all I could get from them was pay by Monday or loose your licence. Three days after the letter arrives and only ten days from the first call seems really short notice and unreasonable to expect some one to pay a close to three thousand dollar debt.

- What a Scam.| 1 replyThese people keep calling my house with the same message. 1) Whoever they are asking for doesn't live here. 2) All they say is that my "driving privileges will be revoked" if I don't call them back. So, the first time I called back and told them they have the wrong number and to stop calling. FYI...couldn't explain to me exactly what they were up two. After several more harassing phone calls I finally called back and got one of their rude representatives on the phone who couldn't explain anything else. I've reported them to the BBB and will be contacted the FCC/FTC considering this is becoming harassment across state borders.
Based on the multiple accounts above I would say the company is half-legitimate and half scam.- Caller: Bell Corp

- Yeah OK| 1 replyI got a call from these people today regarding an accident I had in a Walmart parking lot. At the time of the accident I did not have ins. However the officer did not write an accident report because it was on private property. I got a ticket for no insurance. I have since gotten insurance and the judge dismissed the ticket. I contacted my insurance agent who btw is State Farm, and he has never heard of these people and told me to never give anyone by this company my debit or checking acct information. I then called the DMV and they dont even have the ticket in their system. If the lady I bumped into had turned this into her ins company, then wouldn't her ins co contact me about it? This seems a little fishy to me.

- Anonym| 2 repliesthis number has called our house phone repeatedly, non stop. wanting over 2000 dollars. for an accident we were in, in december of 2011. we have a one year old so obviously we dont have that kinda money. state farm has never contacted us once about how much we owe or nothing from state farm. we did not have insurance at the time, but state farm should have contacted us first. theres something not right about these people. and when we got into our accident we didnt even have a house phone or number so we have no idea how they got our house phone number. we got the cops and the people we hit our cell phone number. i dont believe these people are real cuz the insurance company has to contact you first about the claim. and people can not be calling other people all hours of the night. and when these people call they are rude and will hang up on you... and i made and agreement to have the money takin out of my bank account on the 23rd of every month and its now the 24th. my insurance company now always takes the money out on the scheduled day. so i am going to have my account blocked from them until i figure out who these people are...

That puts it too mildly according to non-shill comments logged here in the year which has passed. I stand behind my original remarks. Lawbreaking debt collectors are not "helping" anyone but themselves to your pockets.
} Regardless of your opinion
What the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general and consumer law groups have to say about extortionist collection tactics is not a matter of opinion. People are harmed when collections laws are broken, far more than you call center drama queens will ever be when you fail to collect on bogus claims and deceptive practices. - Resident47 replies to Anonym| 1 replySiighh .... You gave these thugs the keys to your bank account in spite of multiple valid reasons not to trust what this collector was telling you. With luck it will dawn on you that you are entitled to proof of claim and fair treatment, else the collection agency is NOT entitled to your assets.

http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpajump.shtm - CraigBell Subrogation Services LLC of Tampa, Florida is the epitome of a slimy, unethically run organization that will unrelentingly harass innocent people and thumb their nose at those they harass and the government. They should have their license to do business revoked and if we had any Attorney General who actually worked for the people, they would be out of business. In my case, they are in violation of at least one law (the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) and have ignored repeated requests by phone and certified mail to cease and desist their annoying daily phone calls. I have even written the Texas (where I live) and Florida Attorneys General about this despicable company and their illegal practices. Yet, to date, they continue their daily phone calls looking for someone who no longer lives at my address and has not lived at my address for over 4 years, but that apparently means nothing to these scum bags. No company should be allowed to do business when they constantly harass innocent people and ignore the law.
I was informed by the Texas Attorney General that "...when substantive evidence indicates that a person or business is systemically violating Texas law, the Attorney General may take action on behalf of the collective legal interests of the people of this state." Isn't it comforting to know that the people in government who are entrusted to uphold the laws, and who allegedly work for the people, MAY take action against companies that violate the law essentially whenever they feel like it. A quick search of the Internet will reveal plenty of evidence of this company's dubious practices for the Attorneys General. One wonders just how many phone calls, emails and/or letters to these officials it will take before they do their job.
If any of you reading this have had similar problems with this company, or know of others who have, I encourage you to write or call your state and the Florida Attorney General. Who knows, if they start getting harassed enough maybe they will actually uphold the law and shut this business down.- Caller: Bell Subrogation Services LLC

- Gimme abreakTOTAL SCAM ! Contact your insurance agent or department of insurance commissioner to get the real scoop. A private company can not suspend your drivers license, only the state can. If your insurance lapses you do not get an automatic suspension. How would they know you are even driving a personal car? Looks like the company got wind of this site and had their cronies add comments for a sense of legitimacy.
If you owe a company money, you might get a garnishment....not a suspended license.- Caller: Bel Corporation
- Not the person they want! These people keep calling and harassing the wrong people. They get a name and then they call you and accuse you of being that person which is lie - total joke.
